I just got MIUI12/A10 on Redmi Note 8T, good upgrade without any bugs that I can see.

I think battery is a little better as well.

    • +2

I followed this guide, and helped me to make the ads almost zero level. will make software experience very smooth if you follow that to remove ads from various areas of software.

Hey, i have been using Poco X3 for about 3 weeks now.
      I did a reddit discussion:
      https://www.reddit.com/r/PocoPhones/comments/j5ydb6/my_first…

So far its been good, I did de-bloat those useless apps that came with it.
Haven't experience anything strange or ads or what so ever.

After joining the Amazon prime trial again and getting stuff delivered within 24 hours and on Saturdays and Sundays, makes me think I can never wait a month for deliveries …no way… going to join the annual membership again it's just so good… 9lus prime tv , movies… have ordered off Ali in the past and usually the cables are shit and the products never great and takes way too long

    • +1

I wanted to buy Anker Soundcore Life Q20.From Amazon, it was around 160$, got it from AliExpress 68$. 5 weeks = 100$.

  • Looks decent but I really wanted an OLED screen for my next phone. Maybe Mi 10 Lite.

    • I've never used a phone with OLED before, how bad is it?

  • +7

Should probably clarify the listing specifically says Poco X3 NFC. There exists a non NFC variant (called just "Poco X3") targeted at markets like India that foregoes NFC in exchange for a 6000 mAh battery vs 5160.

  • Currently have a Google Pixel (OG) - do you think this would be a good upgrade? Do not want to get a lesser camera and like the stock android on my OG Pixel. Not sure if I will like MIUI.

    • +3

      Yes 100%.

I bought an Oppo A52 recently which is a worse phone than this (also upgraded from OG Pixel) and felt it was a huge upgrade.

Camera-wise you can just download a Gcam port.

      • -1

Recken a stock rom will come out for it?

        • Probably, there's already a bunch of custom roms on XDA forums, all/most of which aim to be a "stock android experience".

        • Unofficial lineage os builds exist or theres pixel experience.

  • Haven't used AliExpress before. How does the store and select coupon work?

      • Thanks 👍

  • I have this mobile already, its quite heavy and vibrate little if you play any sound, not sure if others felt the same. I might go for a smaller/lighter phone. I still love my Redmi Note 4

    • +1

Yea it does vibrate, this is due to the feature that they put in. If you want to get rid of the vibration
Go to setting, go to accessibility menu and set audio balance all the way to the right! (but you will be left out with mono speaker sounding instead of stereo)

  • Is this real official store? There's a lot of fake "official store" on AliExpress.

  • +16

    I have both the X3 and Redmi Note 9 Pro 128gb and paid $300 v $325

Having used the n9p for 3 months, I would give it the edge over the X3

The n9p just feels better built, the rear design is much cleaner and the camera array looks far better in my opinion

My white n9p rear appears premium, with a nice quality to it; whereas the grey/blue X3 has a less mature design - the POCO logo is fairly large and with a reflective coat at certain angles will reflect a rainbow logo, which gives the entire phone a cheaper appearance

The rear construction is glass vs plastic, and the difference is immediate even when both included cases are on
When you tap the back of the X3, it sounds plastic and hollow, which is not the case with the n9p

I also find the X3 looks and feels a little bulkier, likely because it is noticeably thicker, however they weigh the same to me

The X3 screen is definitely smoother, but you would have to compare them side to side to notice

The cameras are the same, and I believe the n9p has the higher macro camera

I have not used the X3 long enough to compare battery, but I am more than happy with the n9 which can go 2 full days without a charge, it's on screen time is also fantastic. I think it will be unlikely the X3 will ever match it given the 120Hz screen and the slightly more powerful 732g which will use more power

If you play a lot of games (I don't), the X3 will probably be the pick as that's the only place you will notice the 732g, and I guess the higher refresh rate would pay off here. If you don't play games like me, I would recommend the n9p

I am going to keep my n9p rather than the X3, but you won't go wrong with either one

    Happy 11.11 guys and gals

    • Thanks for this.

I have the RN9Pro 128 and was debating whether I should by my wife the same or get her the X3 (currently she's on the RN7). The main thing she cares about is the camera.. I think I may just go with another RN9.
      Aaargh… such a tough decision!

"Part of the 11.11 Sale starting 7pm AEDT."

    7pm on 11/11 or 10/11?

    • +1

      11/11

  • +1

can someone point me in the direction of these coupons?

    • +18

They will made available at 7pm on the day. You can then click on 'Get Coupons' underneath the price see here.

One will be a promo code that needs to be copied and pasted at checkout here.

The other coupon will need to be clicked on, it should then say you have 'Successfully Received the Coupon'. This coupon will then be applied automatically at checkout. Make sure you're logged in before claiming this coupon.

      • +1

Well done adr8 for the detailed reply for us AliExpress noobs!!! Screenshots helped alot! Thank you!

      • These coupons aren't available to me… anyone know what's up?

        • +1

Me either, I'd say they are gone already. I saw some coupons right on 7:00 but nothing matching the OP then after refresh no codes at all.

          • @Punkboy: Having said that, there is $20 (capped) cashback through Shopback rn, so it does get a bit cheaper… but I think I'm going to pass

  • +6

Just a note to those wanting to get the codes for 11.11 sale , last year I was eyeing a phone and was waiting for the sale to happen and it turned out in the end that the 2 codes that stacked were used up immediately when the clock hit the time so it is a bit off putting bcuz they advertise it so cheap with codes but not many people get it at the price on the picture. Just a heads up.

  • +2

What are the reasons for those who pick Redmi Note 9 Pro over this phone?

    • Good question.
Yes I would like to know as well.

      • +1

As above. If you play games (better CPU, not a lot 720G vs 732G) and higher refresh rate screen.

Unless you game, you won't know the difference.

        • thanks for your insights.
How do you compare the battery life and camera quality?

          • @[Deactivated]: getting a better CPU is always better whether you game or not.

allows you to keep the phone for much longer with needing to change to a newer phone.

  • That's a lot of phone for not a lot of money. Wish it didn't have that racing stripe + logo on the back or I'd probably jump on it despite the camera issues.

    • +1

      interesting review

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uzqTBrEbDo

while it seems like a lot of phone for much money..
two of the extra cameras are pretty much meh/useless
      and no optical image stabilization

Also lots of ads on the phone.

      • +1

From a quick google, can disable the ads. No idea how effective.

        • thanks for the link

though there should not have been ads in the first place.. for something that we paid good money for.
if the phone was free and had ads, then that would have been different.

would be good if there was a stock android rom, we can install immediately before signing into any of our accounts
in case they are sending all our data to the chinese servers for safe keeping.

          • +1

@pinkybrain: You could easily install EU Rom that is available right now through EU Rom forum.

I couldn't agree more that it shouldn't have ads in the first place. But i have never encountered any apps through my daily usage. I just debloated most of the useless apps that came with the phone.
All those ads IMO usually appear in those apps that came with it.

Lol about sending data to the Chinese server, I mean all our data is with google and all those companies and what's the difference?

P.s google incognito also collected your data eventhough they said your data will be deleted once you exit. Lawsuits is in its way AU$7.1 billion class lawsuits.

            • @froddoog: I meant sending all my google account data to the chinese server…
That is really only the main account we need to sign into our phone, if we use lots of google products ie gmail, chrome, etc..

In regards to what is the difference?
The point is that we need to limit data collection from as much companies/governments as possible.
Google already knows lots about you, don't need another chinese government to know as well.

And if there was data breach or hacking of your accounts (Google account + any other accounts)

Who do think is likely the breach from?
              -Chinese company / Chinese government
              OR
              -Google

              • @pinkybrain: I do agree with you :) that we have to stop/limit them from collecting our data.
I think I'm at the point of, if the data they are collecting is good for me then just do it.

I.e. presenting me to specific ads that might suit me rather than randomised ads that I do not even care haha

I mean, it's good to look at it that way, but we are all biassed towards one company anyway.

But to be honest, they are all in it for money. We are just their product.
They own us. Doesn't matter whether its the East or West companies.

      • Also capturing night pictures/video quality look crap.

and while the screen seems to have fast 120hz, from the review
it was noted there was slight lag/slowdown when swiping left for the google cards screen

  • I have bad experience with AliExpress, item did not arrived or not the right quantity or not the right model. AliExpress simply closed the dispute without looking at any evidence. I will never use AliExpress again.

  • Will cashback still work with the coupons?

As I believe one of them will need to be entered via the promo code box.

    • I was wondering the same thing

  • +1

Be aware, that many sellers stop accepting Aliexpress Select coupons within seconds after the start of the sale.
So make sure to double-check the price before paying.

Last year I was planning to buy a phone with $20 off using Select coupons, and a free Mi Band. Select coupons stopped working almost immediately and the band went "out of stock".

    • Their hot price special would be less than most retailers buy in price. A sold out sign will appear within seconds of this deal starting imo.
      Dont get your hopes up.

  • Looks like the $10 code is limited to 3000 people.

    Otherwise it'll be $209 USD (~$300.92 AUD)

Can likely still use the Select coupons to bring it down a bit further, but that $10 USD one is fairly limited.

    • Can you get the

To get above price, apply US $18 Select Coupon & US $10 Store Coupon.

How to get the US $18? I can get about $10AU off … just joined up with a referral, nothing seems to stack …

      • Codes will be available when the sale starts at 7pm on 11/11.

They'll show up on the "Get Coupons" area under the price as per adr8's comment :)

They've stopped advertising the $181 price for some reason, but I believe you can still get it for that.

EDIT: There's still the $6 per $65 spent coupon advertisement under the price, plus that extra $10 coupon only for the first 3000 people. So yes can still get it for the $181 price if you're quick enough (more likely to get it at $191 though, which will be about $299 AUD incl GST).

        • Thanks @mangobango … i must admit i am a bit confused with all the coupons and offers … how do i know I get the max discount? Currenting getting around $10AU off so $332 … with a new referral code as well …

          • @db2k: Haha yeah it can be a bit confusing if you've never done it before!

I believe you can only use 1 coupon and 1 promo code at a time. So the coupon would be the Select coupon, and the promo code is the $10 off voucher (both of which go live at 7pm).

So you can't save them from now and use them when the sale starts, need to get in quick.

  • Have they improved the camera/video quality on the latest models? I owned a Redmi Note 3 a few years ago and the quality was abysmal, comparable to a 2mp Webcam

  • Loving my OPPO Reno 5g for $100.. just has some cracks in the screen, big phone 6.6 inches but dual speakers and amazing cameras, SD855, 8GB,256GB + expandable, been working great now 3 months 😋 the owner didn't know what he had so got a steal from Gumtree!! But I must say OPPO has surprised me, very smooth phone, Samsung better watch out!!

  • Has anyone owned this and also the Xiaomi 9T?
Anyone comments on the camera. The 9T has the most amazing camera and then I went to the oppo reno z and it's crap. Is this an upgrade and would it similar to the 9T?
    TIA

    • I am also interested to know if anyone has improved default camera of 9T and how is it?

  • Do we need to pay GST if we use AliExpress app? I saw GST on my app. Can someone help to clarify?

    • Yes you need to pay GST on AliExpress App. Prices in OP already include GST.

      • Thanks. As of now my price is $430. Will wait on Nov 11 sale.

  • How's Ali express as a shopping website?
And also does anyone know whether they deliver in India or not, was thinking of sending one to parents

    • This particular seller doesn't ship to India.

    • Ali express not sending any mobile to India. If you want to buy for ur parents. Try FlipKart or Amzon.. they are Far cheaper then Ali express.
They have better deals compare to Ali express. I just bought one for my sister Realme 6. Cost me 240 AUD. just used my friends SBI debit card. And transfer him money very easy. Phone arrived within 24 hrs … Plus Indian warranty.
And trust me once you see flipkart and Amzon India.. you don’t like Ali express.
Ask me if you need further information

  • Noob question, how do you apply/get "apply US $18 Select Coupon & US $10 Store Coupon"? Will that somehow appear on the day of the sale?

    • Yes promo codes and coupons will be available at 7pm on 11/11. See my comment here on how to get and apply coupons and promo (store) coupons.

  • Can someone Guide me Between Poco X3 NFC and Realme 6. Both is almost same price… I think $15-20 difference.

    which one is better …???

  • +1

my advise is don't buy from Aliexpress. when shit goes wrong you will not see your money back. i had my bad experience and never buy again from these scums.

    • +1

You can now use PayPal for extra buyer protection.

      • Is Paypal available sitewide for all sellers or just a few? I can't seem to find a way to connect my paypal or find it as a payment option

        • +1

Not sure if sitewide. The 10 or so sellers I tested had paypal as a payment option including this seller. Add the Poco X3 from this deal to cart, proceed to checkout and it should list paypal as a payment method. Eg.

          • @adr8: Looks like only big stores will have the paypal option because they can take the 7% vendor paypal transaction fee

    • This is official Xiaomi store NOT the third party sellers, so i would expect warranty

AliExpress has 90 days return, but never had to use it

  • snip

  • "To get above price, apply US $18 Select Coupon & US $10 Store Coupon."

What and where are these coupons?

  • Me still using the Poco F1 (pixel experience ROM), is this worth the upgrade?

  • +1

Anyone get it? Seemed like it sold out super quickly.

    • nope

    • Update: Ended up getting one after refreshing a few times and quickly snagging it. Use PayPal and immediately click place order - once you see a PayPal popup you can take it slow.

  • +2

It sold out in like 1 minute….

  • +3

Was this even a real deal? Coupons didn't match the OP at 7:00?

  • +2

Sh!t didn't even last 10 seconds, what a load of BS

  • +1

Its coming up as $327.70 for me

  • +1

    Who actually got one????

  • Oof, stock showed up once when I refreshed on my cart but now it's all gone again. Didn't even get a chance to find the coupons.

edit: Ozbargainers just got out–ozbargained by the global market

  • Yeah, never saw it for $280 while it was in cart, then sold out before one could figure it out

  • +2

No select coupons for this deal as well as the oneplus nord deal. Kinda sus, Aliexpress.
