Worth $10. Solid game if you enjoyed modern DOOM.

Note: It is on Xbox Game Pass for PC

And it’ll probably stay there as it’s from Bethesda.
I remember seeing it in the “leaving soon” so never got around to playing it.. thanks for the reminder.

        "from Bethesda" is slightly misleading…
        1. The developers were Arcane Studios (mostly) and id Software.
        2. The publisher was Bethesda Softworks. Note this is NOT Bethesda Game Studios. They are different.
        3. Microsoft bought Zenimax Media, which owns id Software, Bethesda Softworks (which owns Bethesda Game Studios), Zenimax Online Studios, Arcane Stuios, Tango Gameworks, and Machine Games, so games from all of these studios can (hopefully) come to Game Pass.

        • That is like saying "Halo is from Microsoft" is misleading, pointless semantics.

Bethesda owns the IP and published the game, it's not misleading to say "its from Bethesda".

          • @Vinodra: Hence "slightly".

And Bethesda doesn't own the IP. That's flat out wrong.

            • -1

@beatsntoons: How is that wrong? The developers of the original game (iD Software); are a subsidiary/ branch of Bethesda Softworks, who owns the IP if not them? I cant find any information online stating otherwise.

Avalanche Studios was contracted by Bethesda to make Rage 2, they dont own the IP.

Unless you mean Microsoft? They will own the IP in a few months, since they are buying Bethesda. Or are you going to say "Microsoft doesnt own Fallout and The Elder Scrolls IPs" because they are developed by Bethesda Game Studios?

              • @Vinodra: Zenimax owns the IP.

id (lower case d) is NOT a subsidiary/branch of Bethesda Softworks. Their parent company is Zenimax Media Inc.
Zenimax Media is a holding company, which holds the companies I mentioned above, along with a lot of their IP, Doom included. That's who owns the IP, and soon, Microsoft.

I did make a mistake earlier though; I typed Arcane Studios instead of Avalanche (as I was thinking of Arcane, which Zenimax owns), which you correctly wrote.

@beatsntoons: My. God. You have to be trolling right? You feel the need to correct iD to id, when you spelt "Arkane" Studios wrong twice, in which the first time you were talking about a completly different studio.

Zenimax is the parent company of bethesda, they are owned by the same person (Robert Altman), I dont care what terminology you use, both Zenimax and Bethesda are owned by Altman and function as the same company. That is like saying "Xbox doesnt own Halo, Microsoft does".

I'm blocking you, I think my experiance on this site will be a lot better without viewing your comments which claim another user of this website is mileading people, which you then try to justify through even more pointless semantics. You have got to be the single most exasperating commenter i've ever come across online; and that is saying something.

  • Price matching EB Games. For those that prefer.

Deluxe edition is $14.95 at EB / EB eBay if you prefer.

Shame about the $6.95 for delivery :(

Not a bad game… when the combat happens, it's actually amazing. The powers are fantastic.

But sadly the combat is few and far between. Most of it is driving around across a boring and empty world. There's not enough FPS combat.

Ordered but then immediately cancelled the order after remembering Microsoft now own the developer. It will be on Game Pass forever now. Saved me $9.95 as I didn't need a physical plastic box to store a one-time key for a game I am already effectively paying for.

I have still positive'd your deal OP because it is good for those without Game Pass.

  • If I absolutely hated the original is there anything I’d like about this sequel?

    • Probably not. Combat powers are fantastic but it doesn’t happen enough for it to make much of a difference IMO
