Edited i was gonna say 2060 super was on sale for almost the same price but that deal expired….but if we are this far down the track….i guess this is good if you must buy now like your old gpu broke or you need it for work…haha, best time to buy please buy up all the 2000 series so less competition for me to get my hands on the 3000 series.

  • Is it time to upgrade from 1060 3GB?

    • -2

Nope. RTX 3060, 3050 Ti and 3050 in Q1 2021 at a price points you'll be comfortable with if that's any indicator of your budget.

There are 2060 Supers coming in at this price right now, and the 3060 Ti will likely start at $550 MSRP, launching next month.

      • +1

Personally, I'm more excited about upcoming amd GPUs, although not sure if they are coming to Aussie anytime soon or not though

        • -8

I mean I named 4 of them, just pointing out the 2060 Super and the 3060 Ti are more immediately available in the $350-$550 bracket.

          • +10

@jasswolf: Why are you so confident 3060ti prices are going to be in that range? If the trends continue, 3070’s will be $809 FE, up to $1k-$1.1k for top tier.

            3060tis will likely be $700-$800.

Not disagreeing with your neg, I just see you commenting on every gpu deal stating 3060tis will be sub $550 without any evidence.

      • Yeah not a good time to buy graphic card now but the price $431 still cheaper than I can get from supplier for the same model.

        • -5

That's not a ringing endorsement for your supplier/and or Gigabyte's rebate program.

          • +2

@jasswolf: Some items they are cheaper from Computer Alliance than my supplier, like Samsung SSD, I bought from CA instead.

Don't know why, may be I am small potatoes.

        • Look on gumtree buddy, i picked up a 2060 super that was one month old with a receipt for $330

      • This is only speculation you do not know when or how much these will be if they will even be available.

        • -3

You realise the journalists (and others) who report on such things are currently under NDA, yes? They have setup simple checks and balances to ensure such things do not gag them from reporting when there are issues with products and companies.

          https://videocardz.com/

Here's one such resource, feel free to believe it or not. Feel free to argue until you're blue in the face, but do not feel free to reply at me with literally no real counterargument. Go puff your chest elsewhere.

          • @jasswolf: so you are actually saying you have no proof?

            • @ColdFusion: There are publicly available sources in some of those articles, and you can confirm the strike rate of the site if you like.

Have all the scepticism you like, but if you want to nag me like a 7 year old because you don't understand how the industry works, feel free to walk crotch first into a bannister.

              • +1

@jasswolf: Well then don’t say “will be” say leaked information suggests that the cost may be $550 because saying it will be not even nvidia knows that in concrete right now. No doubt they will adjust the prices based on many factors, and AMD’s prices.

    • You will see 5700xt at this price very soon

    • Yes, to 1060 6GB

  • +3

    Nope.

Notice the purchase history of these cards, haven't been selling much in months.

RX 6000 is coming next couple of weeks and AMD is killing it on both CPU and GPU fronts.

This should be no more than $350 standard price without deals.

    • +2

While I agree that this needs to go lower or discontinue, I doubt there will be any new AMD card in the $300-$500 range until next year, so you'll be relying on price drops for the 5600 XT, 5700 and 5700 XT.

AMD launch seems likely to feature three Navi 21 SKUs, the lowest being 64 CUs, which will be competing against the 3060 Ti, 3070 and 3070 Ti depending on what kind of performance metric you're setting.

      • Where is your evidence for the Ti models you mention?

That's been confirmed as a genuine hardware validation by the site team. Kindly do not go chasing me up and down in future deals about any $10-$20 difference in MSRP.

          • +1

@jasswolf: FYI jasswolf, I have good word that 3060ti’s are already in stock with most retailers. They are damn expensive though and will be $100/$150 under the 3070.

So you’re right about them being in existence, your prices have been wildly off.

            • @tkotk: What cards though? I know ASUS have been shipping early globally, so you're probably referring to Strix cards.

Not sure your info disagrees with mine or my speculation, and 64 CU Navi 21 will skittle 3070 and 3060 Ti prices anyway.

      • +1

downvotes = no evidence I see

  • +2

You could get virtually the same card for virtually the same price in March 2019. This is not a deal, sorry.

  • +3

2060 Super for literally the same price just a couple of weeks ago https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/571694

  • +1

"free $50 ebay plus voucher" any link for that?

    • I think they refer to the retention offer if you cancel an eBay Plus trial?

    • Not free when it costs $49

    • i thought it was a $30 voucher after the eBay plug trial ends, which yes you need to pay $49 for the year to get

    • I'm pretty sure you can't use codes with the $50 voucher. Its one or the other.

  • +2

There are three reasons not to buy a 2060 now:

    1. This is only $40 less than in March 2019 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/447046

    2. EVGA had their KO for only $7 more (unless you have eBay plus) https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/571479.

    3. The RTX 2060 Super has been the same price in the past (unless you have eBay plus) and is still 12% faster than this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/571694.

This is a good deal for this moment. However, most people on Ozbargin would rather wait a few weeks to get a substantially better deal (myself included).

    • This is sound reasoning, supers offer a good improvement for the little extra cost.
