That's because someone manually checks to see whether it's a legitimate purchase before issuing the gift card

          • @kerfuffle: Do you know what exactly would they check and any tips to make sure the transaction doesn't get declined(like card name to be same as the name on gift card or should we login and buy all the gift cards using multiple cards for each transaction etc.) ?

            • +1

@SydOzber: Don't buy all your gift cards at once on the same account. Buy one, wait until you've received it, and then buy another one.

              • +1

@kerfuffle: Thanks for the heads up. Not sure if I can process all by tomorrow COB(now that they appeared on supplementary cards)

              • @kerfuffle: When you say same account do you mean same DJ account or Amex? I am trying to get the gift cards today with four cards :|

                • @FrugalNotStingy: Same DJs account. You should have started buying your four gift cards yesterday … I've bought three since Wednesday and all have successfully been delivered (my last one only took six minutes from ordering)

                  • @kerfuffle: Would it be easier if I opened new DJ accounts to buy the gift cards separately or they will more likely decline the purchases or go through more checks with new accounts?

Yea, I was contemplating if I should get all DJ gift cards as I also wanted to buy a Lego set from Myer so I left it until today to buy the DJ gift cards.

                    • @FrugalNotStingy: New account buying eGift Cards? Good luck with that …

                      • @kerfuffle: Just tried DJ gift card link and seems to be not working now?

                        • -1

@lilkid28: Why are you telling me? :/ I don't work for DJs.

                      • @kerfuffle: I’d rather them declining the purchase than having the gift card purchase approved but without the $25 credit from Amex.

Not sure what the fuss is about. I bought eGift cards worth more than $1500 from Harvey Norman with a new account before with no dramas. If the authentication is done right there is no need to decline the purchase.

                        • @FrugalNotStingy: If you're not sure what the fuss is about, why are you asking me questions about it rather than purchasing the gift cards? :/

                          • +1

@kerfuffle: Because you seem to be more experienced with these stuff by your comments. I’ll stop bothering :|

                      • @kerfuffle: Bought and received four eGift cards successfully, two of them were using a new account. Glad it went through.

                        • +1

@FrugalNotStingy: DJs need all the cashflow now. So they will be happy to process gift cards easier than before.

                          • @lilkid28: I am going to use the gift cards as soon as they have a sale on the things I want. I don’t want to hold onto the gift cards for long as they may go bust any day like Myer.

      • Have you received the gift card ? I am waiting for two that I bought this morning

        • +1

Yes I did this morning around 10am, purchased 6.30pm last night.

        • +1

          Mine came through at 12pm

      • Today I have purchased 5 David Jones GC's. 2 on separate accounts and 3 as guest and have received them all.

So buying Myer Coles giftcard in-store is not eligible?

      • Yes Myer instore not eligible

  • Got nothing to buy, so not gonna save it …

  • +3

For those with primary cards who initially didn't get targeted, worth checking again to see if you are now; after initially missing out, both my Velocity Escape and Westpac Platinum cards got the offer.

    Still nothing for supplementary cards.

    • Thanks for the heads up! Just checked and I got it on my primary plat edge (previously only had it on the explorer)

    • Thank you new offer arrived for my second primary.

  • anyone know if i can buy a Bonds Online Gift Card and trigger the cashback?

    • I think it’s safe to say that if you are able to buy the gift card and a pair of socks in the same cart/checkout, then the Cashback will trigger

  • has anyone used this to purchase gift card at DJ Elizabeth st and received the cashback?

  • +1

"Myer: Excludes purchases of gift cards."

    stop reading after that…..

    • You could buy them in store last year and get the credit.

      • -2

I think only Myer online is eligible, not in store, according to the terms.

        • True, but last year you could purchase in store and be eligible.

          • +1

@Yola: Oops my bad. Misreading it as this year.

  • Worked at Mecca.

Just a heads up it showed on my supplementary cards today, so worth checking.

    • Thanks for the heads up! Now what to use …

      • +1

Seriously. Ended up on all supplementary cards for Qantas discovery and plat edge.

      • +4

Time to buy some more DJ gift cards :)

        • I was thinking more Mecca since it's hard to get discounts there, however I do have some stuff I wanted to get from Myer that stacks in conjunction with Cashrewards, so might split one up into two stores

      • can't seem to think of anything worthwhile

        • Mecca gift cards.

  • +1

Yep thanks for the heads up you all.

got this on all my supp cards now. Didn't have it at first.

Still struggling on what to buy though. Might get gc in the end.

For those using this offer at Myer in conjunction with Cashrewards, check that your cashback is tracking at the increased rate:

    Sealy & SleepMaker Mattresses 14.00%
    Fashion & Accessories 12.00%
    Beauty 10.00%
    Home 6.00%
    General Merchandise 4.00%
    Lingerie & Sleepwear 4.00%

I bought all eligible beauty items with no promo code and for some reason, it's tracking at 3.5%.

If @tightarse sees this post, see if you can fix it so I don't have to submit a claim.

    • TA is already aware of this issue; I also had this problem when buying my Aesop yesterday. CR will discuss it with Myer first thing tomorrow

      • Thanks for letting me know. I didn't see a post from TA so I posted here.

Hi kyle. Not sure this is the best thread to raise this, however we (Cashrewards) are aware Myer is reporting some SKUs at the incorrect rates to us. We’re hoping Myer can bulk fix the transactions tomorrow so please hold off raising a ticket. I’ll respond once I have more details tomorrow. You have nothing to be concerned about. Thank you :)

          • @tightarse: No worries. Thanks for following up.

            • +1

@kyle: All Myer transactions have now been fixed in Cashrewards accounts. Can you please check and confirm. Thank you.

              • +1

@tightarse: Yes confirmed as tracking at 10%. Thanks for your help.

  • I just noticed, they have now added supplementary cards also at the last minute
