  • Bought this for $851 on prime day

    • me too, but my one is $845.25. And Post says it still on its way. Should I return it?

  • Technically should be 4% cashback from cashrewards? this would fall under electronics or no?

    • +1

      Or kitchen 0%?

    • +1

0% cashback under "Kitchen & Dining".

      • aaah ok fair enough thanks

      • Which is ridiculous, since Amazon pays them 10% on Kitchen Appliances purchases on a click through.

        • :( sucks if that's the case…

          • +1

@scud70: They get paid based on this table: https://affiliate-program.amazon.com.au/help/operating/sched… (you might have to sign into Amazon to see it, or go to the home page on that site and click on "Learn more" under "How do I earn" - seems to be a bit touchy at times).

Notice how "All Other Categories" is 10%, not 0%?

            • @[Deactivated]: wow didn't even know that existed… well that well and truly pi**es me off.. lol

              • @scud70: Sometimes CR/SB pay above the rate Amazon offers though, they use underpaying other categories to fund that I assume. But I always think it's a bit rich paying 0% on a category that pays them 10% and is full of high value items - while giving bonus above-commission payments for categories full of low value items.

                • @[Deactivated]: you'd def have a lot more click through if it was even 3% and happier customers.. i wont be bothering in the future without checking ..

  • How easy is this to maintain in an office environment?

    • +2

It's great but it isn't the quickest machine around.

      • I concur. I have this machine and to make a latte in OzB favourite Bodum Insulated Glass Double Wall glasses takes about 4 mins. Worth it however ;)

    • It makes meh coffee but perfect for office environment.

I think even meh bit was coming from poor maintenance. nobody run descale..

      • Is that all that's needed to maintain? Basically what do we have to do to keep it clean?

      • Pull out the brew unit and clean the top with a toothbrush. 1 min effort, infinitely better coffee.

Maintenance - Descale and use one of those detergent based dissolvable caps every month (if office used).

Pretty simple, coffee grounds get pounded into a piece of metal / plastic with small holes, keep the holes unblocked, keep calcium away from the pump (descale) and detergents clean the lines the brewed coffee travel before hitting your mug (open this up and let the office have a good vom at seeing what their coffee travels over before reaching their mug).

          detergent based dissolvable caps

Can you provide more information? A quick search didn't offer any insight.

        • I would never run detergents through the lines.

          • @onlinepred: Yeah, it's the espresso machine specialty 'detergents'. Don't know how they work, but i ran two descale cycles through my system, then pulled it apart for a look. Did nothing to clean the brew head. Ran one tablet through and it all came out. The tablet would obviously do nothing for descaling the pump though. So I just do both. Rinse thoroughly at the end.

      • We bought one for our small office and it's just ended up sitting on the counter unused after a few months.
Ended up buying a Nespresso and it is used more often!

    • Have had to get warranty claims every 6 or so months with the 3 that we have around the office.

      • Do they replace the machine or just repair it? Did you have to pay for shipping?

        • +1

Just repair. Was not a great experience. They were great about it, but having the machines come back only to fail months later again wasn't great. No didn't pay for shipping. 2/3 machines also have leaked water/coffee which stained the benchtops. They don't get used that much either.

De'Longhi Outlet sometimes has good deals on these, but out of stock at the moment.

    • What is a factory second? I wouldn’t want a used coffee machine for that price or it is just slightly damaged?

      • I'm not sure, but mine has been operating flawlessly for almost four years now. From memory I think the machine had made a dozen coffees before we received it.

There is often an increase in availability after Christmas.
