I'm waiting for the updated version but haven't seen them locally yet.

  • FYI this is a different formulation and nowhere near as good the "Ice Seal n Shine" that there are raving reviews about in the US.

Don't think so but I'd like to know where you got your info. They use the same market spiel and the only difference on the bottle is the removal of the word ICE (which begs the question - perhaps it's marketing so Australians don't think it's less effective in our hot climate?). I tried to look at MSDS a while back but the USA and AU standards are different. THIS product works brilliantly although one chemist I saw on youtube (discussing new graphene products) recently said ideally you don't want organic materials (like carnauba) because they break down more quickly (means slightly inferior protection and more-regular application but for most of us, little else).

Selleys (Au TW agents) has confirmed that the products are identical in case anyone was worrying.

Looks like i was mistaken, thought i had heard it in a car craft auto detailing video.

  • This is better than the Meguiars version. Also always cheaper.

  • How does it compare to Bowden's Lazy Wax (currently same price)? I don't mind the LW but think wax is still best in solid form.

    • I use this with Lazy Wax over the top. Amazing results. The reformulated version is supposed to be even better.

      • Aren't they both spray waxes? Why do you use two different waxes? I'd have thought a wax and a sealant over the top or two coats of the same wax

        • This is a synthetic sealant, but it does contain carnauba wax as well. It lasts a lot longer and offers excellent shine and water beading. The wax adds some depth to the paint and it never hurts to have another sacrificial layer. Detailers recommend that sealant be applied before wax.

@nubzy: I have always followed Bowden's flowchart and put the sealant down after the wax.

I prefer a longer lasting sealant than FS though.

            • @whitelie: I don't like the cult like mentality of Bowdens. Their range of products is needlessly complicated and overpriced too. They do the job but are far from the best, its all marketing. Just about all detailers recommend sealant before wax as it is a synthetic base and lasts much longer.

This is cheaper at Autobarn $17.99 https://www.autobarn.com.au/hybrid-seal-shine-wax-51027-473m… Got a bottle last week. Have not tried yet. Check out:

    • I picked one up from SCA last week by price matching.

Not as many Autobarn stores as before.

SCA and Repco are the closest ones to me.

    I like this one more

That's the one in the comparison video I linked at the top. Probably marginally better but at nearly twice the price. Think he mentioned that it can be applied in full sun/heat (not usually ideal).
