Great prices for these three fun and entertaining games. At these prices these games are no brainers in my opinion.

  • Man wish these were amazon physicals

  • I’m gonna try the Thief Demo before committing.

It was a big fat goober in the face of the people who loved the original series. The fanbase didn't even require an exceptional game. Most of us only had one request and that was 'Please don't make this some dumb reboot that burps garbage modernity all over exceptional characters" and they did exactly that. The biggest insult was introducing a female lead just to make her a hot-headed bumbling moron who required saving.

The Dishonored series was what the Thief reboot ought to have been. Made with care, creativity, and love.

      • Did you play dishonoured 1 and 2, I thought 1 was good, not amazing, I have 2 but haven't played it yet…

        • +1

I thought they were both excellent. Half the fun of Thief was going through people's underpants drawer reading their weird books. Dishonored delivered this. 2 is way better than one but I adored both.

      • +3

So you’re saying don’t bother with this and play Dishonored instead?

        • Well yeah. Why risk $2.49?

        • I wouldn't touch this Thief game even if it was free

        • +1

Yes. And honestly the Dishonored GOTY is routinely on sale for less than ten dollarydoos. Alternately, get Thief Gold, II, and Deadly Shadows off GoG for change. Don't touch the reboot with a clownpole.

      • Part of the love for the original series was the sound engineering, including the voice casting of Garrett - the whole package was a gaming experience that so far has not been surpassed even 20 years later (for me).

  • How is Need for Speed for 10y kid? He is already having Gran Turismo BTW.

    • +9

If you have PlayStation Plus, the current monthly game, Need For Speed: Payback is kilometres better than the one on sale.

      • Payback is a not a good game. (and not just because it has randomised loot boxes to unlock upgrades)

NFS 2015 is a much better game imo.

        • Payback is a bit weird. There’s so much story line for a NFS game. It feels like it’s leaving heavily on the Fast & Furious franchise.

    • +1

It’s probably ok in terms of difficulty, but lots of cut scenes/storyline that may not be fun/ age appropriate for your kid.

      • +2

I'd steer clear of it to be honest. The concept behind progression is really grinds my gears.

        • thanks folks, appreciate your inputs

          • @NeverMissABargain: NfS is fine. Sure it has cheesy cutscenes but all new NfS have those - it is part of the charme. The racing is solid and fun and for $5 you will get lots of value and fun out of it.

            • @Lysander: Have you played the NFS in question? The whole progression system and being locked to certain cars for particular events is a headache to be honest. NFS: Payback (currently free to keep with PSP) has a lot more freedom to play the way you want.

              • @ThePriceMatchGuy: I have and to be honest I don't mind cars being locked. I see it as a challenge. I believe games are too easy these days. I grew up with games like Ghost n Goblins - you have to go through the whole game twice, two touches and you are dead and no continues. Gives you an idea why I think a bit of a challenge is fine and healthy.

    • If he is having gran tursimo he should NOT also be having this games because that would be not good..

  • +1

    I never asked for this.

I feel Epic has spoiler me. I feel they need to do better now. By better I mean free… 😅

  • Wouldn't call Thief a great game. I got it on PS+ and I still feel ripped off.

    • Don't view it as a continuation of the original Thief games but as its own game. Most of the hate and negativity comes from expectations that it is a continuation of the original series and is essentially a new version of the old masterpiece. It isn't. But if you view it as a separate game it is great, especially for this price. Really polished and I never experienced any glitches or bugs. For less than the price of a small coffee.

Never got around to playing the latter deus ex. Might grab it at this price, thanks op

If you enjoyed human revolution you will love this. It improves on it in every way.

    • +1

I just finished it a week or two back. Wasn't bad, quite enjoyed it. Worth it at this price (if you missed getting it free on PS+ a year or two back).

  • Thief was awful. I never played any of the previous games, didn't even know they existed until this thread. for 2.50 you might get something out of it…but mine came free with my console.

  • Deus ex & cyberpunk 2077 both take their inspiration from the tabletop game cyberpunk 2020. If you like that sort of thing then it's a no brainer at this price. I grabbed <$10 copies PS4 digital, PS4 physical & xb1 even though I don't own the console just incase I ever do. I enjoyed mankind divided but human revolution just takes it to the next level in every way.

  • +1

Mankind is a great game. For a full price game, it felt a bit short, but at these prices it's well worth it. Ignore the reviews (they were based on RRP) and just buy it. I paid $10 for my copy.
