interesting … $150 listed at $160 as list price :)

    • +1

are you reporting to ACCC, or I'll do it

  • +2

Is this deal still valid as it's no longer available via boost site.

    • +4

Yes, Boost trying to push new customers to the $200 plan. All Boost $150 SIMs will be able to be activated until their expiry dates

      • +2

Want to buy my $50 gift and for $60

        • Will that be that price "including delivery"?

  • Can this be used as a renewal or only as a new SIM starter?

    • +2

You'll have to port out of Boost to another provider (ideally not Telstra-based), then port back to Boost with this starter kit.

      • +1

        Thanks for that.

      • do you know if they need to wait 30 days or can it be done the next day after porting?

        • Should be able to port back immediately. Did this many times before with Belong (powered by Telstra).

I think the 30 days is required for postpaid plan promotions at JBHIFI.

  • Ive seen a review on your site that said it couldn't be activated.

    • +3

source? We sold thousands of this product, less than 10 were unable to be activated due to technical reason and they were all replaced or refunded.

    • Why it shown $246?

    • too late :(

      • No it's not, these from above still available but OP's deal sold out.

  • thanks OP. bought 1

    • Thank you.

  • What about ported in customers

    • +1

If you are not already with Boost, you can port your number to Boost during activation using this start kit. If you are already with Boost, you will need a recharge voucher.

      • I HV belong which is on Telstra. Wondering if I be needing a blank SIM.

        • You do not need a blank SIM. We have customer reported even porting from Telstra nowadays doesn't need a blank SIM, but that might be case by case.

          • @Auditech: Thanks , can I add international roaming on top of it ?

            • @aman24jan: International roaming is no longer available due to the upgrade of system. It will come back for sure, especially when the travel ban lifted.

              • @Auditech: You mean stranded Aussies have no chance to receive texts. I m going in Dec outside Australia and I need incoming calls or text atleast.
                To authenticate via OTPs etc.
Is it the same case with Aldi and Telstra itself ?

                • @aman24jan: Not sure about others, but for Boost, it's no longer available until mid 2021
                  https://boost.com.au/international-roaming/

If you go overseas in Dec, Boost might not be a good choice

                  • @Auditech: Will Boost allow Wi-Fi Calling from an non Australian ip while overseas ?

If it does then the lack of roaming should not be an issue.

                    • @utsc: I also wonder whether it works with overseas IP :)

  • Those 80gb is that at 6.6GB per month or is 80GB per month?

    • 80GB for a year

  • The voucher is not yet expired

    • Code expired.

      • No it's still working now it's 144 dollars
        160 dollars minus 16

        • Apologies, code did not work earlier but then tried again and it worked. Looks like the other seller pricejacked as well so code was not working

      • +1

PLUSSAVE works saving 10%, but that's not really a deal given the starting price is BS

    • Thanks. Just order 1 from them.

    • Thanks just ordered from them

  • Anyone know if you'll be able to recharge normally the same plan after this expires?

There was some talk about only being able to recharge if you activated before 10th August. I know recharge is available if you're on this plan now, but what if you purchased this and need to recharge in 12 months time

    • It'll be the $200 plan next time, or whatever replaces it. Intended to move 3 family members to Boost but hit this snag, so took them to Woolworths mobile instead.

      • Were you on this plan then couldn't recharge?

Definitely if you activated on this plan earlier you could still recharge (for how much longer I'm not sure but the recharge is still available online as an existing customer). Trying to work out if new customers on this $150 plan will be able to recharge the same as existing

        • Same concern. My plan will expire in Dec and the recharge option is still available atm.

    • According to Boost, for new activation you will not be able to recharge on the same plan after the completion of 12 month.

Actually there are still recharge options available. For example the $150 recharge voucher purchased from a convenient store or service station with ePay terminal has expiry date in July 2022

I just experienced an overwhelming distress with boost when porting from postpaid Dodo. Initially they said something wrong with the sim and asked me to buy $2 sim to activate, then they said something wrong with my information on my driver license and asked me to go to Telstra local store to verify and ask Telstra staffs to help me out with activation. After verification, Telstra staff made some notes and gave me the ref num, but they refused to help me activate as they said it was out of their hands. Later on, i contacted the boost again and they said there is still incorrect information and system cannot verified me, i did sent boost staff the ref num from Telstra but they said they cannot find the note. And i strongly believe they are using the same system as their first letter of reference number is the same. I just don’t know what to do, maybe i come to Telstra store tomorrow and call boost
Ps: there was no issue with me with verification before as i have changed from aldi to boost to telstra and latest is Dodo

    • Since Dodo is postpaid, did you enter Dodo account number during your activation? If not, this is what causing the issue.

      • All done per request.

  • Can anyone advise, currently I am on the 80/365/150 plan which expires next May 2021.

As it stands, once this plan runs out, is it correct that I can still recharge for $150 for 80gb/365 again?

Or what happens if I buy one of these. Can I port out and then back in again a month later and once this plan expires then recharges are then set to 85GB/365 days for $200 recharge?

Or do either option above still reset or recharge at the boost site for $200 / 85GB / 365 day?

    The Boost website says:
    $150 PREPAID RECHARGE
80GB FOR 12 MONTHS. RECHARGE AVAILABLE TO CUSTOMERS WHO ACTIVATE BEFORE 10 AUGUST

so I am guessing it means exactly that, which if activated before the 10th of Aug 2020 then a $150 recharge for 80GB/365 applies.

    • Whilst anything can change between now and May…

As it stands right now, If you're already on the plan and it expires in May. U should be able to recharge in may with the same $150 80g 12 month plan.

There is always a possibility that they decide to close out the plan altogether between now and may…

Otherwise u can port out and port back In onto one of their new plans. U wouldn't be able to go back to the $150 plan however unless u had a 150 prepaid starter

    • Yes, you are correct that you can still recharge on the same plan. Boost will not force you on to the $200 plan, you can either recharge on the same plan or port out to a different carrier. Boost is a Pre-paid service provider

      • Which carrier is the easiest one that can be used to port out to and then port in to Boost?

        • I have used AmaySim and KoganMobile to port into Boost, which both took only minutes or 2 - 5 or 10 mins.

          • @zztrader: Thanks. Do you know any carrier that doesn't require topup to activate?

I know Telstra does not, but I heard porting from Telstra is not very straightforward and needs a blank sim card.

            • @Bargain Fighter: If you chat with Boost on their site or give them a call they will assist in getting you a blank sim.

I dont know which ones require any topup as when porting out to free issued Amaysim it was already a $10 credit on that particular sim which I used until was ready to port back to Boost. It depends on the sim you get or what that sim offers when you get it.

I would suggest to scan around for low end deals and sometimes free sims with a bit of credit.

              Good luck with that 👍
