Wow, eBay is killing it! Prime day is quite depressing.

    • +3

Idk about that, there's been quite a few great Prime deals

  • Crazy price.

  • +2

Price hasn't been confirmed yet, keep posting them so CA knows what to jack.

    • +5

computer alliance doesnt seems to jack their price though

  • Plus flash doesn't seem to work with my free eBay trial?

    • +1

      Deal starts(Coupon starts working):
13 Oct 8:00pm–13 Oct 9:00pm (Flash sale starts 8pm AEDT, ends 9pm AEDT)
      I believe :)

    • +6

You've been excluded from the deal for not reading.

      • I didn't see that in the T&Cs

  • +2

Just word of advice whilst this is a great deal, the CB process can take up to 60 days as I was told by their rep. I have been waiting for just over 1 month now and still nothing.

    • +1

Yep that's right, I bought one of these drives during a cashback period last year and it took about a month and a half

      • Still better than Calvin Klein cash rewards was waiting 1 year for it to get approved…

    • I had done a claim last time (got the 4tb Samsung 860 evo from these guys), lodged on 28th July and got the cashback on August 25th

    • On my last claim did take a bit longer than expected for CB to come through but it does work.

  • +1

From experience it takes only a couple of days to approve the claim but a bit over a month to receive the cash back.

  • Will this work in ps5?

    • +1

No, this has the PCIe 3.0 while PS5 requires PCIe 4

      • Phew thanks bro saved my a$$

        • +3

Also note not all PCIe 4.0 SSDs will be compatible, you'll need to wait for confirmed compatible devices.

      • Better off waiting for confirmed SSD's, as per the above comment.

      • +1

Technically (and theoretically) the drive should work in the PS5, you'll just be limited to the performance of the PCIe 3.0 bus (~3.5GB/s) instead of the full speed of PCIe 4.0 (up to ~6GB/s). We won't know for certain until the actual console ships, exactly what the performance requirements are, but I'd be surprised if a PCIe 3.0 drive showed a significant performance difference compared to the stock PCIe 4.0 drive.

        • I believe the console won’t use it unless it’s a PCIe 4 drive reguardless of actual SSD speeds

          • +2

@FireRunner: Do you have the source of where you saw that? I've only been hearing the opposite. I'd be curious to know for sure. Technically, PCIe 4.0 is fully backwards compatible with PCIe 3.0, so there should be zero technical limitations to using such a drive. It would only be a "Sony" move to software lock the use of PCIe 3.0 drives, which would be a major disappointment.

            • +1

@joshau: According to this article you need an SSD to match the internal SSD speeds at which PCIe 3 cannot reach. So only some PCIe 4 SSDs will actually work

  • geez. Looking for a 2tb and above?

  • Anyone know how this compares to the adata xpg sx8200 pro?

    • Apart from the Samsung PRO line-up, the EVO Plus are pretty much the best consumer PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD's you can buy on the market.

      • That's all i needed to know haha, cheers

        • I'm told the HP EX950 are better than the Samsung Pro?

          • @Axed: HP EX950 are not in the same tier as Samsung Pro or Samsung EVO Plus line up. I'd classify them in the "mid-tier", along the lines of the XPG SX8200 (In fact, the HP EX950 might as well be the exact same drive, it uses the same Flash and Flash controller as the SX8200).

It's probably placed above the Kingston A2000 but below the Evo Plus line-ups. That said, there is very little practical difference between the SX8200/EX950 and the 970 EVO Plus, at that point, it's all down objective facts and figures (eg. X drive is faster in Y benchmark).

            • @joshau: So the Samsung Pro is the Best?

              • @Axed: Pretty much. But they're much more expensive than the EVO Plus, for very little tangible benefit. If you're doing something extremely data intensive, that requires the lowest latency possible, then get a Samsung Pro, otherwise, just get the EVO Plus.

(This applies to the PCIe 3.0 Pro and EVO Plus, there is now a Samsung Pro PCIe 4.0, but that's in a separate class, so it's not really a comparison)

  • Jfc, so many insane deals today on OzB

  • I would like to DIY a SSD external drive for use with Xbox One X now, and planning to upgrade to XSX in the next 6 months. Very confused with SATA, M2 and which is the best for an external drive. Probably want to keep the price to below $200 for the drive and housing. Any recommendations?

    • Microsoft said it would only work properly on XSX with their proprietary drive.

    • You'll need to use the confirmed Seagate SSD for XSX, until there are some more confirmed SSDs / third party options available. Otherwise, you'll be stuck with one that only stores games and you'll have to transfer to the internal SSD to actually play the games.. some further info here - https://www.techradar.com/news/ps5-and-xbox-series-x-storage…

    • Thanks, yes i realise that this would be to play Xbox One games and perhaps cold storage for Series X|S games. I think the Sandisk SSD is the way to go.

  • WOW cheap af. Don't need another but at that price.

  • Unreal, I was hoping for a cheap Kingston but at this price I'd happily go Samsung. Can anybody advise how cashback is claimed?

  • Can I claim more than once? Tempting to get another 1TB nvme.

    • I don't believe there is a limit to the claims you can make.

  • I can't seem to get the $233 price even though i have ebay plus, can someone post the discount code? Or did they revert it? Because i can only see 10%

    • +1

      start at 8pm.

  • Anyone know it can be stacked with the $10 shopback?

    • Yes it can I think. But only one transaction can get the bonus

      • Thanks mate. Good deal.

  • Damn I just ordered this last week for $203.90 after CB. Hasn't arrived yet. So this is a really good deal.
Edit: Anyone know if returns are free for ebay plus members?

    • Yes it’s free you willl get a free return label as eBay plus member , or you can just reject the delivery and inform the seller?

  • How can I do cash back please? Someone tell me. OP redirects me to Samsung website. After that, what do I click?

    • +1

You need to wait for the invoice, as samsung website will require you to upload proof of purchase, take a picture and then upload.
