I bought these at the last deal too.
In that time I've given them a real workout and they are going strong. Great deal for $79

  • +6

Trying to work out the renewed condition thing…to me sounds like they are new but have damaged retail packaging? Trying to picture how they have all these used spanners they have reconditioned lol. but what the hell the 24mm alone is worth the money for me

    • You Canna Hand a Man a Pre-handed Spanner

    • So the spanned set arrived - Brand new in packaging 👌

  • +1

I've been holding out for a bargain offset reversible but this is too cheap.

Cheap enough to throw into the fourby if I do get a better set.

    • +1

Yes offset would be kinder on the knuckles but price is pretty good so I got one too

    • +1

Holding out for the 9602N too

      • For seventy nine schmackos, I'd get this one on too of that.

        • I don't really need the bigger sizes so I could get the smaller set as ratcheting for a similar price.

I don't need them often either.

Happy to hold out and get the extras (that I may never use) for the same price :p

Frankly 85210D is probably all I need.

bargain, total tools lists them for $319, grabbed some for the landy

    • +1

You're taking bush mechanic to new levels.

  • +1

Cheers OP. Just grabbed a set to replace my cheapo Aldi set.

  • +1

Awesome been hanging out for a decent set. Cheers op

  • Is this brand well known?

    • +2

      Ah well, pulled the trigger

    • +1

      yep

  • I’m guessing no Offset on these? As I can’t find anything mentioning that.
Can anyone confirm who has them?
    Cheers.

    • +1

I have them… No offset and non reversible gear… My non ratcheting spanners are offset so these were a great complimentary set for them.

      • +2

No point reversing non-offset spanners. You just flip them over

      • Thanks

  • +1

    Thanks OP. got one

  • Hmm…looks like a weights set at my local gym

  • +1

    No offset. No good.

Great price if you don’t mind the lack of offset

    • i agree, offset is important. not sure why this isn't done

      • +1

With a offset design you need to have a switch.
With these you just need to flip the box end for loose/tighten.

    • +1

Good thing I don’t even know what this is.

  • hmm can't add to cart

  • Can't add to cart or Buy it now!! Looks like its Sold out.

  • why can't I add to cart?

  • +1

Think the show is over everyone.

  • +3

Thank god for that. Really wanted it but didn't need it. Went to purchase, no go. Wahoo I win. Money stays in pocket.

Just a couple of days ago I was working on something thinking "I need ratcheting spanners for this" so guess I'll take a punt on these. Haven't tried any "Amazon renewed" stuff before, hopefully in good condition.

If you don't need all the sizes and need imperial as well, there is a 20 piece set for $103.31 from Amazon Global
    "Includes SAE sizes: 1/4, 5/16, 11/32, 3/8, 7/16, 1/2, 9/16, 5/8, 11/16 and 3/4 in, Includes metric sizes: 6, 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18mm"

How do the Capri Tools ones compare with these btw? Noticed they have some 100 tooth 3.6 degree ones (though nowhere near this price, just curious)

    • +1

Not sure about their spanners, but I have a Capri 1/2 ratchet for a couple of years. Abused the shit out of it cuz it's my cheapest ratchet. It still feels like new when used except for the dents and grease on it.

  • Just buy the sizes you need, never needed more than 2

    • +2

And when you do need more. You pay through the teeth to get the right size.

  • Always need a size 10 for something.

  • Just use a $2 shifter or normal spanner for the rest…

  • OSS

  • Use your teeth

  • Damn, missed it again.

  • +1

    back in stock now

    • +1

Thanks, just bought! Any recs for a good value for money metric socket set?

  • +2

    Price creep. $81.99 now.

    • Over $100 now

  • +1

    $103.17 delivered.

  • +1

considering its 1/3 of the full price is it still worth it for $103.17 ? I've been wanting a set of ratcheting ones for a while

  • Now $126.86.

Looks like I missed the boat.

  • +1

    $126.86 for me now … feels like a stock I don't own

    • and its still going up… now its $135 :/

      • I'm guessing demand side pricing

  • +1

Give it a break for a few days and check back the link if you want to buy, price should go down.

    • Will try. Better than the non ratchet set I was looking at Supercheap, especially around $80.

  • Don't know much about wrenches but this seems to be a good set for value too? https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0745LSPRD?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_s…

    • Those aren't ratcheting which is what has got everyone excited about these

  • +1

$155 now ! I have these ( think i ozbargain'd them brand new for around this price in the Masters close down ) and they are very good ,and very useful . Aldi also have some very cheap ratcheting spanners from time to time that are useful but nowhere near as good as these .Couple of points in the conversation - yes they are a well known and great brand . 2 . i believe these would actually be repaired warranty returned items, not just damaged retail packaging as someone stated. Ratcheting spanners are well known to be troublesome especially if over torqued or misused ,Gearwrench would be no different i'm sure you'd find plenty online reviews that have had returns.

  • $212.35 now. Got mine today and it appears to be brand new in original packaging :)

  • +1

also got mine today and they are brand new in original packaging. Cheers OP for the find!

  • +1

Chiming back in to say I've received mine and they're brand new in original packaging - just one corner of the shrink wrap was torn open. Well worth it!

  • +1

Weird find. I ordered the 20pc mixed metric and imperial one from Amazon https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07GSCZCPM?ref_=pe_2361882_2952…. At the time it wasn’t too much more than the metric set. It was $103.31 with free prime shipping.

It clearly advertises that it includes a roll up bag, which was what made me decide to go with this one as I was looking to store them in a roll bag anyway and figured it would include all the sizes and fit perfectly. I’m not sure if they forgot to include it or if they’ve changed the item packaging and it’s no lo her included and just haven’t updated the listing? Either way when it arrived there was no bag.

I contacted Amazon support who agreed the listing was misleading and provided a $40 discount plus a free 1 month extension to Prime. So all up it cost me $103.31 - $40 - $6.99 = $56.32 an absolute bargain considering these seem to be excellent quality.

I can’t say for sure everyone else would receive the same discount but if you have ordered one of these and it didn’t arrive with the bag it’s worth reaching out to Amazon support and seeing how you go.
