I actually can't decide if I like this or not. What a strange creation.

Chicken to bun ratio definitely looks inadequate.

      This.

      • +11

        Why is this downvoted?

        • +19

Upvoted you both, negging jerks. Fight the system!

      • +5

On its surface I would agree, but kfc buns are the marshmallow of the bread world. A bun can be squeezed down to a ball the size of a 5c piece

    • +4

Wouldn't be surprised if half of it is empty, especially in the middle.

    • -2

      Great ā€œskinā€ ration though.

    • It's from KFC so it must be good!!!

      • +2

At this point in time I think KFC is now deliberately trying to kill us.

        God speed in their mission.

  • +22

I want to try this abomination.

    • +9

      abunination

    • +1

I tried it. I could take it or leave it.

      • +1

No you couldnā€™t. You took it.

        • +2

          Wish I left it.

  • +68

This is not a creation, this is just coz they have tons of expring popcorns and bread in fridge.

    • -2

I thought the exact same thing when I saw it!! They've got too many popcorns in the freezer and are figuring out a way to get rid of them.

    • +1

Gross profit combined with near off stock, is the mother of invention.

      • Never eat anything from the specials menu overseas

        • Fish chowder is always a Sunday night special!

    • +1

If you pay attention, you'll start to notice that at KFC, quite a lot of the "for a limited time" specials are actually simple re-combinations of existing KFC ingredients.

Someone at KFC HQ is macgyvering stuff like this as their job.

    Colonel just doesn't stop innovating

  • +12

Does anyone remember the subs kfc had maybe 10-12 years ago? They had 2 pieces of the crispy strips in them.

    • -7

      Thats red rooter not kfc

    • +4

I remember, one of them was actually pretty good too.

    • +7

Yep, KFC Fillers. They were amazing but they'll never be able to recreate it until they bring back the real crispy strips.

      • The recent BBQ slider reminded me of the BBQ filler from back in the day. Obviously much smaller, but the sauce, strip and even the sliders bread tasted how I at least remembered the filler to taste back in the day.

Maybe itā€™s entirely different and my memory is playing tricks on me but.

    • +1

      You have good memory sir…:)

    • +1

YES! The Honey Mustard one was my favourite but the Ceasar one was pretty spectacular too

    • yes!! Fillers these were the bomb-tiggity!!!

Pocketfuls were also awesome back in my day

    • +2

Red Rooster strip sub is where it's at, yummy.

    • +1

I'm waiting on the tower burger to come back. I buy the stacker now but it's not the same.

  • +2

    Oh dear.

  • -4

And we wonder why our kids are getting fat at younger and younger ages. This is just foul (and I love a nice KFC. This is not it)

    • +53

I think you mean this is fowl :)

      • LOL! Yes indeed :)

    • +14

      i don't wonder.
      It's what you're feeding them.

      • +20

Leave my fat piglett kids out of this…

        • +1

I don't want to know what you make them eat…

        • +2

I feed my kids an unforgettable luncheon every day of steamed hams, complete with the aroura borealis at this time of year at this time of day in this part of the country localized entirely within my kitchen.

          • +2

            @JuiceT: Delightfully devilish!

          • +1

@JuiceT: And you call them steamed hams, despite the fact that they are obviously grilled?

      • -1

Perhaps I should have said "your kids" I don't have any, I just see fat children scoffing this stuff.

    • +6

Our kids are getting fatter at younger and younger ages because their parents bathe them in harmful advertising and propaganda from conception onwards. Fast food chains specifically target the under eight years of age because doing so has a high chance of creating dumb lifelong consumers.

The propaganda and advertising informs the victims that cheap unhealthy food, such as grains, is healthy after it's been processed into expensive junk food such as breakfast cereal and bread as well as creating scenarios where they constantly overeat such as getting them to start the day with breakfast cereals.

      • I knew the advertising industry was powerful, but I didn't realise they have breached the zygote barrier.

    • +4

Speak for yourself, my kids aren't fat. Did you ever think that maybe it's not always someone else's fault?

  • +17

Where is the bargain? This is more like an, announcement?

  • +4

Cheaper to just buy a maxi popcorn chicken for $7.95. Looking at the pic you only get about 35 pieces here. Would be more of a deal if they filled it with tenders at that price.

    • thats is if they make it like the picture, most likely you wont get 5x7 across

      • True, probably 5x7 at the edges pictured only just for the photo, realistically probably just about 10 thrown in.

  • +5

    Isnā€™t 9 pieces for $9.95 coming back on tuesdays…?

    • Yeah it's back, just have to order on the app

  • +2

Better deal can be had with the ongoing Fill Up and do what I do, sandwich the chicken tender with the bun slathered with some 'tato 'n' gravy. At the price of $4.99 for the lot, it is simply scrumptious.

  • +1

Wonder if I could put 2-4 zinger patties on it instead lol

  • Going to be getting the 9 pieces of original recipe for $9.95 today.

  • 2020 just keeps on giving.

  • +5

They just keep pumping out with weird shit, when all I want them to bring back is corn cob on a stick buttered up, ahhh the 90's.

    • Or chicken croqeuttes.

    • Bring back the damn Colonel (aka Snacker) burger!

  • -1

Whenā€™s this available ? Not on there website?

    • their
      or
      them there

      • +2

There is a theory that when people spellcheck others online for their incorrect spelling/grammar, they're expressing frustrations borne elsewhere ;).

  • +5

It'll be like load fries: good idea, horrible execution by the actual stores.

  • -7

No bargain. This isn't Reddit or a forum.

    • +6

Technically speaking it is a forum.

  • +4

    DINNER ROLL - $0.95 each
    Regular Popcorn Chicken - $5.95

    • +3

      that's 6 x dinner rolls.

      • or go buy own buns from Coles for $2 bag of 6

edit - hmm cheese n sauce

      • Which is why I put each in there

  • +1

This or the other 9.95 tuesday deal?

  • Just because you can doesn't mean you should….

..mind you i think i have to try it now….damn you colonel !

  • +1

two fill up boxes would be better value

  • +15

Pretty sick of seeing non deals posted. Not a deal just the regular price of the product.

    • +6

That's what we're here for, to vote it away from the front page.
I love a KFC bargain, but this just isn't one of them. Appreciate the effort anyway OP.

      • yet still made it to front…how?

        • +4

Just like everything KFC, you see the scrumptious offering, you think you desperately need it, then you feel dirty immediately after having it.
          So satisfying.
