How much do they pay you? I assume you prefer to pay full price which is why you're on ozbargain?

      • $30 for some Chinese made undies?
I doubt many people would pay full price

        • +1

People pay $1000 plus for Chinese Made Apple Phones … China produce from Grade 1 to Grade 100,000 Quality … You can't say if its from China, its not good.

  • +21

It was all a publicly stunt to increase google reputation and get people onto the website. Absolute scum move. Lost any respect for this company.

  • +6

Maybe they should spend less time on marketing and more time in back of house training.

  • Someone can have my code: TXPCJSVC

  • +1

Good marketing? See this quite often
    😂😂😂

  • +1

Might be a nice opportunity to apply as an in-house IT specialist? Surely Greg jumps at the chance

  • +8

I thought Greg said he’d honour it and each individual would choose to either cancel and receive a 20% discount or keep the order? Doesn’t seem to be an honest company.!! After doing a little research it Looks like this has been done in the past, and in my opinion this company is phishing for emails to spam!

  • +14

So they just got all our data for free? Yeah smart move greg! This is how you get bad reviews online

    • +3

Correct all the data gained and time people wasted Greg solution is a standard 50% off his overpriced jocks .

      • Hey Peeps,
As mentioned in other posts all data will be purged & deleted and will not be used for any purpose.
        Very sorry,
        Regards
        Greg

    • +5

Put yourself in Greg shoes. Nothings free in life.

      • +1

Where can I buy Greg shoes

  • +3

Interesting reply - I'll take the half price deal as they are apparently decent boxers and it was a long shot to get them for free…

Having said that I'd like to see some commentary around them deleting the significant amount of personal data they got at not cost.

    • +1

      Hey Mike,
I will personally ensure we will purge all data related to any order we have cancelled due to this issue.
Please let me know if you'd like any further clarification.
      Regards
      Greg

      • +6

Greg, you do realise your clientele base will take big hits if you continue to operate like this.
I for one will make sure all my staff members tell there mates not to your use your business going forward after 2 failed attempts at this.

        • +4

I'm well aware and have an enormous job now to fix it. I can assure you no one in their right mind would deliberately make a mistake like this and have to deal with this amount of negativity about the brand. I guarantee all data will be deleted/purged. All I can do is apologise and not make it again. Regards, Greg

          • +6

@Step One Underwear: I know you have apologised…but you apologised the last time as well…….

Disappointing from a consumer point of you who actually spun a legit deal and was told the system was hacked.

            That within itself is misleading.

      • Thanks for the excuses. How would we know that you delete all our data?

      • +1

Thanks for the reply mate - realise you've got a busy few hours ahead. I don't need any further info on this, if you've said it's all going to be purged then so be it.

Is the coupon eligible for one pair only at 50% off?

I'd like to order a number of pairs of it's across the order - is that something you can do?

  • +4

The problem is the code was not generated by a back-end but hardcoded in the Javascript. That's a massive mistake.

However I was interested in trying them anyway, so will bite on the 50% off.

    • -1

Yep, we know. Our bad. All data will be deleted/purged so you will not receive any marketing emails.
      Regards
      Greg

      • I already received a marketing email from you.

  • +3

Wow incredible and publicly shame the "culprits" How do i report you to authorities this a absolute sham

  • Dear Nick
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but we had a tech issue whereby a $29 code which was meant to be unique, was created but was not unique.
The code was posted to a few coupon sites and we had an enormous volume of orders come through. Far more than our marketing budget had allowed for :(
This is our bad and lesson learnt. Unfortunately, we simply cannot afford to honour free pairs so have to cancel your order.

    • +6

      Hi Nick

    • -3

Lucky they didn't swap N and D around.

  • +2

Got the cancellation email too, so if anyone interested my 50% OFF coupon is CWW8HSGQ

I wanted to give it a go but don't think I would have liked the underwear anyway… 🙊

I wonder if lesson was actually learned this time…

  • +2

if this is an error, I hope they will delete all our details, and will never recieve marketing emails

    • -5

      Hey Dan,
Yep, this will be done. Very sorry.
      Regards
      Greg

  • Email received order cancelled, and they gave 50% off code.

    • Enjoy free balling

  • +4

lol pass. unsubscribed from all emails.

also, since I'm in jail from the free spin, looks like I can never be your customer. get me out of jail first.

    • -1

At the very least I can offer to pay your bail? Super sorry and again our bad.
      All data has been purged/deleted.
      Regards
      Greg

  • -1

It's not the companies fault ozbargain exploited them. The underwear are great and worth the price. I won a pair legitimately on the wheel but have just purchased for 50% off as it's still a good deal.

This is why we can't have nice things……

    • Appreciate your kind comments Q.
      Regards
      Greg

    • +8

That’s my thoughts as well. They’re going really harsh on Greg. I have a really strong 6th sense and this is telling me that it was just a glitch in the system. Nothing was made deliberately. We have to support businesses at times like this. It’s just a pair of undies. I mean who wears them anyways? 😂

      • yeah, i really don't know why everyone's got their boxers in a twist in here

  • Greg has a long fun weekend ahead… replying to 12k orders 🤣🤣🤣

    • +3

      Yep, fiance is stoked :)
      Apols Jack.
      Regards
      Greg

      • -2

Because you got all of this free advertising and our contact details?

  • I got to watch grass grow… for free
    Joy.

  • +3

Received the cancellation email and im gonna be raining hard on them. Far out. What a waste of time.
Business is tough. Its a dog eat dog world out there. Make a mistake? Honor the orders made and fire the culprit.

    • +9

Strongly disagree. Have some heart. Someone who made an honest mistake shouldn’t be fired just because you don’t get a free pair of underwear.

      • an "honest mistake". My local coffee shop got my orders wrong worth $50 and they completely replaced everything for me. Its high time consumers start getting what they deserve for their time. I'm in marketing. We triple check everything before launching campaigns - this is not just an "honest mistake" this is damage to the brand reputation. Good PR is to honour those orders. Rather than doing the latter at the expense of neg brand rep.

        • +8

The difference in your example and this is that you paid $50 for the coffee.

In this case you didn’t pay anything, but instead knowingly exploited a code from a small business offering a fun promotion.

          • +1

@Devils Advocate: You'd be surprised to find out the true cost of the item. LOL
Anyway, that's not the issue. the matter of fact is that they could have handled the issue better. the repercussions will come in due time.

            • +1

@Sharknado88: Ha yeah agreed the RRP is way overpriced.

The loss of time for everyone is unfortunate, so I see your point. I think the response was ok (50% off), but can see your point of view if you’re worried about data/getting advertised at as well.

        • Ok Karen. If not an honest mistake, then just a mistake.

  • +3

Pay for quality e-commerce teams or get ozbargained.

    • +1

Yep, this is strike 2, no strike 3.
      Lesson learnt :(
      Regards
      Greg

      • +7

Yep, this is strike 2, no strike 3.
        Lesson learnt :(

About the 15th time you’ve said that with no lesson learnt

      • +3

        Lesson learnt :(

I'll believe it when I see it.

    • +2

Or it’s a good a team which done the same strategies here before ?!

  • +10

Great Marketing. Easy way to get 1000s of contacts and a few new customers

    • +3

As mentioned above we didn't do this deliberately, we don't operate that way. All emails and data will be purged/deleted so you will not receive any marketing from us.
      Very sorry,
      Regards
      Greg

      • +2

I've already received a marketing email.

        • Give them time to get on top of everything

  • Promo Ended

  • Would have been better to use a generic code for this 50% off! Unique code makes for easier targeting in future…. 😉

Would have liked to try them, but not upset they were cancelled.

  • +8

Ok so for what it's worth, for all the guys on here asking if the product is any good, the answer is yes. I've had mine now for almost 12 months and I won't wear anything else now.

They are however overpriced. The ads are cringeworthy and the only real benefit of getting them from step one directly is the choice of colours.

If you're after this style, I highly recommend getting them from The perfect underwear website. https://theperfectunderwear.com/

Their prices are also ridiculous, but they have regular 50% and up discount codes.

Also… Poor form on the data collection "mistake". Once is forgivable, but this isn't.

50% off is the right price in my opinion.

    • +4

100% agree! Great underwear, annoying ads, overpriced at full price and poor form with their marketing 'mistakes'.

    • Had a couple for a few weeks, and planning to get more with a decent sale - but still wondering how long they last. Any deets?

  • +5

Is there anyway I can change my vote to a neg?

  • +4

I placed an order on a pair, which came down to $2. Not for free and I still haven't got an email back if I will be refunded.

    • +1

They should at least honour those orders. Pretty shitty of them.

        • +9

Using a code as described is not 'defrauding.' Get over yourself Danny

        • +3

What's your deal? You seem very heavily invested. Using a publicly available code given out by them to sign up for a freebie is hardly defrauding. This is an absolutely common thing for companies to do. In return they have our data and a new customer with the possibility of future sales.

Their mistake borderlines on stupidity. Just because they accidentally messed up does NOT make the rest of us fraudsters.

I accept it was a mistake and they'll purge my data and that's really all there is to it.

  • +10

After the statement I don't believe this is a marketing ploy. It seems they messed up with the coding for the promo and didn't invest enough towards IT. This keeps happenning regularly on ozbargain where everyone jumps on these freebies that were meant for a specific group of people, maybe we shouldnt be allowing these posts anymore.

    • +2

      https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/discounts/create-discount…

It's Shopify. It's literally Lego blocks for ecommerce

      • What does Shopify have to do with anything? Sure their store runs on Shopify but that means nothing at all. Are we now going to blame the data center their server is located in? The simple fact of the matter is their code which apparently should generate unique codes, never did generate unique codes because it's a single hard coded coupon code in a JavaScript file. The fault if their own and they have now lied about what happened.

  • surely there is an AliExpress alternative for these.. (without the branding ofc)

    • +1

Let us know if you find them.

  • I’ve got 2 pairs. One older which seem to be lasting a lot better than the newer ones. Will get one at 50% which seems solid, hopefully get the first pair quality.

  • +8

Started getting Facebook ads from these guys already, funny how things work out in their favour 👌

    • Facebook gets paid to track you. So why not?

    • Probably a remarketing audience segment.

You can opt out of them or click them if you want to drain their ad budget.

I have received a marketing email from them already.

  • +20

This store should be banned from ozbargain, they keep on having chances but they never learn. They have gotten our personal information and don’t deserve anymore chances

    • The store didn't actually post this on ozbargain. Someone worked out a hack that people used knowing that it was a hack. The store responded. Not sure what else they should have done?

  • +21

This store needs to be banned from ozbargain.

    • The store couldn't have dealt with both issues in any kinder fashion. Anyone who was seriously considering being a genuine customer in future would take a pair for $15. Why should they fund the freeloaders on this site who originally tried to exploit their promo? Different story if they sent this promo to everyone then realised they couldn't fund it

      • +2

        Get over yourself Danny

  • And just received a cancellation order….

    Oh well.

  • +14

Why is everyone tearing strips off him? It was clearly a coding error, meant to be a bit of fun - incentive to have a spin and check out the product. He has said they will delete all the data and has given everyone a 50% off code. I think it's a little unfair to be tearing into him the way some people are. Mistakes happen! And to be fair, the last time this happened it wasn't as simple as entering a code - you had to do some sneaky cart & order sequence to get them.

Yeah they mucked up, but I don't think was a ploy to get all your details or flood you with ads. I think some of you should take off your tin foil hats and calm down - not everyone is out to exploit you.

If the wheel worked as expected no one would be crying wolf right now, so just chill.

I know this is going to be negged, but I'm going to say it anyway.

    • +2

If the wheel worked as expected no one would be crying wolf right now, so just chill.

The wheel works as intended though. The JavaScript file has a hard coded coupon code and their claim that it is supposed to generate a unique code is bs.

      • Okay, so it is on the person who coded the wheel.
I don't think the person organising it though would've intended for that to happen. I am only speculating, but I would think it was meant to be all unique codes.
