2340

Released just a few hours ago - a new game from Nintendo available for free to anyone with a Nintendo Switch Online subscription.

    I give you a like.

Easier to win than Tetris 99 for me so far, obviously only 35 compared to 99 helps.

No matter how good you think you are, there’s always a 12 year old kid in Korea that’ll crush you

        Japan**

      • +3

You'll rarely encounter a Korean in console games as the vast majority of gamers in Korea are PC gamers. I've only seen a handful of gaming friends in Korea who had a Switch or PS4 and everyone else was crazy addicted to League/Overwatch on their PC. But yeah, some of them were crazy good.

  • Waiting for multiplayer Contra please.

    • Oh baby… spray gun or laser?

      • Laser for days!

    • up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, AB select start

  • Nintendo: CEASE AND DESIST
Also Nintendo: We can profit from this.

    • Typical Nintendo

    • +8

Well they do own the game.

Let’s threaten to financially ruin this man for combining his idea with our game for fun, then combine our game with his idea for profit.

How do the soles of Nintendo’s shoes taste?

        • -3

How does your brain make these giant leaps in reasoning?
He was altering and distributing their game. Pretty sure that justifies a cease and desist.
Also what profit? The game is FREE, or do you think people are subscribing just for this?

          • @Gehirn: I’m not familiar with the letter of US intellectual property law, but I’m pretty sure old mate could have defended his game under fair use if he had his own Disney / Mr Burns tier legal team like Nintendo.

Valve didn’t sue the creators of CounterStrike for “stealing” Half Life assets — they gave them jobs.

As for the game being “free”, do you think Netflix licences content to draw new subscribers, or do they do it from the kindness of their hearts?

            • @Ozybargdias: Mario has been remade many times, there is a version to test ai on even easily found online, not to mention the portal version.

  • What a bargain !

……..which would be missing the point of 35 player battle royale super mario.

    • +13

I… uh… just play Super Mario Bros?

    • +2

get the super nintendo app in store then.. ?

  • People playing until sudden death aka red timer. Seems like the way to win is stars, can get 100secs if lucky.

  • -4

How much is it normally ?

    • That ship has sailed from recent past…

  • You need paid Nintendo membership account to play.

    • +6

That's literally in the title… Nintendo Switch Online is a subscription service.

      • +1

I would assume a small number of people would be unsure if Nintendo Switch Online is free or has a free tier which is where akplayer was going with their question

        • +1

Family memberships can be split which makes it under $8 yearly pretty cheap if you ask me

        • Yes, I didn't knew. Creating account is free, but being member is not. Thanks @spb
