  • The Corsair force 3 looks like good value though

    full HD+ 1280P video

    …what could possibly go wrong.

    • that's 200 pixels that can fail before you notice image degradation :)

    • No mini HDMI cable included
    • Crappy touch screen
    • No .mkv support
    • USB recharge, or buy your own power adapter
    • Questionable build quality - looks like a melting butter cube
    • Instructions in 'Engrish' - and not the cute hilarious kind
    • Screen brightness/colours suck.
    • +1

mkv is listed under SD video formats and your point about the build quality looks more like a personal opinion

    • looks alright value for $80 I'm not sure if you need to be smokin weed to see a melting butter cube?

    • My thots on some of yours:

      • No mini HDMI cable included

. Don't we all have one, from other gear (eg compact camera), by now?

      • Crappy touch screen

. I hope to use it to watch TED & Forar.tv talks
so, how often do I need to see it work?

      • No .mkv support

. I'm behind the times; what is it & why might I need it?

      • USB recharge, or buy your own power adapter

. Don't we all have one, from other gear (eg mobile or GPS), by now?

      • Questionable build quality - looks like a melting butter cube

. Looks can be deceiving; have you had one at hand to confirm your theory?

      • Instructions in 'Engrish' - and not the cute hilarious kind

. Consider it a challenge to help keep your mind sharp; if that fails to charm,
. then maybe just extrapolate from what you know from similar devices…
. OR look for others who solved these puzzles before you, in a forum. ;-)

      • Screen brightness/colours suck

. Oy! Now, this could be a deal-killer for me. How bad are they?
. is there any work-around? (Eg, any untried control, yet to be found?)

      I've ordered one & I hope I won't be too disappointed.
(Of course, if I am, I guess I could give it away…)

Maybe it could be used as a poor-person's media streamer,
eg, for a large-screen TV or monitor (with HDMI port)?

(Hopefully, it would send truer colors & brightness sig's
to the HDMI device…? What'cha think, folks? Opinions?)

  • Doesn't this conflict each other?

    •Display Type: 5.0-Inch Touchescreen (16:9); 800x480 Dot-Matrix
    •Video Resolution: Max Support 1920 x 1280P Output

    • no, the device has a 5" display, but the video output to the TV is 1920x1280

  • looks only drawback is lack of MKV at 1080p, but others ok there.

Plug in Personal 3D viewer, i.e. coming models without box, and you have 720p 3D on the move!

  • Again, ordering more than one item in same shipment can save a small group of friends $$ on shipping. Eg, $14 can ship at least 3 units to same address.

  • How well does it work as a smaller-screen eBook reader?

Has anyone seen one doing that kind of task?

PS Also, how well can you see / read screen content, eg,
in daylight? (Would it work in a car, on a beach,
    out camping, etc?)

  • I did receive mine today and can say the screen is quite small. Couldn't read anything as the screen is smashed. and not usable at all. Sent back for refund as promised in Tax Invoice.
