I've been playing the demo version of this every single time I needed my tetris fix. Never needed to upgrade to the full version and never will.

Have you played Tetris 99 ? It's free on switch membership

Tetris 99 on the free for online thing is just for online though - you can't do two player without buying the dlc, which I think is fairly cheap anyway.

        Both are excellent games BTW

    • What if $1?

      • Yeah I'd probably bite at that price but probably not at $15 since that can get me multiple indie titles.

Haha. Wife and I only play demo version of this. Sometimes for hours on end. It's all we need.

I am addicted to Marathon mode for Tetris. Over the last few month's I've proudly become quite good at it. I can hit 150 limit consistently.

The game that started it all.

  • definitely not worth $60 but $15 is tempting

I believe a Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is getting released very soon.

I always thought the argument that releasing a demo could make people not bother to buy the full game was a dumb one. The demo for Lego Star Wars II was so good it led to me buying my first ever full price game with birthday dosh. There's many a great demo that has led to me buying the game.

Puyo Puyo Tetris' demo is the first demo to make me go "well (profanity), I absolutely do not need the full game" … they would have been smart to include a lockout timer like a lot of Tetris demos do, so you can only play for a minute or so, which is enough to tell how smooth this version will be, etc. and then if you want it buy the game. (profanity) hooooours of split screen Tetris have been played on my Switch with this demo.

But also, if you didn't ask 60 bucks for (profanity) Tetris, I might have bought it not too long into it's life, but you are welllll too late now.

It's even better with the Japanese version since that lets you choose 3 rounds instead of 1

  • I picked this one up last sale and it’s one of the best switch games I’ve bought. The single player story mode is funny dumb and enough to keep you engaged and the puzzle elements are a great challenge especially in couch coop. Putting the balance issues between Tetris and Puyo Puyo (and some characters have definite advantages) aside, the replayability is strong with this one.
