  • How trash is this for a mirrorless (A73)? Worth buying for occasional use?

    • +5

Trash. Get a proper tripod or not at all.

      • Awesome, appreciate the honestly thought this to be the case

      • What's the cheapest proper tripod?

I don't need any fancy features. I just need it to do one thing, which is stay completely still on a surface. No wobbling.

I suppose it could help if the camera can pivot as well.

All the extra features I see people talk about here, I don't think are 100% required. As long as I can do my low light photography, I don't really care if it is titanium and coated with some slick paint.

        • There are ironically three things to look for when buying a tripod: weight, stability, price. Pick two of the three.

          • @dust: Price and stability are more important to me than price and weight.

What type of tripod fits that description?

I find myself in a weird position, because of too many options I cannot make a decision.

For $24, occasional use (if you're a prime member), its a no-brainer. These are not trash as 'dust' claims they are.

I got the 160cm versions and its quite good actually for the money, for a novice, someone just starting out or the occassional use & you don't want to be spending a great deal of dollars.

If money is no issues, then of course, go for the more expensive professional tripods.
