GIGA-3080-LAUNCH

Party like it's 1995! Kicking off RTX 3080 season with high spec systems through our partnership with Gigabyte, starting at $1998 with the Ryzen 5 3600.

Ryzen 5 3600 or Ryzen 7 3700X | Gigabyte RTX 3080 10GB Gaming PCs: $1998 and $2188 after GIGA-3080-LAUNCH

Here's how allocation works:

  • Limited quantity of Gigabyte Eagle OC cards arriving in September (scheduled for next week)
  • Limited quantity of Gigabyte Gaming OC cards arriving in September (scheduled for next week)
  • More stock is arriving in October for both. Once the "September" cards in the Graphics Card section are marked as sold out on the website, you can purchase the October variants, and your system will ship as soon as they come in.

It is strictly first come, best dressed, no holdsies.

Godspeed.

      • That is so true. I have two friends who need a new pc and the only thing holding me back from recommending techfast to them is the brand of the SSD and ram.

Luke, it would be a killer deal if the RAM and ssd was from a better brand even if it means the price is higher. I would without a doubt pay 50-100 bucks just to get good ram.

        • +2

Ram is the easiest thing to replace in the system, and one of the cheapest. Just buy one that you prefer from somewhere else and sell the one that you get included with the system when you want to upgrade. Even then, the HyperX ram that I've seen in some of the shipped systems is still pretty decent.

          • @CaspahG: I'd be more than happy to get the Hyperx ram in my system.

Idk how I'm supposed to sell the ram if I choose to replace it. Like who would wanna buy unbranded 'allied' ram or even PNY.

But still i guess i can upgrade tho. I was thinking, what if the RAM or ssd fails after the 1 year warranty expires? Do the parts get individual warranty? Normally ram sticks come with lifetime warranty but I don't think that will be the case with 'allied' ram.

From the Amazon reviews of the PNY ssd, it seems that the a LOT of people are having issues with the drive failing after just a year.

    • I got Kingston HyperX

  • +2

Also why does the MSI ventus 3x OC cost 100 dollars to upgrade to? The MSI Ventus is currently going for 1379 and the gigabyte eagle oc is 1399.

    • +4

Perhaps the "partnership with Gigabyte" means they got Eagle OC for cheaper than $1399, making the price difference $100 or close to

3080 / 3090 Gigabyte Eagle & Gaming OC Power Connector Concerns

I've had no issues with my Eagle OC.

    • No issues either with the eagle.

  • +3

Can anyone confirm if we can use the 2nd PCI-E slot? It's not obstructed by the GPU?

    • Hey @luketechfast, are you able to confirm this? I bought a PCI-E wifi card and wanted to make sure that it will fit.

      • +1

You can definitely fit a pcie wireless card, plenty of space left below the gpu, I got one fit in easily ;)

  • @luketechfast OP, is it possible to upgrade components like PC case, RAM, etc.? or is the deal as is?

    • +1

All upgrade options available for the system are listed on the site - if you were after a different specific case model etc that's not something we offer right now.

  • @luketechfast when is the earliest next available shipment expected if I place an order today please? thank you.

    • Gigabyte = November, MSI and Galax = October

  • +4

Has anyone received their October order yet?

    • +1

Don't think they would have even received their shipment of October Cards yet, so doubtful any would have gotten theirs. Hopefully Im wrong though.

      • I think this is correct. Someone last Friday said the cards were on track to come in the next two weeks. So if not Friday hopefully next week they'll get their hands on them!

        • +5

Sounds about right.. thought I'd check as we've reached Mid-October! Damn golden week delay..

          • @chuckallstarz: I had a look in a couple other threads and I couldn't find the comment I'm referencing. From what I remember someone messaged Techfast and they copy pasted the email in one of the comments that said what I said (if that was indeed a legit email/comment).

    • +1

Don't think so. Still waiting on mine!

  • +9

Just got my system yesterday - ordered a September Gigabyte Gaming OC. Unfortunately I wasn't one of the lucky ones to get an upgraded card due to the shortfall from the supplier (I guess those who had chosen more upgrade options got those cards).

Normally would build my own system, but the value on offer here, I couldn't pass up and thought I'd give it a go of getting a pre-built.

Based on the pcpartpicker prices of the other system components, basically getting the graphics card for less than $1200 - which is pretty good considering the retail prices and markups of the 3080s people are still trying to get hold of.

For reference, RAM I got was Corsair Vengeance LPX, PNY CS900 SSD.

Overall I'm pretty happy with the system - quality components at great prices.

Ran a quick TimeSpy test at stock settings, no stability issues with the card, got a graphics score of 17k, max temp of 64. Apparently top 1% of TimeSpy scores.

Running some of my games at 4K using DSR to downsample to my 1440p monitor - still getting 100fps - awesome.

Will leave things at stock for now, but will look at undervolting the Gigabyte Gaming OC card to reduce power consumption and heat, and probably get better frames during long gaming sessions because of the reduced heat.

    Would recommend to buy.

PSA - for those of you who got a Gigabyte card - go here to fill in the form to register to get a key for Watchdogs : Legion.

    https://www.aorus.com/game_bundle.php?Page=581#

I registered this afternoon and got my redemption code in about 5 hours. You'll need to register for an Aorus account.

This deal gets better and better - got Watchdogs and AC Valhalla for free too !

    • I can’t find the check number on the card, as mine is pre-assembled without the box. did you order it unassembled and find the check number on the box? Thanks

      • +2

I got mine pre-built too. I only found out about the Check Number when I tried to register the warranty online the day I got my system. Contacted support and they were able to help me out.

Bit of a silly system from Gigabyte (other manufacturers don't have it that I know of (MSI, ASUS, EVGA)).

        • Can confirm, I contacted support too and they sorted me out. Only about a week left btw guys!

        • May I ask which support you contacted? We lodged a ticket but it says turnaround time is 3 - 7 business days.

    • Thanks. I'll sign up when my PC arrives!

How did you get AC Valhalla for free?

      • AMD have a promotion on at the moment, if you buy a Ryzen 7 or 9, you can get AC Valhalla - Techfast being a system builder would have gotten some codes from AMD to send out with their systems - Luke said they're available until they run our of codes.

    • Excellent, thank you heaps for that. Got my check number through Gigabyte Support after a few emails, they asked for the direct invoice from TF which I needed to get via email which was sent really quickly. Process was easy as and waiting for the code now.

      • Hey mate, my PC from TF is on its way to me but I want to get the ball rolling on this before the promo ends. Do you mind telling me what the Gigabyte support email was?

        • Hey, so you just need to go to the Gigabyte Support website and create an account, from there you can directly raise a ticket with Gigabyte to get the check number. You'll need to have the original Techfast invoice for the PC to get the check number from my experience, and this involves contacting Techfast Support ([email protected]) to get them to provide an invoice.

From there, Gigabyte will ask for a few details in their ticket reponse, including a photo of the GPU serial number. That's the issue you may run into prior to claiming, but if it comes early next week you should be within the time to claim. But it's worth raising the ticket now as you will be able to respond to the information they ask for and there's a window of 7 days to respond.

          Hope this helps :)

          • @doweyy: Thank you so much for the response. I only got delivery details on Friday afternoon so I doubt it's coming before Thursday (the promo cut off). I'm not sure whether they'll even allow it if I can't take a photo of it haha. Worth a shot though I suppose.

    • this gigabyte deal available for the Gigabyte Eagle cards?

      • Any AORUS/Gigabyte card 3080/3090 card yeah.

  • +6

I'm very pumped for this. You must be tired of people asking when the October graphics cards are in and I know you can't provide exact ETAs, but will we be emailed when they come in? That'll save me from chronically refreshing this page xD

    • You and me both! Hahahah

    • The October allocation allowed me to score a sub $500 Xiaomi 34" and all my peripherals.. but now they're just looking at me every day!

      • Haha me too. However I went a bit early on the monitor paid $550

        • haha did the exact same thing, still waiting for the monitor to arrive though

      • I'm the same!

    • +4

Hi mate. We're not necessarily planning on emailing when the cards come in as the turnaround from that point to dispatch will be pretty short and you'll get dispatch notification when the system ships, but I will definitely mention it in a deal if I post and they've arrived.

      • +1

        All good. I understand.

I guess I'll just refresh your profile until it happens haha

    • hey man can you measure the side glass panel's height for me when you have the time?

  • Is anyone adding additional case fans? I'm getting the stock 3700x wraith prism fan with msi case. I notice in the pics the b550 motherboard's 3 fan connectors are taken up by the rear and two front fans. I was hoping to buy a PWM Y Fan Splitter Cable and hook one up to the rear fan to add an additional fan for the top.

Just jumped on this deal, upgraded the standard parts to Gaming OC RTX 3080, Ryzen 7 3700, X570 Wi-Fi Motherboard and 1TB m.2 SSD

Totalled to $2443 with the coupon code, excluding shipping

My current PC was built in 2017 with a Ryzen 5 1400 and GTX 1050Ti, I'm VERY excited for this upgrade :)

    • Something doesn't add up..I just priced same system and it was over $2600 excluding shipping .

      • We’re you buying the parts in bulk or at retail price.

I’d say techfast rely on volume of sales and low markup to make money.

        • No, he's talking about how Scribbles price doesn't add up - if he upgraded to those parts on the Techfast order, the price is over $2600, not what he has it at $2443

          • @gooseberry: Ah yeh my bad.

I’m guessing something was misclicked or didn’t apply I’d be checking the invoice.

            • @creesy: I was thinking the exact same thing, I got a similar system and ended up being around $2700

              • +1

@ryan1815: I'm like re-checking my order if I misclicked, the invoice/ order summary has the correct list of parts, and I sent an email to make sure there were no errors.

I'll post an update if anything happens, but yeah, $2443 without shipping, is what i got at checkout.

                • @Scribbles: Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Processor
Case: MSI MAG Forge 100R ATX Case

I just put this into cart and got $2,643.00 excl. shipping.

I would double check that your invoice matches this.

                  • @fundidadoowa: Yeah i posted a reply to mine saying there was an error at checkout where it didn't receive the CPU upgrade order

I'm like now thinking if i even need the upgrade

    • +1

Update: Looks like there was a shopping cart error, so it actually totalled to $2643 (without coupon) because CPU upgrade didn't go through.

I honestly don't know if I should just go with the Ryzen 5 3600, or go through with the upgrade, from a gaming standpoint they aren't that much diffferent are they?

      • +2

I can somewhat help to answer this question because I had to research it myself. For reference, I ended up going with a 3600.

When you game at a lower resolution, your GPU works less hard and this allows the CPU to reach its full potential. So at 1080p, the 3600 is likely to bottleneck your 3080. Conversely, at 4k, your GPU is working extra hard, and is reaching its full potential. At 4k, the 3080 will bottleneck any CPU no matter what it is. At 4k, it doesn't really matter which CPU you pick.

At 1440p, a lot of benchmarks showed a 10fps difference at most between the 3600 and the 3700. I'm talking going from 100fps to 92fps type thing. So at 1440p, there is a bottleneck by the 3600, but not a large one. It's up to you if that performance boost is worth it.

Overall from a cost-performance ratio, I think the 3600 is better value. I'm going to be gaming on a 1440p ultra wide. The 3700 may have more longevity though as it is 8 cores, and the 3600 is only 6 cores.

In general I'm assuming ultra settings here.

        • Thanks for the info! And yeah the plan is to be able to run games at 1440p on Ultra

I didn't really do much research on the CPUs till now, I mean I'd be fine with either of them, but I can see myself upgrading in the future with Zen3, so the error ended up being a good thing since it saved me a bit of money for any future upgrades.

Saw a lot of the comparison videos between the two CPUs and for me personally, I don't think it's worth 200 for an extra ~12 frames for gaming. Maybe 3700 could've been useful for any Photoshop/Editting I also do, but the 3600 should be good for the next few years

October delivery looking less likely by the day 😔

    • RIP

    • +1

If they come this week October delivery might still happen. Gives 'em a week to come after that.

      • +2

Here’s hoping lol I’d be more patient if my other system didn’t die a week before I ordered this lol

    • sad. looks like october batch turns into november batch

      • +1

The month was for when the cards were to arrive at Techfast. Not delivery.

        • Yeah as long as the cards arrive at their store on or before the 31st of October, they can say they upheld their end of the bargain even if it doesn't ship til November.

          • +2

@fundidadoowa: I’m not planning to complain or argue even if the system doesn’t arrive until mid November.

The sooner the better either way.

There is still basically 0 stock of the 3080 anywhere in aus atm

        • mhm. I just really want this pc before CP2077 releases :/

  • +1

Anyone else watching the mega threads for hdmi 2.1 4k @120 fps issues with rtx 3080 / 90 using Sony x900h or Samsung q80t / q90t eagerly anticipating a solution before their new pc arrives?

  • +2

Like probably many others here got my Xiaomi 34 UW monitor recently now just awaiting the PC to go along with it. Think it would be safe to assume we would get them before CP2077 releases assuming the cards arrive this week or next. What is worrying is the general lack of cards Australia wide.

  • Just a reminder for the October orders, make sure you redeem the Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla as soon as possible, the code expires on 7th November, 2020. (The code I received for September order expires in November, not sure about Oct )

    • may be difficult if the system doesn't come before then.

but thanks for the heads up

  • -1

I was just wondering if the October batch turns into November…. Then the November batch into December?
But that doesn't make sense, cause I'm sure even right now they are getting the PC's ready so when the cards come they just "slip" it in.
Correct me if I'm wrong here :))

  • +5

i just emailed them regarding Ventus orders,

They said should be arriving this week or next, and orders will be shipped shortly after cards arrive.

    • Thank you. fingers crossed

    • +1

Adding on to this. They said cards should arrive this week or next.
      Fingers crossed.

    Email received just now

    “Good afternoon,

    Thank you for your email.

I can confirm for you that we have your 3080 card and your system is likely to be dispatched either today or tomorrow. You will receive tracking information and confirmation once your system has been dispatched from our warehouse.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

    Kind Regards,

    Sales/Support Agent”

Card in question was a gigabyte gaming OC

So good news is on the way!!

    • Awesome news! was this an October card?

      • It was

        • perfect, hoping they got the eagles in at the same time then

          • @ryan1815: You’d think it would be safe to assume they would

    • Lucky…

Guessing they're still waiting on the MSI ventus cards tho D:

      • I only got the email because I emailed them first.

So it is still possible they received other cards today as well.

Still no shopping confirmation as yet though

        • I had a shopping confirmation when I bought the item :p

    • Get in!!! Great news 😀

  • Is the gigabyte gaming oc worth the $100 upgrade compared to the price for the eagle oc?

    • +1

Apparently has slight better cooler, slightly higher base clock, 360 watt max vs 340, dual bios. Umm one extra display port.

I upgraded purely because I think the gaming OC is slightly better aesthetically

      • Thanks for the comparison! Might snag the system with the gaming oc then ;)

  • question guys, does anyone have the Allied SSD 256GB? just wondering if the write speed for this drive is about 50MB/s? seems 10x slower than other SSD drives i have. the read speed however is fine.

before i lodge a support ticket with Techfast, was wondering if this SSD is normal.

I looked at Allied website and it advertised this same SSD to be about 500MB/s write, 10x faster than what i am currently getting.

My October system has shipped anyone else?

    • Hi what GPU did you get with the bundle ?

      • Gaming OC

Also an Eagle and nothing yet.
