Ebgames and jb have both charged one
Ozbargainer in me feels like that's a bit greedy from these retailers
I didnt get a delivery fee.. Im in NSW
I didn’t get charged a delivery fee either. I’m from VIC.
Disk edition unavailable.
Limit 2 per customer.
RRP isnt a deal, etc, etc.
Is there a poll here about their thoughts on disc vs digital?
Previous comments indicate disc is better purely because you can resell the games and recoup money back, digital you can't
Also it allows you to shop around and price match. You can't on the PSN.
It’s almost always cheaper to buy disc version over digital too
With the increasing size of games, and the worry about being able to play games in the future (I still play my OG Xbox and PS2), I'd definitely be going with disc over digital.
Good point - Maybe you will also need a facebook login to play games in the future too! ouch! (cough cough Oculus Quest 2)
@Headless: If its owned by Facebook than they would force you to use their account. Staying away from Facebook is the best option.
Actually, you have to install the game onto the drive even for disc version. It’s been the same itv PS4 and Xbox One
@FireRunner: Could they come up with fancy versions of Google Stadia and Microsoft xCloud?
https://www.theverge.com/2019/6/19/18683382/what-is-cloud-ga…
@FireRunner: Yep although is your internet download speed faster than the bluray read speed?
avoid the digital version …. you will spend so much more on the digital version of the games….
Avoid it? But what if you're in a mad scramble to get a unit before they sell out, and the digital version - with no disk player - is the only one left?
What will you do then?
Unless your buying an E-book reader its not worth buying digital
Physical Books are worth $0 used - Physical game disks still have value!
If you keep your PS5 for many years, I wonder how much money you'll recoup by selling your disk collection?
"RRP isnt a deal, etc, etc." At least put the price in title. You can't post PSA in the deals section
Idk if the scarcity of these things around xmas will be accurate.
Maybe someone out there wants to buy one for their kids and the option to pre-order at retail price might be a bargain to them rather than forking out $1k to a scalper.
There would be no warranty if you buy from a scalper.

RRP isnt a deal, etc, etc.
I can't pre order.
SODL out again
Why were Big W allocating 2 per customer in the current climate of scarcity where the amount of attempts to scalp are already off the charts? Lame.
I sent an email complaining about it.
limited edition one looks good: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ps5-WHITE-DOUBLE-DISC-EDITION-EX…
such a cheap price. Keen to see how this bad boy cooks.
Edit: Nevermind. Sold out.
Got my $20 cashback from ZIP.
they were there and gone again..Big W is playing with my heart
Saw that too. By advertising it youre gonna increase the amount of people refreshing and decrease your chances so shhh…
Missed that
Available again.
Oops, that was quick. I wonder if I was dreaming, but I do have a confirmation email of the pre-order.
how much was the pre-order. They've opened it up so you can pay off the balance of the unit (total price less deposit) and make you click pre-order to do it for some reason, but it's for people who already pre-ordered a device and not for new pre-orders.
I made a bit of a mistake and put it on afterpay, so the total said $699 + $7.90 for the delivery. I dont know when they will take the $50. But because I put it on after pay I will have it paid off before launch. First payment of $176.73 was today. Yah probably wasn't smart putting it on afterpay, but I gotta pay for it regardless.
Nah man, I think you ordered the wrong thing.
You ordered this: https://www.bigw.com.au/product/disc-version-console-final-p… which is only for people who previously pre-ordered.
You should have ordered this: https://www.bigw.com.au/product/playstation-5-console/p/1246… which is unavailable atm.
@godlike1001: Lol, why did it let me do that?
@godlike1001: thanks for letting me know.
I almost did the same mistake. Pretty much many people will do that haha
@Dienk: Yah I want to call it stupid… If I wasn't the one who was stupid. Anyways BigW were good and refunded me within an hour.
@Navii: I have sent an email to bigv w complaining about their 2 limits console per client. That is insane! Sony said it was only one. Let's wait for their answer.
@Dienk: Mate you can order 1 for each console. A digital and a disc version has two different product code. Thus different product.
@HandsomeMonkey: That is not what the website says (or at least it wasn't clear). On disk model for example it said: 2 per costumers. Anyway, still waiting their reply
@HandsomeMonkey: Where are you getting this info from?
The page says "Limit of 2 per Customer." but doesnt indicate anything about that being 1x disc and 1x digital.
@godlike1001: Mate I'm just replying to the dude complaining about people getting two consoles and he can't get one.
He said BigW allowed 2 per customer. But Sony only allow one per person. So BigW is probably only allowed one with disc and one without. So two different product!!
@HandsomeMonkey: oh, so you made it up.
Sony and Big W are separate retailers, Sony cant dictate rules for Big W to follow lol.
@godlike1001: Wtf are you on about? Made what up?
@HandsomeMonkey: Are you serious?
You said with authority: "Mate you can order 1 for each console. A digital and a disc version has two different product code. Thus different product."
That rule isnt written anywhere and rather is contradicted by the rule that is actually posted on the product page, being that each product has a limit of 2 per person. So theoretically you could get 4 consoles per person (2x disc and 2x digital).
When I asked the basis for the rule, you provided your reasoning which was based on comparing it to Sony's store policy for some reasons.
Effectively you've made up the Big W policy and presented it as fact lol.
@godlike1001: "Mate you can order 1 for each console. A digital and a disc version has two different product code. Thus different product."
I said you can order two different consoles with two different SKU. I didn't say anything about BigW policy.
@HandsomeMonkey: You were responding to a comment about another user complaining to big w about their 2 unit limit policy.
And no, you said you can order 1 for each console.
But whatever mate, not gonna argue with you any further. Just a weird thing for you to initially assert and even weirder that you're trying so hard to deny having said it.
@godlike1001: LoL, yes I did response to another person complaining about not getting on release day and the 2 console limit.
I also said you can order one digital and one disc ..
No one is arguing with you. I am only stating what I wrote earlier.
I guess no more orders till next year?
I missed out on the preorder so if anyone's looking to cancel theirs, would appreciate a shout
Hi has anyone paid in full yet? And does ur order say u have two ps5s for some reason but u only paid for one?
Big W seem to be charging a delivery fee on top? Does anyone know if they will end up shipping for free on this one? Delivery fee on a $750 product seems a bit ridiculous.
Also what's the policy on the reservation fee? Is it "free" to cancel and get a refund if you change your mind prior to release?
