I found this video helpful https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HQXThwxD2JY. It compares Echo Show 2 with Google Nest Hub. If you need Zigbee hub then Amazon is the way to go otherwise I think Google might be a better option, though this is very subjective. However Google is known to collect lot of data and Google is getting a lot of limelight these days on how they are using your data without your knowledge. Having said that I have had Google Home ever since it was launched and not much to complain about it from usability perspective.

100% Amazon, I replaced all my google shiz and have not looked back.

For me, the decider was Echo Auto.
Prior to that, I had spurned any home automation, but the Auto worked so well in a noisy car, it made me re-evaluate.
The main reasons I went with Alexa was the auto integration and the fact Google loves to kill off its own successful products at random.

That said, bought the Google Hub for the girlfriend and she loves it, and how it works seamlessly with Google Photos

  • I think the main difference for me is that Amazon integrates a hub in their devices. This Studio has a built in zigbee hub. Google hubs have no hub functionality as they have cheaped out from including zigbee or zwave. To me personally, why release a product and call it a hub if its cant be a hub…

    • FYI, I think they only integrate the zigbee hub in a couple of their echo devices, not all of them.

      • yes of course. You're not gonna find one in the $10 echo dots that everyone bought but this deal here includes the hub.

Full credit to OZNathan is paid in the OP.
This is to highlight the Echo Studio deal. It's the cheapest so far.

    • It’s like saying every ebay deal related to a coupon is dupe of main coupon post.

      • -3

Mate it’s in the body of the original post. That’s a dupe.

        • +1

Ah ok, it's still allowed by mods as long as it's not in the title.

        • Wrong

  • Can someone enlight me why we need this Studio?

    • +8

We ask that after we buy

    • You save $164.5.

    • Full sound, much greater fidelity and volume also great bass. No comparison to say an Echo Dot.
Like a comparing a portable radio to a home stereo.

  • Anyone know if Show 10's screen time-outs while using the Browser? Thinking of using this in the kitchen. Thanks!

    • its marketed to be used for that .. i'm sure there would be some setting to disable screen on\off - especially as it uses mains

  • ships in 6 -8 weeks?

  • would studio play kayo sports in a browser or in the app on a show?

  • Damn it if only I passed on the Echo Plus $99 deal last time

    • Basically it is Echo plus replacement?

      • It's twice as good of a speaker, 5.25" woofer vs 3" woofer and additional 2" mid range speaker. Echo Plus is a little short on bass.

        • Better buy the sub instead ? Still don't get as we can't have HD and Dolby Atmos features in Aussie.

  • Folks,

I can't seem to apply the code? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated….

  • So just realised I trialled Amazon Music a few years ago. So would I need to open a new Amazon account to get this deal?

I have an Amazon Echo plus in my man cave and wasn't too worried about the sound quality as it's connected to my stereo but I'm finding I am using it not connected to the stereo and would really like the quality of the studio

    • Yes, its easy to just open another Amazon account with a fresh email, fire up the Amazon Music trial and order.
You can cancel immediately and just use the 30 days if you want.

      • Thanks. I'll do that

      • +1

        Ordered. Thanks!

  • could you use the studio as a soundbar and pump the TV through it ?
