vs $50 for 85gb over 6 months using the Belong Mobile + Referral deal ($1.70/gb). Amaysim works out to $1.67/gb
Wouldn't the belong deal be $40 + 5 x $10 - $20 = $70? That wouldn't include international calls except for the first month anyway.
I presumed someone taking advantage of a half-price $40 sim deal in the first place + $20 referral credit. $20 + $30 out of pocket.
@yojabbajabba: Isn't that just 4 months rather than 6 months? Also, it will not include international calls.
@wildstone: 6 months
Month 1 - Use $40 credit to secure 40+40gb - $20 out of pocket for sim
Month 2 and 3 - $10 for 1gb (using $10 each month from $20 referral credit claimed in Month 1) - not out of pocket.
Months 4-6 - $10 for 1gb - $30 out of pocket. And yes 100% not a comparison if someone requires international calling minutes. Not an issue for many who video calls (Facetime/Messenger/Whatsapp etc) and use mobile/broadband data instead of a call.
Your math is wrong. It's $0.60/GB for amaysim
Yep, you're right! Im a numpty and did the division of gb/$ instead of $/gb
Amaysim: $75/125gb = 60c/gb
Belong: $50/85gb = 58.9c/gb.Thanks :)
@yojabbajabba: How is the Belong network (compared to say Aldi, Woolies, Boost)?
@tunzafun001: I’ll let you know in two weeks when I port out of Telstra using the $80 credit sim I got with my Belong broadband contract a while back.
Things I’ve read already
+ Telstra network
- No voicemail (but voice to text mail)
+ indefinite rollover data.- no wifi calling/VoLTE
Do you have port out to Telstra/ vodaphone from. Optus prepaid?
When does it have to be used by?

Missed it by that much, wish i hadnt ordered the Circle of Life heh
Good deal if you use up to 20GB per month. However I've found that I only ever use up to 5GB max per month. Personally, I've found better savings with Catch
https://m.catch.com.au/product/catch-connect-365-day-mobile-…
Brings my monthly cost down to $7.42 p/m compared to the $12.5 p/m I'd be paying with Amaysim. I'd only be wasting the extra unused data.
I ordered the Catch 120 GB 365 Day deal for my folks with the catch gift cards that were 15% off. Came to $8.66 Per Month.
It's a shame I missed out on the gift card deal…
Just hope the Circle of Life 120Gb $18/month will be worth it
Will report experience with you bargain hunters hehe
I'm on the $30 pm for overseas calls but with 100GB of data from the newspaper offer a few months ago. Not keen to go searching for another plan in 6 months.
How would this work if you're an exisiting amaysim customer (since you have to buy a new sim)? Can you still keep your existing number?
Cashback is eligible only on a new service (SIM) - keyword being NEW. So new number too.
"Cashback is eligible for new & existing amaysim customers purchasing a new SIM"
New SIM could also mean new porting customer, right? Is there a way to get clarification for this deal?
Love your Beastie Avatar!
"New SIM could also mean new porting customer, right?"
Yes, indeed! So as long as you were bringing your number across from another telco, they'll do you this deal. The only limitation is that you can't move an existing amaysim number onto this plan. Everything else goes (happy to be corrected - this is my interpretation of the TCs)
I hope such deals come around Oct end as my Boost 12 months plan is expiring Nov end. Need one with international calls.
Thanks OP. Wish me luck trying to port out of Circles
Mine went ok, secret to porting is make sure all details are the same and only port during the week.
I've ended up buying a 120Gb/365 days Catch Connect SIM card for $99 (normally $120):
10% off using UniDays coupon
8% off using Suncorp Catch gift cardIt's using full Optus network without any restrictions.
Any Optus MVNO can provide VoLTE?

Effectively $75 for 6 months, 125GB, Including international Calls!
Best deal for the moment now.
