Decent deal I guess if you can't wait for next gen GPUs. $249+ elsewhere.

Got one from CA last week for similar price and I am using it to replace my old HD7870.
Yep!! Sold my 2080S on gumtree and got this. Seems decent for the price and I can always sell it to get my money back once the latest and greatest is out.
Any point in Crossfire these days ??
From my research, no.
Nope
There's many videos on YouTube that prove it is not a good idea. Most games simply don't support Crossfire or SLI. The FPS is rarely better and sometimes worse with two cards.
A decent card. I play VR games with my Vive with it. Waiting patiently for next gen cards to see what I will replace it with though. Thought about 5700XT but after doing research it sounded like I might have had driver issues so decided on 2070S but then they were mostly about $1000. Now they’ve dropped $$ but next gen is almost here…. whats a person to do..
haha can relate, definitely my position
flip a coin
I believe 2070 Super etc will come down in price more after the new 3000 series are available. Retailers are selling them cheaper now to get ahead of the impending release. I wonder if retailers are compensated by suppliers/manufacturers when they drastically reduce the MSRP of products when they pay for stock in advance.
Also…
WinterBlack Friday is coming.
Has this card got thermal pads on the memory? It doesnt look like it on videos.
This or the Galax 1650 Super for $199 + shipping at Shopping Express?
https://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/galax-geforce-gtx-165…
That's a nice find, probably worth a post too.
Raw performance wise both cards are pretty much on par. RX580 has twice as much VRAM which should help moving forward but 1650S is more efficient and pulls less power.Yeah the 1650 is also a lot shorter, which is a bonus since I'm using a fairly small case.
Wait what? They both perform the same but RX580 has 8GB and the 1650 super has 4GB?
Does that mean the 580 can have higher textures because of the larger VRAM?
Yes. There's lots weird benchmarks between the RX580 and GTX 1650 Super where one or the other is ahead because of this reason. The 1650 Super is slightly faster but some games benefit from more VRAM.
Thank you! I've been waiting for one of these to hit the $200 mark (about $210 inc postage)… I'd rather have half the power usage (and I only game at 1080p).
Yeah I got the GTX 1650 super for $210 shipped
I got a Rx 570 4gb used on AliExpress for $115 after shop back, should I buy the GTX 1650 super for $210 shipped still? The problem is that shipping for AliExpress is gonna take a while for me.
@kypermaster: And sell the Rx 570 when it arrives?
@kypermaster: Tough question! Funnily enough, I had an RX 570 4gb in my computer, I just donated it into my kid's new computer build so I've been using integrated graphics of my Intel CPU for the past month! The 570 is still great at 1080p gaming, but the 1650S will be faster and still use less power I'd say… Could maybe onsell the 570 when you get it, I doubt you'll lose money… 115 is cheap!
@MrGareth: Yeah I might keep the GTx 1650 super and sell my Rx 570 for around $180 when it arrives! And save some money for the NVIDIA card!
Great price. Don't expect next gen GPUs to have any effect on these prices for a while. Entry-level cards are always released well after the high end stuff.
This or a used 1070Ti @ $330? 144hz 1440p screen. Waiting for the 3070…
Used 1070ti
thank you kind sir.
I purchased one recently as a backup video card, since I was awaiting the RTX 3000 series and had already sold my RTX 2000 series video cards. It's still fantastic for 1080P gaming. I found it ironic, however, that ASUS packaged this in moulded foam, yet the RX 5700 XT that I purchased from them (for almost triple the cost) was packaged in flimsy folded cardboard which wasn't secure at all.
Wow…. two years on my card is worth something haha…
Absolute noob here, would this be good for rendering in SktetchUp? current card can't really keep up
Miners here we go!
Haha reminded me of the old days. Would've loved to have paid this at the time!
Grabbed one last week, it was the exact same price
Would any RX580 work with a hackintosh? I've only seen the MSI and Sapphire ones recommended
I don't know anything about Hackintosh specifically but I'd have thought it would be OK given the GPU is the same?
Maybe useful to someone as a temporary GPU for the "GPU-less" 30xx-ready PCs posted by Techfast.?
