Is this the one with the constant spinning wheel?

    • Yeah it is mate haha

    • +1

Yeah, you can unlock the scroll wheel.

    • +2

it does on wired, i bet its the same on wireless. It’s controlled through a toggle button.

  • +1

    Thanks man just copped

  • +2

Tried this one today at local JB. Liked it, but way over my budget. ……maybe wait for 2 years. Sad.

    • +4

Wired version goes on sale for around $75 sometimes.

    • Same here! The Lightspeed stuff from Logitech doesn't go on sale much :(

      • I ended up ordered the wired version for sub 70. Although I like wireless, but the extra $100 is not worthy for me.

  • +1

    Don't forget cashrewards.

Thanks! been waiting a while for this one.

  • FF

how good is this compared to wired version?

    • +2

Everything's basically the same - except it's wireless and PowerPlay compatible

      • Lighter in weight by a few grams as well!

        • +1

I have the wired version and love it but after trying a few other mice I really wish it was considerably lighter now..

          • @DeToxin: There are weight reduction mods you can do to it

    • I find the clicks to be mushier compared to the wired, but other than that, it's pretty much identical (barring the wire of course).

The novel “The Longest Memory” written by Fred D’Aguiar is a novel that expresses the horrors and pain that slaves have endured during the 18 century. The novel focuses on one sole slave whose identified by the plantation name rather than a given name who accepts everything thrown at him. He goes by the name of Chapel and is the oldest yet most pained slave on the plantation whose individuality has been taken off. In the same way, Wesley Enoch and Deborah Mailman’s 7 stages of grieving explores that there is more ways of losing ones identity. Whilst The Longest Memory focuses of the shifts in society towards African Americans, 7 stages presents us the loss of generations of livelihoods through invasion. Although both texts are directed toward the negative side of society and identity being a myth both texts ultimately have the hope for equality in the mere future.

      well said mate

  • +5

Is this model susceptible to the faulty click actuator problem.

    • Was thinking the same thing!

    • "definitely not just the 502. It's the 903, 305, 703, GPW"

The models listed above use the cheaper, more defective switches - so, yes.

    • @bingsta:

Yes, it is. Google "G502 lightspeed double click issue". Plenty of threads on it

    • +2

I think all Logitech mice are susceptible to that issue.

      I had a M705 that developed that problem…

      • Same, M720 lasted less than 2 years.

    • It is. I'm on my 4th of this mouse, waiting for Logitech to send me a 5th. I don't know how Kogan's warranty support is but you should be ready to send it back a couple of times.

      • But to be completely fair, I'd still stick with the G502 regardless. Absolutely love it.

        • +5

Yeah for sure, it's the best mouse I've ever owned and I'm happy to play the switch lottery until I get one that lasts longer than a month.

          • @roseyhead: If you're good with soldering, can swicth out the stock switches for Kailh ones. Plenty of guides on youtube and reddit.

            • +1

@Teebytok: I have a pair of Kailh switches ready to go but I don't trust my soldering skills so I'm waiting til my new mouse arrives so I have a backup if I bust this one up :)

    • I am on my 4th.. and I bought it 25 months ago.. I use my old school wired G502 (before HERO sensor) when I send it away for RMA. Seems like Logitech has lost its durability ever since HERO stuff.

  • Any deal on a budget hyper scroll mouse?

    • I don't think they make a budget hyper scroll mouse any more. The cheapest one is now the M720 Triathlon which is $99 AUD RRP

      • You can get this for ~68 on Amazon at the moment or ~75 ish seems to be regular price

    • +2

      @WinBargain:
For gaming + wireless, I think the G602.
For gaming + wired, I think the G502 wired.
For non-gaming, try the MX Anywhere 2s (currently $88 on Amazon, has been slightly cheaper when on sale).

Was $99 at binglee a month ago.. no deal

  • +1

    Love this mouse..!

  • Anyone experience interference while using wireless keyboard together with a wireless mouse? I started seeing mouse cursor stuttering recently after upgrading my motherboard (one with wifi 6 and BT 5). The stuttering is more frequent when the two receivers are close together and less frequent when they are further apart. As such, I'm thinking of switching back to a wired mouse.

    • Buy a cheap usb extension cable and snake the mouse receiver up onto your desk behind your screen. Mine works great like this.

  • +2

Best mouse I've owned. My first one (wired) from 5 years ago eventually had a worn out scroll wheel, but it's such a good mouse I bought another one to replace it.

  • bought one the other day at JB for 199 price matching mwave couldnt wait as i've been using the wired verion forever was nice to have a wireless upgrade. great mouse overall

    • Just called local JB and they said they do not price match online stores. Sucks really.

      • mwave has a storefront in sydney unless your not from sydney which makes sense.

        • Yeah but it is an extra $20 compared to the deal from Kogan.

          • @parallelparadox: i ended up re selling my old mouse for $40 logitech g403 so for me worked out all in the end one in one out :D

    • +1

It's been down to the $120ish mark several times recently - so I'd suggest just waiting.

      • +1

        "A continuous 32 hours on a single charge "

        Its the older model.
The latest G903 Hero has up to 180 hours with no lighting.

2 months later I still didn’t get refund from Kogan, last time I bought an expensive mouse from them they sent me a cheap camera.

    10/10 would avoid them

  • Anyone used Toby's deals?

    https://www.tobydealsau.com/en_AU/product/logitech-g502-ligh…

Seems cheaper with free delivery, but I haven't used them before.

edit: nvm. Reviews on trustpilot don't inspire confidence.

    • Plenty of people use it, tons of deals from there get posted on here (mainly phones)

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/tobydealsau.com

    • The guys over at Whirlpool seem to have a varied experience. A lot of happy customers it seems though.

      • Hong Kong based
      • Apparently legit products
      • Cheap (but not unrealistically cheap)
      • Free to priced shipping
      • Seem to be the folks over, what used to be, eGlobal/DWI.
      • Customer service is god awful/non-existent, so good luck with trying to claim something
      • Perceived stock levels may not reflect real-world status
      • They'll run you around if you decided to return something, even charge you an admin/return fee.

Never bought from them but good luck if anyone does.

  • +4

If you own this you have one less excuse for being terrible at gaming. It’s down to ‘my Internet was glitching’, ‘they’re using an aimbot’ and ‘i need to upgrade my computer’.

    Good mouse, 9/10.

  • Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed Wireless is currently 68 at amazon us via amazon au
any know issue on this ? the design is like a copy of g502

    • I found the Razer Basilisk line slightly confusing as there are many variants.

But I think the Razer Basilisk Ultimate is the intended competition to this mouse.
The Razer Basilisk x Hyperspeed is their entry model.

      • that's true, but i think top gaming mouse is not for everyone. i do not game on pc at all, i do not care about dpi and other specs for gaming. i just need a mice looks cool, feels comfortable, do not have common known issues.

        • If you can stand with Razer bloatware software, then it seems like the Basilisk Hyperspeed would be most suited for you.

          • +1

@jjsu: I heard of that. my mice are mostly from Logitech,. Although none of them are gaming mice. I use them between PC and Mac. Logitech's software is very reliable and convenient.

Is this same but cheaper ?

  • if you dont mind the wired version, is it worth to get considering its more than 50% cheaper?

    • Wired version works just fine, the cord is long enough so that you don't feel like it's tugging back when you drag.

  • +1

Harvey Norman also price matches if you want to buy local :)

    • Can you let me know how you got HN to price match? After an hour wait to speak to someone, the online rep just told me the following:

"Hi there, sorry we are not able to match that one as the product is listed at significantly under the RRP and falls into our price match exclusion"

      Thanks!

loved this mouse. had the wired version and the wire got destroyed by the cats.
im too cheap to buy another one.

  • I have one of these, it's a really nice mouse and that price is amazing.

I frequently find myself switch between the free scroll and locked scroll mode.

I had a terrible battery life issue. The lights would not turn off after PC shut down and thus I got about 4 days out of a charge. Not so bad if you have the wireless charging mouse pad (mouse doesn't support Qi). I'd anyone else has this issue, try get a refund or disable the light through G-Hub.
Even when I disabled the option to turn the lights off upon shut down, they stayed on - should have followed through with a refund but meh. I don't care about the lights.

Now I get weeks of battery, it's great.

8/10, strongly recommend snatching this deal

  • I have this mouse, it's a great mouse and I highly recommend it.
Battery last more than 2 weeks for me, working and playing more than 8 hours every day (software engineer).
I couldn't live without the magic scroll, so useful for all non gaming tasks (website, coding…).
For me the only negative point is the sniper button is a bit of a gimmick and too far from reach or maybe I have small hands.

No it isn't. In which way is it better?

You're paying $130 for the G604 only for it to be AA battery powered lol. Not to mention the G502 is POWERPLAY compatible.

      • I had been using same tech as POWERPLAY on my Wacom Intuos for years. G604 is good if you have both computers and tablets.

    • +1

I've used both. The 604 is heavier and has more buttons. I prefer the shape of the 502, but it is still on the heavier side.
As far as wireless mice go, I'd prefer to pay less for the 604, and have 90% of the overall capability of the 502. Maybe when the 502 wireless dips to 130 I'll grab it, but at this point, I think it's still too expensive.

  • The only thing I don't like about wireless mouse it is the battery in the end it will be just like any wired mouse.

    • Battery last several weeks and you don't get bothered by the cable.
Personally I could not have a wired mouse anymore.

Otherwise just buy a MX Master 3, battery life is like 70 days.

    • +1

The battery lasts for a few years. I have the wired one and it is a great mouse.

    • If battery bothers you get ones with AA lol, instant switching

  • +3
