  • So you have one that doesn't require cords?

    • +1

Google reolink argus. It's their battery version

    • We have Argus 3 wire-free with spotlight. https://reolink.com/us/product/argus-3/

      • without solar panel, how long the battery lasts per charge. Does it easy to remove battery and charge.

        • +1

It lasts as long as it can

        • +1

Totally depends on how many times its activated a day. Before solar we would get about 2 months from the front door, 2-3 weeks from the backdoor and about a month on the driveway. With solar they just run and run.

  • This one works with the Cloud but does it with FTP? It all seems very random what works with what, ie my E1 Pro no FTP but the E1 Zoom does work with FTP….

One thing I have found, and didn't know until yesterday, is they just about all seem to work with Reolink Client on a PC, even the little battery ones.

    • Lumus doesn't support FTP. All works with Reolink Client on PC and Reolink App on smartphones.

  • 5V DC for power … does it come with a 240v adapter? Is it USB connection?

    • Yes, comes with a 240v adapter usb connection

      • How long is the cable?

        • About 2.9m

  • Any deals on RLK8-800B4?

Next week I will post the deal, please mark it

      • Awesome, thanks.

      • Looking forward to that!

I have this anc i highly recommend them.
I am running 6 cameras and can only get 7 days recording with the 2 TB so have to expand that to 4.

I installed mine in a day and being POE the install is very simple.
Night vision is great however the IR lights attract bugs and that gets a spider web ,, spary some peppermint oil on a cloth and rub ir around the cam to keep spides away

If for some reason you can only run on cable(double storey house or some other reason) you can still have 3 cameras connected and working fine with just 1 connection.
You will need a small 4 port POE switch for that..

feel free to ask any questions if u want .. thats like for anyone,, and will help if i can,,

      • Hey mate, that peo switch idea would be perfect for me, know very little about this and had no idea, thanks. Any chance of posting a sample of night time footage when there is very low light ? Thanks in advance

        • i sorry for the delayed reply, i will downlaod and send ya a link to the footage,,
so r u planning to run cables outside? if so, buy some UV protected and weatherproof cat6\7cables,,,i got mine from amazon…

          • @Max0309: No wiring will be exposed to sunlight, only one camera requires conduit and the others will be replacing old cameras that I painstakingly wired through the brick veneer walls. Since posting this I have read some horrific reviews about Reolink so I am having second thoughts. Look forward to seeing the sample footage. Thanks.

            • @[Deactivated]: What did you read

              • @DoesntEvenMatter: Found various threads in these forums https://ipcamtalk.com/forums/ warning against Reolink and claiming most of their good reviews are fake. Also checking https://au.trustpilot.com/review/reolink.com?languages=en&st… to see the complaints has almost put me off.

@[Deactivated]: I replaced a 4k Hik vision to reolink 4k system because I preferred them tbh, set up the hik on my other place.Their fov was what I required so it worked out well and mostly with around their app but the pq was very good. I'll be upgrading a few cams to the 800a for vehicle/people detection.

I haven't had any issues to deal with warranty issues but during my enquiries I had quick replies when once the system was already delivered.

          • @Max0309: That's againt regs. It need to be run in conduit and unless you payed hundreds that UV stable cat you got is probably fake or cca

  • What's the cheapest outdoor cam that works with solar ?

Hi All, Please note this is a 2.4 Ghz only and if you are running a mesh network it fails to connect operly. or keep a stable connection. I have ordered 1 but end up returning them back to Reolink.

I was advised to setup 2 separate ssid for 2.4 and 5 but hat defeats the whole point of having a mesh network.

i must say the camera quality even on App and the pre recording feature was great.

for Wireless https://reolink.com/product/argus-3/#specifications seems like a nie one wiht spotlight addition.

    • I have a very cheap Mercusys mesh system and have 2.4 ghz and 5ghz running so I can connect my smart devices. There is no issues with the mesh system and it hasn't effected it at all. Might be a setting you're missing.

      • i am unsure of any such setting as there is not much that was required to have this configured. I am running an orbi mesh network.

Are you saying that you have this specific camera connected to your mesh or is that a generic statement. As i do have other devices connected fine to my mesh system that are 2.4 Ghz only.

        • Was in reference to "but hat defeats the whole point of having a mesh network." Maybe I misunderstood
