[Preorder] Xbox Series X $399 ($329 with Level 4 EB World) ($749 without) When You Trade in Your Xbox One X @ EB Games

3455

I reckon this is an amazing deal.

Make sure you select click and collect on the website when you preorder to get this offer.

Preorders commence online on 22nd September

Alternatively, you can get the Series S version for $299 when you trade in your Xbox One S but no one would want a stovetop.

EB world is eligible for this offer so if you are on level 4, that’s $420 off the console price itself

Note: Confirmation from EB Games rep If you place an online preorder for collection in store, you don't have to trade in until release day. Which means you can secure this deal and still use your Xbox One X until release day.

  • Just wondering what advantages, you will see when it first launches? Is it worth the $330-$400 extra over a One X??
In 6-12 months yes of course, but now????

    • +3

Yeah but how much would you save by waiting? As in your Xbox one x will be worth less in a year but the series x will cost less, probably the same cost deficit, but you’ve just not had the new one for a year?

  • +2

Ok I called them up to confirm. You can trade on November 10th for these prices, but they are asking you trade in a few days before to avoid social distancing problems on the day. The girl said they are likely to offer a similar path for PS5 and PS4/Pro trade in.

  • does anyone have experience trading in console bought from overseas? does eb games still accept? how much the deduction of trade value? i bought mine in asia.

    • -1

It does not matter where you bought it from. If it is made by Microsoft, it should be the same as every other Xbox in the world. Might have problems if your power cable doesn't have an AU plug on it though.

  • Sigh…. have to buy a new TV when the price is right to experience the hdmi 2.1 4k 120fps.

  • So the pre-order is online only, what are the chances you could do this in-store once they are open again in VIC? or is there a chance the pre-order stock will sell out before Nov 10?

    • I’d be surprised if preorders dont sell out on September 22. Consoles are already selling out all through the year due to Covid, and that’s despite people knowing a new gen is coming. Add to that we’re coming into Xmas and I think it’s unlikely there would be stock 3 weeks after the 22 Sept preorders start.

I don’t think anyone knows what will happen in Vic.

  • Does anyone have an idea of the trade in price for an original xbox one at eb?

    • +2

$150. Just checked an hour ago.

      Approx $25 for extra controllers
      $7 for kinect

  • +2

Called my local for trading in the OG Xbox One 1TB model.

There is no special price sadly, but I did find out it’ll trade in for $135 (or $130 500GB).

  • +1

As much as I wanna pull the trigger on one of these and trade in my One X the law of diminishing returns seems to be happening with gaming consoles now. Much like New phones etc the improvements are starting to be minimal compared to what it was in generations past.

    • Agree entirely. Cant see me wanting to play anymore then I do.

    • +1

You get raytracing, much much faster loading times, 60fps on pretty much all games (Xbox One X does 30-60) and much better graphics. So it's not going to be minimal, the ssd from hdd is over 60x faster.

      • Yes but when will we see these? Not in November 2020. Eventually without a doubt a xsx will be owned by me.

        • Destiny 2 is going from 4K/30 to 4K/60 on November 10. That's a massive improvement in my opinion.

    • Thanks for saying that… I feel less compelled to just spend more money buying an upgraded version as I am more than happy playing FO4 on my XB1X. Useful reality check. 👍🏻

    • I tend to disagree to an extent, this will be a decent leap, you may not fully appreciate the graphics or have the TV for VBR, 4K etc but the improved load times will be a big change that has been long overdue.

      • So you think this will be a bigger leap than original Xbox > 360 and 360 > Xbox one? I really don’t think so

        • +2

It is a personal preference but keep in mind 360 to XBO wasn't huge leap until XBO X come along. I just think if you are going to go next-gen and can get $420 for your current console it is hard to justify waiting.

Next-Gen won't depreciate in 2 years by any meaningful amount but your current console will, factor in that depreciation and how long you're missing out on next-gen while you wait to save maybe $100 ($50 a year) and my personal opinion is it is not worth waiting.

If you are looking at skipping this generation all together or getting a PS5 and keeping the XBO X to play your back catalogue of games only, then different story.

  • Does anyone know if they will be taking Nintendo 2DS/3DS XLs for $100 (+ what ever EB world bonus you have) like the previous deal?

  • Any associates in here able to tell me if I will get the same trade in for the xbox one x towards the ps5?

    • +1

Probably no confirmation until Sony's Thursday's announcement of the PS5 details

      • +1

Yeah, I think so too but thought I'd ask. Thanks

PS5 EVENT this Wednesday, September 16th

Get ready for a Xbox series X price counter!

  • This feels like a solid deal. I have one of the day one scorpio editions for Xbox One but I think with the release of these next gen consoles, the One X will never become a collectors item. Only issue is my One X is back in Melbourne and I can't get back there anytime soon lol

Here are the details trade in at EB Games for the newly launched XBox S series and X Series as mentioned in the below link.

    https://press-start.com.au/news/xbox/2020/09/10/eb-games-tra…

UPDATE: We’ve now confirmed with EB Games that these prices are even better with EB World memberships. If you’re a level 4 member, you’ll get 20% extra trade value. Obviously, if you’re level 1, 2 or 3, you will still get more value but not as much as Level 4.

JOIN OUR AUSSIE XBOX SERIES X/S FACEBOOK GROUP FOR THE LATEST PRE-ORDER INFO AND DEALS.
TRADE DEALS FOR LEVEL 4 MEMBERS:
The Xbox Series X will be $329 when you trade in your Xbox One X (Level 4)
The Xbox Series S will be $259 when you trade in an Xbox One S (Level 4)
The Xbox Series X will be $509 when you trade in an Xbox One S (Level 4)
The Xbox Series S will be $79 when you trade in an Xbox One X (Level 4)
TRADE DEALS FOR NON EB WORLD MEMBERS:
The Xbox Series X will be $399 when you trade in your Xbox One X
The Xbox Series S will be $299 when you trade in an Xbox One S
The Xbox Series X will be $549 when you trade in an Xbox One S
The Xbox Series S will be $149 when you trade in an Xbox One X
We’ve also now confirmed that you’ll get these discounts off either console (so you’ll be able to trade a One S towards a Series X and a One X towards a Series S). The original Xbox One will get you $150 off (an extra 20% if you’re a Level 4 member.

Both of these are actually quite reasonable. The Xbox Series S in particular for $299 when trading in an Xbox One S is extremely decent. The Xbox One S has regularly been available to buy brand new for less than $200 in recent times.

As we reported last night, EB Games has confirmed that pre-orders will be online only and will require a $200 deposit. Just for clarity, once you pre-order online, you will be able to go into store and trade in your console, add money to your pre-order etc.

  • UNBOXING ONE X BOX SERIES X BOX in youtube soon!

  • Whilst I had zero interest in buying a Series X, reflecting on this further, given the $346.50 changeover price from my trade in of the 1X at level 3, which will guarantee I can play the latest games for the next 4 years or so, and have a new console to boot, it sounds quite reasonable. Wonder if I can get the same deal in store (rather than online only) as I have credit from the PS4 Pro trade in. Hm!

    • +1

Was thinking the same. And then I thought. What would happen if I just wait 6 or so months later, maybe even have a better TV? Prices should be down lower and then just sell the One X privately. There is still heaps of One S demand now, so should be fine with the One X.

Would I really play any of the new Series X games more then I play the One X? Doubt it. I would look at the fancy graphics for a while. Gett annoyed by moving games around. So personally, I am waiting to see where things head.

May cost me $50-$100 worse case. I have only had the One X for less than a month (got it 2nd hand nice and cheap).

Realistically I would love an Xbox One X slim, because that beast is not going to fit very well inside my cabinet in the slightest.

      • Oops meant to say I would like a Xbox series x slim, but that is years away…..

        Damn stupid Xbox names.

      • Yeah size and shape of the series X is something that will make me think twice as I have the same issue with my cabinet, even if the Xbox is turned on it's side (which it can be apparantly). I would likely need to hide it behind the TV itself which would be a bit of a pain for access. I wonder if they really considered this factor much in the design.

  • Alternatively, you can get the Series S version for $299 when you trade in your Xbox One S but no one would want a stovetop.

I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW… I kinda want the Series S. It's adorable and I really don't need 4K (I have a 4K TV, but the input lag when running it at 4K is horrible).

  • +2

Does anyone know if you can use EB gift cards for the deposit?

I'm tempted to get some discounted EB gift cards but would hate for them not be usable… and then get stuck with them…

  • Anyone know if you can trade a Xbox One S and a Xbox One X too for these prices towards one console?

  • Would I be better to get Series S if I'm playing on a 1440p monitor?

    • If you want to save money, then yes. Just be mindful the S is only digital.

      • +2

That doesn't really save money - digital versions of console games usually cost significantly more than the often-discounted physical versions !

    • If money isn’t an issue I would buy the X. Resolution won’t be the only difference between the two consoles given how much more powerful the X is.

  • Do you actually lose carrot (points?) during the trade in ? Was planning to use a mate's membership to get this deal.
    TIA

    • You get extra carrots for trade-ins.

      • Thanks for clarifying!

  • So, I bought my One X for $500 a few years back (plus RDR2, Forza 7, Forza Horizon 4) and I'm only going to lose $150 dollars for trading it in for the latest/greatest?

What's the catch? Besides the giant box that'll no longer fit under my TV cabinet…

I expect all the games I currently have on One X will play as good or better?

    • +1

On the xbox series x yes, on the series s probably not.

  • I did the deal saturday - the old s (not used as I have a old X)and 7 games I got and wont play (division/titanfall/destiny/dark souls/elder scrolls/dragonball/dragon age)
$261.80 on gift card ready for an new X!

Cant complain as the mrs bought it for $299 in 2017!!!

  • +1

So I bought an xbox one s a couple of years ago thanks to a deal on here for $179. Now I get to trade it in and make money (sort of), sounds like a good deal to me :)

  • Same deal for PS5… preorder is LIVE!!!

    • It’s $50 less trade in value for the ps4 pro isn’t it?

      • Correct.. but then again, PS4 Pro is slightly older and slightly less powerful.

  • +2

PS5 preorder sold out in 30 minutes

  • Hoping i will get something back for trading in my OG 500gb One S. lol

  • sold my xbox one x boxed with 3 games for $430

    Xbox Series X here I come $$$

  • Did anyone suss out with EB if you get the same trade amount on each console if you trade two consoles towards one pre-order? I’m needing to pre-order two XSS’ which will be two separate transactions and obviously I can’t use my EB bonus in the second order.

    • Did you not try and contact them yourself?

      • Different EB staff quite often say different things from store-to-store, just curious what replies anyone may have got if they asked.

Thanks for your informative reply though.

        • +1

I spoke with my local EB the other day, they said that there's an additional bonus of $50 on the first console traded in (hence the competitive pricing on the headline trade-in rates). Additional consoles could also be traded in, but wouldn't receive that additional bonus beyond the first. My understanding is you still get your level bonus across all items traded in though.

          • @gibspmuh: Thanks for that. Going to duck into my local today to see what they see, just wanted to see what others had been told.

          • @gibspmuh: I got told different today via my local store… so will be interesting on trade day. They said I could trade 3x consoles in for my 2x preorders and all 3 get the elevated trade-in values.

            • @AaronR: Haha, this is exactly what I’m talking about with employees saying something different from store to store.

  • What time is the pre sale kicking off tomorrow? 8am?

    • Yep, 8AM AEST.

Australia (8AM AEST): Microsoft Store, JB Hifi, EB Games, Telstra, Harvey Norman, and other participating retailers

  • Will EB Games trade in an Xbox One X for a PS5? Or are their console trade-in's same brand only?

    • +1

      Yes they will.

  • Wouldn't mind trading in a ps4 pro to try out this new xbox. The top model seems to be slightly more powerful than the ps5.. though time will tell.

    • +2

It definitely is more capable. But it isn't about power. It's always about the games. Get the one which has games you wanna play.

  • is there an option to choose whether I pre-order with trade in or just pre-order it and when I collect it I bring my original xbox one x in?

    Thanks

    • Nope but you do need to select click & collect if you want to trade-in. You can trade in anytime between pre-ordering and launch day.

  • So because this is online only I cant take advantage of my friends level 4 membership, fingers crossed they open this up to retail stores if they don't sell out as fast as the PS5 (I think there will be more stock than Sony and less demand, so this should be easier to obtain).

  • So as I read this I can trade in my PS4 for a New Xbox series X on my Level 3 membership but value of the PS4 is $50 less than the old Xbox?

  • Can anyone confirm if you can trade a Xbox One S for a Series X? If so, what’s the trade in credit?

    • Yes you can:

The Xbox Series X will be $399 when you trade in your Xbox One X
The Xbox Series S will be $299 when you trade in an Xbox One S
The Xbox Series X will be $549 when you trade in an Xbox One S
The Xbox Series S will be $149 when you trade in an Xbox One X

  • Waking up before 8am is going to be a mission :/

  • Can I trade my Xbox one X towards a ps5 with level 4 and get $420 credit ?

    • Yes

  • +1
    • +1

      Imagine releasing Brink 2 lol

    • All those games and future ones are exclusive to Xbox. Then I'm moving to Xbox.

  • "EB Games is under heavy load right now!
Please try refreshing in a few minutes."

  • Got a timeout on payment page three times… but it went through in the end.

  • damn tried multiple times :( still no luck!

  • COME ON EB!!!

  • oh god, getting a connection error in the cart…

  • Unsurprisingly the website has eaten shit.
