I think it has written 45 days. My policy costs $191, so I guess they are giving me money. I'll take one for me and my wife. Thanks.
Wait you can literally pay per months as there's nothing in the T&C which states you have to pay in full. Seems too good to be true.
Haha I have seen a few of these pop up every now and then. Always seem to get the voucher and then I cancel.
If it’s per months then it’s too good to be true.
Did car insurance quote. Jack up Excess to $1850, Put No driver under 25, Agreed Value to lowest possible amount and select monthly payments. $22per month.
Worse case $44 for a $250 voucher which is received after 45 days of holding the insurance.
Cancel when voucher is received.
@spuderump: You’re right never thought about car insurance. Just checked content works out cheaper for me.
@spuderump: Didn't let me pay fortnightly!
@TomGum: What makes you think you can cancel after a few months? Even if you pay by the month isn't it an annual policy?
@WaywardOne: its not an annual policy. is it?
@PissLUR: Paying monthly let’s you cancel anytime.
@spuderump: More like, worst case scenario is you get into an at fault accident then the 250 wont mean jack.
Subject to meeting these terms and conditions, the digital reward code will be sent to the policy holder via the mobile phone number provided at the time of joining within 14 days after your policy cover has been active for 45 days.
is it applicable for extras only cover? Or need to be hospital and extras cover?
Hospital and Extras.
Perfect timing. My current landlord insurance expires on 12/9/20
Landlord insurance quote via CUA $843 - underwritten by Allianz.
less $250 Credit card = $593
Direct quote - Allianz $763 Savings $170
also I get to claim more on my Tax !! Win win.
How do you claim car insurance on tax?
He said landlord insurance.
Oh yeh, missed that.
Anyone has Promotional Code ?
Doesn't appear to be any, I assume it is activated by clicking the link on the splash page though.
Anyone used these guys before? They are over $20 per month cheaper than my current home and contents.
I took up the cover but it concerns me that they didn't ask for the value of the home or who its financed through like an insurer normally would.
This looks too good to be true. I'm going to sign up my whole family for car insurance and cancel after 2 months. Easy $1k. What am I missing?
Nothing. That's the thing but best to grab screenshots.
Is the gift card per policy or per customer?
You can have up to 4 policies (1000)
Where does it say that u can have up to 4 policies eligible for 250 gitcard
I definitely saw it, I think it was on facebook, on the ad photo text
Get a $250 reward for each new Comprehensive Motor, Home & Contents,
Landlord, or combined Hospital & Extras insurance policy – up to $1,000!*
My suggestion is that this offer should be approached in the spirit in which it is presented.
Specifically, it's a great incentive to switch insurers or to try Allianz.
But if too many people sign up with the clear intention of cancelling after 2 months, then it becomes less and less likely that we'll see this sort of offer in the future.
I'm sure there's some kind of saying about this, like: "Privileges abused, get removed."In that case they should have kept it family and friends instead of putting it on the website
You have to add your mobile phone number to receive card, I nearly forgot. Just signed up for contents as my old one was set for renewal
In switching health as well, just received my Bupa 9saver egift card
You have to have a transaction account with them for health so the next step would be to open that. The policy is also cheaper starting before Oct 1
good to get landlord insurance with rent cover.. pretty much all other insurer stopped offering them in the time of covid
Rent cover has a limited wording and is defined events cover. Not worth the money. You can get accidental damage cover cheaper and it's a LOT more cover.
I didn't neg you by the way.
I called up - rent cover is pretty much non existent during covid so I'm pretty confident you can ignore that part of the offer.
How much are you guys paying for home and content insurance at the moment. Is it just me or the quotes seem to be really crazy now
Yeah, they are really high. The only thing I can think of is that they have been adjusted for this year's bushfire season?
Any requirement for the level of health insurance? I see it needs to be hospital and extras combined, but can I just get basic hospital and low extras and qualify for the $250?
yes
done.
$25pm car insurance.Aside from the voucher and car insurance, for home and landlord you should be looking at an Accidental Damage policy, not these super limited Defined Events policies. They barely provide any cover.
You have to take phpto ID to the branch to use the bank account and get 4% off health insurance
Says comprehensive motor insurance so I'm guessing third party isn't included
This is a dumb question, I apologise in advance for my ignorance. Is it okay if I get tenants insurance when I just live at home with my family? Are there any repercussions for being dishonest about the application if you don't claim anything? Thanks
Don't do it, that's fraud and could end up costing you much more than $250.
You could always take out the health insurance if you just want the gift card?
Well, I called them and they said they don't need a lease agreement for contents insurance. Currently I'm living with the family and am paying them to live in the house. I'm wondering if that makes me a tenant or not. There's nothing really written in their terms and conditions of what a tenant is, or maybe I missed something…
Health insurance is 75pm and contents is 22pm
Are there any repercussions for being dishonest about the application if you don't claim anything? Thanks
In an event that you may need to make a claim, you're giving them reasons to reject your claim, on a platter. Kinda giving away free money? Also, when applying for new policies, most insurances ask if you have ever been denied insurance..
Im not sure if its a big thing - looks like 'Legal Liability' of 20mil is missing with CUA House and Content
nvm about this comment looks like under what you are covered for is not mention how ever proposed cover has it covered
I'm already with Allianz for car insurance, if i cancel my Allianz and get a new policy through CUA will I still be eligible?
OP, How will I know that I will receive this $250 prepaid digital mastercard? I just join their comprehensive car insurance as well as landlord insurance.
did you put mobile?
Yup. There is no confirmation at all regarding this prepaid digital MasterCard.
will receive a text on your mobile after 60days of cover (45 days then the GC will be sent out within 2 weeks after 45 days)
You need to download an app then the GC will be loaded onto the app.
Any promo code?
I checked the t and cs yesterday and there were no changes
Thanks OP. needed to swap anyway, might as well be in running to get $250 * 2 for car and home.
The PDS says the following
We may deduct from your refund amount any reasonable administrative and transaction costs incurred by us that are reasonably related to you buying and cancelling your policy and any government taxes or duties we cannot recover.
Like all insurance policies, it's deliberately grey as to what "administrative and transaction costs" mean - could it include them recouping part of the $250?
Good question.
I severely doubt they will charge you to cancel.
If they do I would threaten the ombudsman and they will waive it.
So if you take three different policies, one family health, two separate car insurances under different names then the gift card entitled value be $250 times by 3 = $750?
yes
For home insurance, can someone confirm whether it could be content only or you must have both building and content?
I just got contents
Anyone got the prepaid mastercard yet?
not yet, but my 45 days is on the 23rd
My 45th day is 21st.
please report :D
Waiting now.@sicinadan: Today marks my 45th day and I didn't get my $250 gift card.
@TomGum: Ha thanks the update, same here brought 5 polices and nothing
Cheers
@sicinadan: Did you chase them up?
@nightelves: Neh.. I will wait for another 2 weeks
@sicinadan: If you paid fortnightly wouldn’t you get charge extra?
@nightelves: I selected monthly, so not sure
@sicinadan: Fair enough.
@sicinadan: Any update on GC?
@Ash-Say: Have to wait 14 days after 45 days.
@TomGum: Ok
@Ash-Say: Got my first prepaid mastercard today.
@nightelves: Same got both of mine today.
@TomGum: Wow did you get two? I’ve only got 1 did they come at the same time?
@nightelves: Came at the same time.
@TomGum: Mine might come tomorrow as I did two policies on separate days.
@nightelves: Yeh I did mine on the same day.
@TomGum: Are you gonna cancel the policy?
does there landlord insurance cover rent defaults?
also my policy came up as $175 a year. Is there a catch for the $250 giftcard?
Ok, so it says with 14 days after meeting the 45 days.
so the main thing is the cancel the policy after 45 days and then wait another 2 weeks.
"Subject to meeting these terms and conditions, the digital reward code will be sent to the policy holder via the mobile phone number provided at the time of joining within 14 days after your policy cover has been active for 45 days.'
Oh ok I missed that part.
Just a heads up, got today the virtual card. Worked perfectly fine
where is the email come from?
It's an SMS, no Email
What was the email address that it came from
Anyone applied for 2 car insurances and got both gift cards? I am thinking of signing up my second car.
Also anyone who signed up for contents only, did you get your gift card?
Yeah I signed up for content only and got the giftcard today. When you did you car insurance was it full comp or third party?
I did a comp.
Would also like to know if I can insure both cars with comprehensive under my name and receive 2 gift cards
got mine yesterday and cancelled my policy today. $210 profit for 10 mins work, thanks OP!
Edit - Also see the deal is still going, time to take out some contents insurance.
Was it easy to cancel?

How long do you have to keep health cover to get gift card?
