1080

Hey everyone, first time poster so here goes.

Was browsing Pizza Hut for a cheeky lunch when I found this offer.

No Coupon Code Required and as per T&Cs:

  • To be eligible to receive this Offer you must make an online purchase at Pizza Hut using an active Zip Account during the Offer Period.
  • The credit back is capped at $10 AUD per purchase and a maximum of $30 AUD credit back per Customer (i.e. you are only eligible to redeem this Offer three (3) times).
  • The $10 AUD credit back amount will be applied to the Zip Account from which the eligible purchase was made within 14 business days of the purchase being processed.

No mention of a minimum spend but with the wording of credit back I assume it's spend $10 to get $10 credited.

I saw this offer as well but wasn't able to locate T&C so did not post earlier. Have messaged ZIP to get T&Cs

Edit - Here is the T&C link (not much) - https://a.storyblok.com/f/49069/x/9ed04ad923/pizza-hut-credi…

    • +2

Wow it can be used 3 times so it's actually $30 ZIP credit

    • +1

      question:

where to see the $10 credit? I just orderred, but nothing

and zip schduled auto payment of $20 each fornightly, even i pay it off now, i could not adjust the direct debit to zero?

      • Help, even i paid the balance in full, they still require me to pay $20 per fornight?

        • (1) The credit is like cash back - it will show up in your ZIP transaction history (they say it may take 14 days but it showed up in couple of days for me)
          (2) I think the minimum payment is $40 per month or $10 per week - however if your balance is Zero they won't deduct any payment.

          • @bajirao: thanks, so i will setup an amount exactly the same as my zip balance,

is the credit has any expiry date to use?

          • @bajirao: for example, i ordered 3 pizza 3 times, each time cost me $10.50, so with the credit applied, i only owe zip $10.50x3 pizza cost-$10x3 credit back=$1.5.

But i could not change the scheduled payment to under $20. If the deducted $20 from my zip account, balance is negative $18.5, can i have the $18.5 paid back to my credit card? any fees? can i use Amex to earn points?

            • @jjj123: Just pay monthly. If you balance is under $40, it'll just take that amount from your funding source. I bet when you know well about how Zip works, especially its single use mastercard, you'll use it as priority to your CC/DC on many occasions. It can potentially max interest free up to 115 days without any fee. No AmEx with Zip.

        • When you signed up with Zip and you provided your credit card as payment method, Zip will charge your card with $20 fortnightly as default if you don't change it. If your spend is less than $40 for 4 weeks, you really don't need to do anything.

Does a zippay account trigger a credit check?

    • +24

      yes

      • +1

He answered the question? He got negged for that???😮

        • Yeah I'm curious why he got negged as well.

        • +5

Probably by people who disagree that Zip Pay accounts have credit checks. Not for answering the question per se

          • @Scope: This is enticing, my credit check is worth $10 off a pizza that i can get 1 free on Tuesdays or just as good with existing vouchers

          • +1

@Scope: It's a fact both AfterPay and ZipPay have credit checks…It's closer to a personal loan so, of course they do

  • +57

Imagine financing a pizza. What a time to be alive.

    • +9

I finance everything with my credit card. Why should I use a debit card when I can get up to 55 days interest free plus points for free?

      • +7

Zip isn't a credit card, there are no points or anything else to benefit from.

        • +1

That’s why I said credit card and not Zip, clearly in this case Zip is better because you benefit from the $10.

          • +1

@neilpatrickharris: ehhh.. I kind of value no credit enquiry on my file than a free $10..

            • @TRAVELO: If you are good with your Zip account you would have gotten much more free money than $10. Especially true when a promo is provided by the merchants so you can double/triple/100x claim with new accounts. Not to mention the whopping (up to) 4 months of interest free period when you pay by credit cards.

            • @TRAVELO: Having debt isn't necessarily bad. If you have a good credit history. It shows that you can pay off your debts in time then they are more inclined to lend you money.

              • @nobro25:

                Having debt isn't necessarily bad.

But having debt for a pizza is. The bank isn't going to know you only did it for $10 cash back.

              • @nobro25: Only when it shows you have a history of repayments with the new credit reporting system. Other than that, a lot of banks look down on you for having open credit when applying for loans.

        • I'm sure someone will argue this $10 credit back is the benefit. I'll pass based on the fact I don't think these financial pay later services promote healthy financial habits.

Not to mention the extra scrutiny you'll get when applying for actual credit (i.e. home loan) in the future. Might not stop you getting the loan but it'd be annoying to have to justify just because you wanted to split purchases into 4 payments.

        • No points or anything, other than this $10 back? 🤔

      • You forgot the credit card surcharge

      • True, and if you use it to buy things you can already afford, the money owed in 55 days can make you money if it's earning interest/invested in that time. Not practical with little purchases, but big ones, it makes a good difference.

I don't even have a credit card but I can see the benefits, which is why I want one, see my forum post if you wonder why I don't have one.

    • -1

When you use your credit card it’s the same thing.

    • +1

      Imagine financing a pizza.

These companies really seem to target the young and/or dumb.

      • +3

It is essential the same thing, credit card companies also make their profits from those who really use the cards as a line of credit. If you use your credit cards for rewards, you will do the same with Zip, and both at the same time.

  • Do pizza hut do vouchers? If so, do you get credit back if you use a voucher?

    • Would like to know this too

    • +5

Yes and yes. Use code HUT5130 for 30% off.

Got the spicy chicken for $2.56

      • Order three times and do not pick up (if the store is too far). I assume $30 is on the way?

        • Yeah I mean it says any purchase, so I'm assuming there's no $10 minimum spend or anything like that. Would like to see if there's a confirmation email for the credit or something

  • +2

Free pizza! Excellent time to be a turtle

  • Can we withdraw that 10 dollars credit? Or do we have to use via zip pay?

Anyway, if the minimum spend is 10 dollars, there are only 3 options available that a tad above 10 bucks (10.95) : ham lovers, and 2 vegan pizzas.

edit : You can downsize the more expensive pizzas to medium so it becomes 11.95ish

    • Can't withdraw unfortunately, has to be used on ZIP

    • Probably can buy gift cards using that cash back.

    • +1

it will be balance against the amount you own to zip i.e. lets say you paid $11 for pizza, zip credit $10 few days later, and now you can just pay $1 to make your balance with zip $0.

    • +2

I see $5 pizzas, get two of those for $10 exactly

  • Anyone else just created a zip account through one of those ozbargain referral links and have no clue whether the referral actually worked? Lol

    • It will appear in few days … not straight away … if it don't, just call them. I called and they credited same day.

    • Does anyone know if the ZIP referral actually still works?

      • +1

I definitely see a 'refer your friends' option, and it's $10

      • +1

Yes, currently $10 for both referrer and referree.

      • Seems to be targeted — I had the refer a friend option show up before but now it's disappeared.

  • +2

thanks op dinner all sorted for the next few days

    Z1P to the moon 🚀

    • r/ASX_Bets is leaking 😂

      • could not be keener for my Christmas tendies

  • Nice deal. Shame the 2 pizza huts near me seem to have both shut down, but not surprising given how dodgy they were.

  • Free pizza - Hot Pepperoni $9.95 plus a drink. Lunch tomorrow sorted

  • How can lunch be "cheeky"..You needed a feed so you sorted out a way to get a meal. Perhaps it's deemed "cheeky" because it's "unhealthy"?

    • Yes, I believe so. i.e. cheeky as in it's an unhealthy treat

  • Has anyone placed an order? Do you need to register an account with Pizza Hut? There are 4 payment options and at the bottom Pay with ZipPay. I clicked on Pay with ZipPay and was sent a code. Couldn't check out. Do you need to choose one of the 4 payment options before you click Pay with Zip?

  • T&C doesn't say anything about minimum purchase as far as I can see.

Do you think this means I could buy a $3 bottle of water, or even a 95c Tomato sauce dip, and still get a $10 credit?

    • That's right. I spent $9.95 and got $10 Zip credit, others have only spent $3 and still got $10 credit.

      • Did you get the credit immediately after ordering?

        • +1

Not immediately but within the same day.

          • @spamus: Thanks

          • +1

@spamus: Still haven't received the credit. Ordered yesterday morning. I have raise the issue with customer care.

            • +1

@Iluvfreebies: I give it 3 days before do so.

            • +1

@Iluvfreebies: Me neither. How did you pay? I wasn't able to use the default method so I had to generate a card number.

              • +1

@ChillBro: I paid via zippay on my laptop chrrome browser, not via app. I didn't have to generate a card or anything. On the payment screen it redirected to zippay website for the payment and then back.
I don't mind the delay in credit, just want to me sure I will get it eventually as I will make second order today.

                • +1

@Iluvfreebies: I tried that before resorting to the card generation method but it kept failing for me.

Here's hoping we'll both receive it because I also plan on making another order soon.

                  • +1

@ChillBro: I usually disable all adblock extensions before making a payment. It interference with the payment process and cashback from shopback.

                  • @ChillBro: I called them. they said, it was an eligible purchase and I will receive the credit in 14 days.

              • @ChillBro: @ChillBro did you get your credit by single use card method? I haven't and they have said it's ineligible. Is there anyway of arguing it?

                • @angelique008: I did although I had to email them. Think I got lucky as they processed it manually.

My 'argument' was simply that the T&Cs didn't specifically mention which payment method was eligible/ineligible.

I couldn’t get th is to work. Used zip app. But when it comes to checkout there is no zipay option. The create zip barcode also doesn’t work …

    • i am having the same issue. i used my phone and chrome on pc but zip option doesnt apear. Rascals promoting it so much but not implementing it

      • Appears on PC for me but not mobile.

        • didn't appear for me i tried 3 different browsers:( now i ordered the 2 for 1, only problem now i have to go pick it up

    • Same here. I generated a virtual card on mobile app and used it for paying. Hope the transaction counts

      • Did it work?

        • +1

Still waiting for cashback. Won't know until 14 days

  • Warning: looks like there are problems with ordering online with Zip.

I tried this today and the store insisted that they didn't receive the order (gave name and order code), even though my Zip account was charged for the purchase. Took two calls and 40 minutes on the line to customer service to finally get it refunded.

    • appreciate the heads up…

if this zippay works with 2 for 1 Tuesday deal… it still worths the chance to try out…

EDIT: Oddly enough, i tried 2 for 1 Tuesday deal, no code no nothing but on check out still charging for 2x prices.

Does anyone know how this works??? 2for1 deal???

      • The price if one of those pizza have to be higher that $14.95

        • cheers… figure this out on testing a few transactions.

  • +1

    Cashrewards $2 bonus today.

    • Thanks. Almost forgot after activating earlier in the day.

  • +1

Has this worked for anyone? Not willing to make an order if there's going to be issues….

    • You won't know till 14 days.

    • usually, they will honour it and sometimes you won't get the credit for some glitch.

give the CS a call, just take a few mins.

    • it worked for me… ordered on pizza hut's online store and paid using zip

  • Might be a dumb question, but is it possible to pay all your zip debt immediately so you dont get charged the $6 monthly fee? Or does that get charged anyway?

    • yeah you can pay it off

    • Or you can set the automatic payment to pay before the end of the month to avoid the fee

    • Just set up over what you spent on payment schedule to avoid the debt carries over to next statement.

you can check when the debt is due to be paid, and for safety just set around 28th of the month for the debt to pay off.

      • so its misleading on their website up to 60 days interest free? $6/month waived if you have no balance. i just pay the full balance on the last day of the month with bundll to be on the safe side as i dont want to pay $6 fee. but can i just pay $40 on the last day of the first month and then wait for statement and pay the full remaining balance at the end of the second month or will i get charged the $6?

        • +1

You get a statement at the end of the month. You then have another month to pay off what is shown on the statement, so that's how you get "up to 60 days".

So if I have no balance, then spend $10 on July 1, you'll get a statement on Aug 1 and then have to pay back the $10 by Aug 31 to avoid the monthly fee.

          • @spamus: thanks spamus for that ill give it a try. the zip email rep are useless and misinformed me.

  • +5

i made a garlic bread order for $4.95 and got $10 credit back in my Zip account…it works

  • +6

No minimum order amount. I asked zip.
