Should probably mention that it's a SODIMM kit in the title

OP had SO-DIMM in the title the whole time

This is how it showed to me:
        16GB (2x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Amazon A$91.78 Delivered with Prime

Description always had it… but title is now fixed too.

  • Expect 1 month + delivery from Amazon US.. extremely slow at the moment.

    • I ordered the older version on 28 Aug for a few bucks more on this deal which is shipped now and showing to be delivered on or around 23 Sep. This is a much better deal newer model RAM and even cheaper than the previous one.

    • yeah i ordered a 32GB pack a month ago still hasnt shipped.

  • How much more performance is this vs a 8x2 2666mhz? Gaming and normal tasks

    • Depends on what your laptop will run it at… if laptop can handle it'll run at 3200MHz or else slow down to the speed the DDR4 slots on your laptop board support… but I believe difference will be unnoticeable… it's more future proofing going for a higher speed ram, IMHO.

  • Good price for the crucial sticks. Although personally I'd be going for CL16 or cl18 3200 kits that are around 105 to 110 on deals.

Also do note that I don't think intel currently supports 3200mhz in laptops so this is almost exclusively for ryzen laptops. Otherwise there's a lot of options for 2666mhz kits for intel systems.

    • My laptop has 7th gen i7 and Crucial compatibility checker showed the 3200 kit model number (CT4G4SFS632A) which I bought on this deal is compatible to my Intel based laptop. This deal is for a newer model of the ram I bought and I'd expect it to be more tolerant on the system architecture.

I believe that they are compatible but you won't be running 3200mhz only 2666mhz in which case there's a lot of options and this more of a standard price.

I didn't quite realise but intel 10th gen can uses speeds above 2666mhz but 9th gen and below were capped at 2666mhz.

        Intel's own list

So the real benefits are if you have a ryzen based laptop or 10th gen.

Edit: A closer look shows not all 10th gen intel supports 3200mhz as well. only some SKUs do

        • I'm only upgrading from 1 x 8GB DDR-2400 so running at 2666 and at dual channel will be the benefits for me. Also possibly, some room for performance if I upgrade to a better laptop in the future.

  • Any one in WA want to go halves, I have Prime, pm me direct please.

  • This is best for Ryzen 4000 laptops. Older or Intel laptops can't run at these speeds so might as well get some cheaper memory.

CAS latency is average for laptop RAM, but you can get much faster CAS16 ram for usually around $110 on sale

  • Would be nice to be able to use this on synology boxes
