Im extremely happy with the JBL I bought from the BigW deal but am contemplating running the gauntlet and buying one of these too. I’m still yet to determine why 😁
How does this compare to the previous JBL one? easy to have as computer desk setup speaker and move away as well?

No. But you can connect it in a Group of speakers in Google Home - all playing the same mono music in different locations. Am using that with the $99 JBL Link Portable. It's handy.
That's not stereo & doesn't improve the quality of the sound. Just makes it more available in other spaces, or louder.
Other speaker devices can be linked as stereo pairs via their own app. A different option for better quality sound from mono speaker devices.
Comment in JBL Link Portable that 'Stereo Pair' in Home app can pair 2 of those speakers. I was surprised to learn that.
Option seems to only show if you have a pair - so might work with these!!
