Agreed. Bought this on sale for a similar price and it’s absolutely dire. Talk about lifeless. There is essentially nothing going for this game aside from maybe the rain/neon combo… but that’s a stretch.
What haven't they
I thought this was actually a good game. Pretty short though and not much replay value but still haven’t played a arcade style fun racer that I have enjoyed more in years. I did get it for around this price near to its release.
Again no couch mutliplayer. Pass.
Bought this game with the intention of playing an arcade racer with mates on the semi-regular online. It was fun for a time while I relived my nostalgic memories of Underground 2, but eventually the game started to feel grindy and lacking depth. Didn't pay retail, I got it on 'sale' pretty soon after the final update (they added cross-play) was dropped; so there's nothing to look forward to and little reason for me to even boot it up.
Really hope Criterion Games can turn this franchise around.
I think it's difficult as EA have too much control leading to Criterion devs from Burnout days to leave and form their own Indie studio to make stuff like Dangerous Driving. It's been years upon years where I've played an NFS game that was actually 'fun' (probably Most Wanted on ps3)
I liked the game. (Think it's one of the better need for speeds).
But there is a lack of content. I tried it out on EA Access and it took me less than two weeks to 100%. I think it was 30hours in total.
Really annoying that you can't remap the controls at all, which means no changing gears on the right stick 😥
And the handling model sucks
Put me down as someone who actually really enjoyed this game. The customisation is at an all-time best, and even though the story is fairly average and ain't that difficult to complete quickly, this is just good dumb fun to just blast around in.
EA really fuçked this series up.
