Not the cheapest price (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/462184) but cheapest I could find currently for what seems like a highly rated soundbar.

$954.00 from TGG Commercial :) i have one the sound is not bad!
paid a fair bit less my self - bare this in mind https://imgur.com/XmJITW3
Wow can I ask how you got this price? That's crazy cheap,!
that was just the price when i was looking on their portal so i snapped up after a little research :)
On the TGGC portal you mean ? So does the price on TGGC fluctuate a lot? $771 is a steal for this soundbar based on the price history I reckon, great pick up
@cantthinkofone: yep their prices fluctuate a lot :D be good to aggregate it
@semice: Damn… I thought I already got a good deal end of June for this. Got my guy to come down to $950 in store and paid with discounted gift cards so net cost ~$903. Well done !!
Yeah great soundbar, 4k passthrough etc. Price isn't great here though, I paid less than $1k nearly 3 years ago.
Keep in mind this doesn't come with a wall mounting bracket (which is stupidly expensive: https://www.westcoasthifi.com.au/product/yamaha-spm-k20-wall… - $129).
I got mine with the mounting bracket for $985.00 including delivery from Addicted To Audio a month or so ago so if you're after one it's worth asking around and see what price you can get.
Am I missing something? What's so great about that bracket? Why not just get L brackets and paint them black?

How is this 7.1 if they're all front facing speakers? (genuinely curious)
it does some magically bouncing off the wall trickery to achieve a fake effect. sorta works sometimes.
the soundbar quality itself though is amazing. i have one. beats the TV sound quality (and i have a top of the line Panasonic OLED).
Beating TV audio isn't saying much no matter how top of the line your TV is.
Because it's a projector which bounces the sound off the walls to make them appear as if they're coming from different parts of the room. Tricky stuff - it works, but never like a proper 5.1 or above surround system.
In a perfectly square room with clean straight walls, will do the job exactly the same.
One of the cons with this soundbar is that you can't get satellite speakers for a true surround sound effect. Even though it supports musiccast.
I've got a very bulky 3.2 system and I wouldn't mind the simplicity. Wonder if I'll ever get used to the sound.
How do you guys use soundbars, plugged into your TVs as replacement speakers? I like the idea of them but am still confused. My use case is a Phillips htl2160, plugged into a tv via composite cables. So if I'm watching Netflix and switch to 5.1 audio, and 'surround' on my soundbar, it's no way surround like a proper amp and 5.1 setup like using an amp and 5 speakers. What am I missing here? On a 1k system like this, is the trickery very good then, of surround rather than my cheap unit? I guess I never get the feeling of a proper front speaker, and rather feel like it's stereo which isn't great for speech in tv and movies.
I think you have already provided answer of your question….. composite cables.
It will only be transferring analog signals to your soundbar. And then the soundbar might or might not "emulate" the surround sound effect well.If your tv has optical output and soundbar has optical input, try to connect using them and see if there will be any significant improvement?
Also, it really depends on if your tv will pass through any of the sound digital encoding standard properly too. Thanks man. I guess I'm still tied (literally) to composite tech. But will give optical a try. So it's a matter of analogue signalling perhaps.
Use HDMI cable connect to the hdmi ARC Out port on the sound bar. Everytime you turn on the TV, the soundbar will automatically turn on.
Whoa your horses man! Haha no ARC… No HDMI on this old soundbar. Might try the optical route. Mentioning composite around here has got me thinking it's time to giddy up on a few things.
Sorry I thought we were talking about this yamaha ysp2700 soundbar.
@itstuan: All good man. Thanks.
"My use case is a Phillips htl2160, plugged into a tv via composite cables"
You still living in the 2000's?
Use HDMI My good sir. It does video and sound. May I ask what device you are using those cables with? I have not seen them since the early days of the 360.
Yeah man bad. Tried to move my PS4 to another room the other day to an old tv and only then realised it doesn't have composite cables anymore. I think it's a lot to do with having dozens of spares over the years so been ingrained using white/red/yellow cabling.
For whomever been talking about HDMI cable will fix the problem, check the model of the soundbar he has - it's a Phillips htl2160 and will not accept HDMI cable.
Thanks man, yeah no HDMI it's only composite and optical.
I paid $800 for mine when Bing Lee had it on sale for $1,000 and ebay had a 20% off sale
(https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/378419)This model has been around for 5 years. I wonder if a new model will be coming up real soon.
according to forums yamaha has ditched production of soundbars
