    Best beer deal?

  • one use limit?

  • +4

even with 20% off their prices are not very competitive for cheap beer

  • +6

Prices are 20% expensive compared to DM right now.

  • +1

Looks like can't use (TENOFF) to get 10$ off 100$ spend as its not listed on shopback. Plus can't use the gift card to get cashback.
I think we will be better off at dan's with gc.

  • +3

Last $20 offer from Shopback wasn't honoured for me. Some excuse, even though in the click log there is BWS only minutes before my actual purchase…

    • +4

I had an issue with the last 20% cashback last month that didn’t track. I took a screenshot just as I placed my order showing the red ShopBack app border around my bws screen, so there is not doubt I was using SB. Still waiting to hear back from SB if they will honour it, but don’t have much hope :( Its the first time I’ve had an issue with BWS tracking, but there were heaps and heaps of comments on the 20% offer thread last month of complaints from people having tracking issues.

      • +3

Maybe they had "issues" with their tracking this "once". But even after I sent evidence to shopback with a receipt, click history, screenshot etc, they still just sent a copy and paste email with a bunch of reasons it may have been rejected. None of which applied to me. So I found their followup / customer service is ordinary as their tracking…

        • Hi Wizballs, happy to see if this can be overturned. If you like, PM through your email address and I'll follow up with the team.

          • @gotyourback: hi mate - i've had heaaaps of issues with shopback customer service recently - do you think i can get some help as well?

            • @cbee: If you have existing email threads in place, PM me your concerns and email address and I'll raise this with the team. Otherwise, shoot something through to [email protected] + PM me your email address.

          • @gotyourback: thanks, done.

          • @gotyourback: Just an update for anyone still reading this thread. After a couple of emails & PM's, shopback did credit my account. Got there in the end…

        • That’s very disappointing :( I didn’t even use a discounted gift card as then you don’t get cashback, and now that it hasn’t tracked, I’m actually more out of pocket than I would have been had I not used ShopBack as I would have used a gift card! Won’t be falling for their upsized cashback again…!

          • -1

@IamMe: I HV never had issues as long as you follow the steps in Terms & Conditions

  • +2

Feral Biggie Case is $67, not bad

    • Good find, cheaper than Dan's even without the 20%, might try it.

      • +1

It’s a beautiful drop, hazy af and lovely flavour, 6% too

  • +12

Definitely going to Neg this one, last one didn’t track and they refuse to investigate

    • +2

Apparently Cashrewards are doing a BWS deal on Friday. Might be better to wait.
Refusing to investigate is just not on.

      • Where'd you hear Cashrewards is doing one? I just missed out on this.

    • Weird I've never had a problem with tracking, Im up to $120 CB so far with them

    • Mine too, got email from shopback and is $0. Need to email them and wait 2 weeks and after chasing them, they said system issue so manually added the cashback.

    • Hi bargain_finder, that's incorrect to say that we haven't refused to investigate. Your claim is still in "Investigation" status. We've sent your order details off to BWS already, so once we get the info back from them on the transaction we'll be able to update you (right now it should take 30 days tops from when you submitted the claim).

      • +2

Hi gotyourback, I have had the copy and paste responses a couple of times which have a chiding tone. Gave up a number of times since the amounts did not justify the effort required..
Whether it gets resolved depends on you being persistent enough to get a resolution.
However, the last time I did follow up, I finally got the correct amount (rather than zero) because I thought "enough is enough" and I am an Ozbargainer.

      • +1

I was advised it takes upto 14 days and that i will have an update by the 27th of Aug by Harry on your team.

And now you’ve come up with 30 days.

I wonder if the next update will be 45 days

        • Thanks for the info, got the bigger picture now and that definitely deserves an update if you've been told that date. Will check with Harry on this, likely still pending a response from BWS but you should still be informed of that by 27th Aug.

    • Happened to me last time, this time I got an email about 1hr after my order was confirmed with the correct cashback amount.

  • Can we safely assume the 25% cashback items are the same as the ones currently on 10%?

    • +1

The products on 25% will be:

      • Penfolds Bin 28 Kalimna Shiraz 750ml (56024)
      • The Advocate Cabernet Sauvignon (840320)
      • Johnnie Walker Black Scotch Whisky 700ml (9067)
      • Chivas Regal Extra 700ml (796453)
      • Hi what happened with BWS now 0% ?

        • +2

We've paused them in the meantime as there will be continual tracking issues. Will only put them back once they've resolved it on their end.

  • Gift card purchases unless otherwise stated. Purchases paid by gift card is not eligible for cashback

and then further down their page under ways to pay:

Credit Cards: You can use your Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club, or American Express credit cards to pay for your order on BWS.
Wish Gift Card: If you have a Woolworths gift card, you can use that to pay for your order.
PayPal: You can also pay using your PayPal account.

Why would they have that conflicting information? if you pay with a Gift card it invalidates your cashback

  • holy crap 20 bucks to get in few months lol

  • Tranqueray Gin 700ml with the extra 20% will be $36.00 great price for this. Also Hendricks 700ml Gin will be at $54.40

  • can we pay with woolies GC and get cashback?

  • Any red wine drinkers eyeing off some drops at good prices? Looking for recommendations.

  • +6

Last deal did not track. This time no one is responding. I posted a warning about this and OP reassured me this was fixed. No BWS tracking happened before but there was an eventual response and resolution.

I strongly recommending avoiding all BWS / shopback offers going forward.

    • +3

      Hi MentalConfection,

Last deal did not track. This time no one is responding.

Understand there's been a few cases that have been submitted, however as we haven't heard back from BWS yet, we don't have any updates yet. Please hang in there, we are still chasing for them to get back to us, although their deadline is a month (from date of claim submission).

OP reassured me this was fixed

Just for clarification we didn't submit the deal ourselves last time, but we are assuming you are referring to this. Certainly there was a major issue affecting many in April (which you've alluded to being affected by), but it appeared all smooth in July and last month. We also did a bunch of transactions ourselves as tests days prior to the last promo in August and they all came through fine.

Can we also suggest some general possible options to you when you click through ShopBack to visit BWS:

      • Click through again right before you're about to checkout and pay.
      • If you're using Chrome Incognito, ensure the Block third-party cookies option is not enabled (same case if you are using another browser)
      • Disable any antivirus software you may have, as they may operate certain functions in the background that may have the same function that an adblocker browser plugin/extension would by itself
      • Purchase when BWS' site is stable and not slow, as certain things in their backend that help track the purchase may not trigger/load if the site's slow
      • Can confirm I made an order in August but I'm still waiting for a response from ShopBack (who I assume are waiting for a response from BWS).
In my case I followed all those general options except I suppose for the last by purchasing when the BWS site was "stable" however it was "stable" enough to take my order and deliver them to me the next day so..

        • Waaay back when the fit hit the shan with BWS/Shopback I eventually contacted BWS direct. Got the usual rote guff from (both Shopback and) BWS until I suggested I'd be lodging a formal complaint with the ACCC, which wasn't an idle threat - don't let the b@stards reneg on advertised offers is my motto. After 3 emails back and forth BWS eventually offered a voucher in lieu of the cashback, while refusing to acknowledge that the problem was with their system - contrary to what Shopback subsequently reported. Took effort but was worth it if only to keep them honest. Both BWS and Shopback are huge companies, quite capable of making good. Cashrewards guarantees cash back within limits and as many have said is Aussie if that's important.

  • +3

Green label at ~$55.2 after cashback, Dewars white label at ~$30.4 are good deals.

  • What's the cashback for Penfolds 2020 and Champagne?

  • is it one transaction per account?

  • My experience from last time, and YMMV, I got three tracks from the one purchase.

2 were rejected, one was paid. So I'm happy.

Guess it's time to stock up on Coopers Stouts (despite winter being pretty much over)

    • Sounds like the April offer, what happened was:

      1. Your purchase tracked initially at $0
      2. A new entry tracked through with the correct amount to rectify this
      3. Another batch was uploaded due to issues in the batch in the previous step

Then the first 2 were rejected, and last was confirmed.

  • +1

I agree. Shopback are no good at tracking.

    • Interesting, all of my ShopBacks tracked eventually. I will admit, I had a couple take a very long time.

  • I haven't had much luck with either Shopback or Cashrewards lately. My last 4 purchases with cashrewards didn't track, last 3 with Shopback didn't track.

    • Yeah, shocking with CR
I'm cashing out and never using them again
Actually reporting the claim and the emails is a pain, Shopback for me are so easy to deal with

Even then, it's risky and I'm done with cashback esp when half the time it doesn't track

    • 90% of my purchases were tracked, you need to do it fast, some website expires very soon like amazon and aliexpress.

  • Last deal did not track and poor communication, if you are waiting from the seller from 'a few' instances - why not keep the customer in the know @shopback?
Better to be on the front foot with this sort of stuff.

    $20 cap ruins it
Found some decent champagne for around $200 down from $230-280
Would of been ok if I got 40$ discount

    But $20 meh

  • Last time I spend $100 got free shiping, their cashback will deduct their shipping cost.

  • Some caching going on if you see 2% - however don't worry; if your purchase is between 4pm and 8pm AEST you will get the upsized rate (capped at $20):

    • 25% cashback on
      • Penfolds Bin 28 Kalimna Shiraz 750ml (56024)
      • The Advocate Cabernet Sauvignon (840320)
      • Johnnie Walker Black Scotch Whisky 700ml (9067)
      • Chivas Regal Extra 700ml (796453)
    • 20% cashback on everything else
    • You state 20% cashback on everything else, but can you confirm any cashback on champagne and penfolds?

      • These two would be part of the usual exclusion list I'm afraid.

  • Is this live? Shopback says BWS Voucher & Coupons for September 2020 2.00% Cashback

EDIT: Oops posted while rep was posting.

    • Page should be updated now.

  • +1

Strange, I ordered Feral Biggie juice (16) and expected to pay $67 but I got a discount of $10 without applying a coupon. Anyone else noticed it? Will it void my cashback?

    • If you didn't use a coupon, then all good for cashback. Just make sure that it was just a discount and not an auto applied coupon.

      • Is paying by gift card okay?

Edit: Just saw that it is not

        • Unfortunately that will void your cashback. Must only pay using a debit/credit card or PayPal.

          • @gotyourback: I am also seeing a $10 discount for James Squire 150 Lashes without adding any voucher code.

    • +1

I experienced the same as well, got a discount of $ 10 when buying a bottle of Maker's Mark 46 to $ 55. It's not an auto applied coupon, the coupon field was blank. I paid with Paypal.

    • +1

Same. Ordered a case of Bentspoke and got $10 off, will be a great deal if get an additional 20%, no way to delete discount so this better work out

  • Arh that's disappointing - my order (after cashback and delivery) works out to be the same price as buying from Dan Murphy on eBay.

    • Did you not know that beforehand?

      • I'm not sure I follow you. How could I know that before I found out about it?

        • dont you know all the variables beforehand ie. price of product, cashback rate, delivery charge. From that you would know the expected price and could compare against Dans on Ebay.

          • @mouseman99: Oh I see what you mean. I guess so, but there's not much point going through the cart/shipping/checkout process twice.

  • but the Shopback widget still shows 2% … definitely good for 25% now?

    ps - widget now showing 25% ;)

  • +1

    what is the exclusion list?
is this 2 part of 25% and 20%:
    Johnnie Walker

    Glenfiddich

      Exclusions

Champagne, Penfolds & Non-Alcoholic purchases (unless stated otherwise)

As for the selected SKUs for 25% cashback, see comment above with the relevant SKU IDs which can also be found in the URL. Your Johnnie Walker link is eligible for 25%.

  • Submitted my ticket into the cashback lottery :)

  • +1

Last time around shopback didn't track and refused to investigate/pay me the cashback after many back and forth emails.

Following this, I actually then followed up with a complaint to BWS customer service, who replied and said they would honour the cashback (and were significantly more pleasant to deal with).

I then forwarded this correspondence to shopback, who eventually gave me the cashback I was rightfully entitled to.

…I'm not doing that again, not worth the effort - negging the deal for this reason.

  • was a little late but seems to have worked…so far…

    • Did yours track already?

      • +1

I meant it was a bit slow in that I saw 2% cashback until about 4:03PM, so if I had ordered before this it likely would have been 2% cashback and left me unhappy

        Can see click tracking:

        01-09
        16:03
        BWS
        Clicked
Your click has been recorded and we are checking to see if you shopped at BWS. If so, you will see your Cashback within 2 days.

  • +4

BWS is deducting $10 off my $106 order but not saying why. Confusing AF and paranoid Shopback will reject it.

    • Could have been your linked Rewards Card having a stored $10 off, I had the same for my order of just over $100 and assumed it was that… or a Rewards Card offer activated a couple of weeks ago that I might have completely forgotten about.

      • Yeah i suspected that but i removed it and it was still happening.

        • I see that Liquorland were doing $10 off online orders of $100 last night, maybe BWS matched that promo.

  • FYI - I spotted a "Spend $30 and add me for free" beer which could be added to your order:

James Squire Broken Shackles Lager Bottles 345mL

    https://bws.com.au/product/88226/james-squire-broken-shackle…

Not sure if it works in all locations (this was QLD).

  • Thanks OP. Ordered carton of Coopers pale ale for $51 less cashback. For some reason l also received $10 discount on the order. Bringing the total down to $41 less cashback.

  • Multiple transactions allowed?

  • +1

Ordered some gin. Got a $10 discount at checkout like others have mentioned. I did nothing but click through the SB app and purchase.

  • Can we place multiple orders and still receive the 25% cashback?

    Received $10 discount too. Bargain

    • That's what I'm trying to find also

  • Nah not for me. May be it’s for selected items?? I added the green label though

  • Openly flawed operations touting a "perception" of getting something for almost nothing.
After years of this business plan rearing its ugly head in the weekly evidence here at this fine establishment it's no joke many here got their OZB permit fraudulently.
Their larger "reward/back" has pushed us beyond unnecessary purchasing and must be easily evidenced at our end.
Oh well, I didn't pay for anything so maybe I didn't deserve the product.

Please comment if there is a company with as many complaints.
