Which one? I'm looking at the DUO and keen to hear some independent feedback.
I do have DUO (the first one). Personally I have mixed feelings. On the beginning was in love with it as it's decent price and the quality as well look decent. However here are my few pain points:
- The bassinet and the seat are smaller compare to other prams. On some point we had to get out parts of the cushion of the bassinet to make enough place for our daughter (which is relatively small baby)
- The break not alway release the wheels and need to kick it few times (the pram has now 9 months but the issue is from day 1)
- I bought cup holders on ebay (which look similar to the one which Babybee sells) and it's impossible to fold the pram without taking them down (tried different positions)
- The balance of the fold one is weird and whenever I put it in the car is swinging
- It's a nightmare to fold it correctly as the front wheels needs to be in the correct direction so on fold they don't bump on the back wheelsThis is my first pram and haven't check any other so not sure how are they compare to BabyBee.
I got the Duo2. Still waiting for the baby so have just set it up and used it inside so far. I was mainly deciding between this and the Uppababy Vista V2. The Duo2 has two full sized seats bigger than most dual prams I could see whereas the Vista has a much smaller second seat, the basket doesn't have a bar across it like the Vista and it includes all your sun and rain covers, which you need to pay more for in the Vista.
In relation to the issues mentioned by kosmonaft, the Duo2 has bigger seats than the Duo, there's a page on the babybee website comparing the seat size to other popular prams and the Duo2 is one of the biggest with 2 seats the same size. Our brake seemed ok when we tested it so not sure if that's been changed or you got a dodgy one. I did see that you need to roll the pram back slightly to swivel the wheels forward before you fold. We played around with it folding and unfolding it and my wife found that ok once you know the trick. I'm not sure what you mean about the swinging but I did notice there's a latch you flick when you fold it to hold it together.
The biggest issue I've read about is some people mentioned it rocks a bit in dual setup when you push it. We've set it up with and without weight in the seats and pushed it the house and there's a little movement but nothing that would worry me. We compared it to a Vista in a store and the Vista actually felt like it had more movement. I'm not sure if there's QC issues and some are worse or whether it's just normal for dual prams and bothers some people more.
They have the 9 month trial period where you can use it indoors and return it if you're not happy so not much to lose trying it. If something better comes up before our baby arrives I've got the option to return it but my wife is happy with it compared to any we've seen so far.
Picked one of these up a month or so back. Seem like a really decent pram after comparing with many others in Baby Bunting etc.
