  • If this was 3d it would be pretty good

    • +1

      That's what she said

      • +3

yeh i guess she likes 3d tv

  • Huh, it's actually got a good energy rating- 7 stars. My father has the 32 inch version and it's a guzzler.

    • perhaps a different kettle of fish but i have the 40inch quattron and it's damned efficient compared to those super guzzly plasmas!

  • It is 50Hz LCD TV. Are all those small LCD TVs 50 Hz?

    • yes, 50-60hz

  • It's $298 according to the website.

Any idea what kind of panel this is? Cheap TN or higher IPS/VA panel?

  • -3

Is it $198 or $298? If my eyes not mistaken, from bigW website, it should be $298.

  • -3

    Yep $298 on website.

Postage for me when I put in my postcode was free.

    • +5

It's currently selling at $298 on the website with free shipping.

From 7 - 10 pm, the TV will go on sale for $198, where delivery charges will then apply.

  • -4

It's now more complicated. The BigW website doesn't mention that it will be $198 between 7pm - 10pm.

    • +5

Um, above the Add to Cart and the quantity section on the Big W link the OP provided:

"Online only promotion - Wednesday November 2, 7PM to 10PM AEDT. Delivery charges apply. While stocks last." in orange

      How is that complicated?

      • I think smoniruzzaman means that there is no reference to the price being $198, it seems that the TV is only available during the promo period and the price is detailed as $298.

Good deal, I'll be ordering one of these. I don't think 50hz will make much difference on a little TV.

  • I love it how the Kogan Ad is placed right next to it on this page.. :)
Kogan have also reduced their 22" with all the trimmings from $249 to $198 it seems.(They just havent changed the price on their ad banner) Not too bad, but it aint no AQUOS!

    • From what I read, the kogan also has only 2 HDMI ports, 2x3W speakers (compared to 10W on this one), and an energy rating of 6 stars (dunno if its on a different scale though).

Dont forget kogan has a hefty delivery charge, ($20.80 to my area) compared to Big W.

It's worth waiting for the Big W sale, as it's cheaper after delivery, and also bigger screen with a better brand.

  • Hi, would this be good as a computer monitor? Thanks.

    • +1

It would be okay, the refresh rate at 50hz might be a bit slow.

as a guide most monitors start at 60hz

  • -4

    is this a bargain?

  • Product page states 36 months warranty. Keep that in mind when comparing to Kogan.

  • +3

Sharp are a good company for LCD panels, as they mostly make their own; One of only Five or so companies that do.

That said, things to note for this panel:
-50Hz Native (a PC monitor runs natively at 60Hz, many current version LED/LCD run at 100Hz (not including software overdrive and other gimmicks)

-Edge Lit LED (common issues include: less-than-perfect blacks, light bleeding around the frame, non-uniform colour spread)

Otherwise, excellent power rating, USB media and 3 x HDMI for ~$200 is a decent deal for a name-brand.

Edit: According to the manual, this TV is capable of running up to 1400 x 1050 @ 60Hz (PC/MAC).

    • So, this monitor wouldn't good enough for PC? Ah… to bad. I think I'll stick with BenQ G2420HD + DVB-T tuner.

  • Does it have PVR?

    • You can check their operation manual here. As far as I can see, there is no PVR function.

    • you're asking for a lot out of $200. Already getting a big brand tv with full hd…

  • hey guys, im planning getting my mum a small sized tv, so she can stay at the room and watch movies, is this a good option if i plan to connect it to the laptop via hdmi?

    • I was thinking of buying this to connect to my laptop as well and asked the same question above. Mikinoz replied and said -It would be okay, the refresh rate at 50hz might be a bit slow. as a guide most monitors start at 60hz

    • +2

This is perfectly fine for doing that, if you look at Telios' post above:
"According to the manual, this TV is capable of running up to 1400 x 1050 @ 60Hz (PC/MAC)."

  • +1

Will sell out in 2 mins, guaranteed.

    • +1

Really? I'd be surprised as the tv is so small!

      • small ? How big is your eyes ? I have a old time 17" tv, and im still happy with it.

        • depending how far you watch TV. It could be just right size. It could be too small.

  • Full HD (1920 x 1080 ) LCD Panel.
    Edge LED Backlight system.
USB Multimedia Player (Movie, Music & Photo)
1080/24P signal input for reproducing film frames just like the theatres.
3 HDMI Terminal for simple digital connection.
D-sub 15 pin terminal for computer connection.
    Advanced OPC (Optical Picture Control).
    Inbuilt HD Digital TV Tuner.

  • hope this isn't gonna be like COTD's birthday sales…

  • Shipping has been updated now, (this morning in my cart it was showing free delivery, now $7.00. So I expect this will be the shipping cost — to Melbourne where I am at least.

  • is it wall mountable?

    • I would say yes. It has specifications on its website for with stand and without, hinting at it being wall mountable.

  • just got one xd

    • Me too. Servers were struggling for a bit, but then they seemed okay.

  • Pretty good deal! Thought I wasn't going snap one up for a minute or two, the website kept crashing and spitting out errors.. managed to get through eventually and got one!

  • I hate you Ozbargain….another $205 gone…

    • +1

you didn't HAVE to buy one.. :P

  • nice price, I wonder how much they have in stock….

    • obviously not enough…. sold out in 20 minutes… lol I love how they list it runs until 10pm.

      • agreed. I thought that a 3hour duration was a bit ambitious…

  • sold out

    • man.. sold out in 30 mins.. that was quick!

      • I thought <10mins…

  • I was about to check out 2 ,reached upto payment … had my second thouhts… and deleted it. Why throw money like this…… wait for xmas…

    • I need one 32in TV, waiting for Xmas special.

  • +1

Gone in 20 mins, this sure has been oz bargained

    • Dammit. I would have got this if I wasn't 14 hours too late.

  • Although this is a good deal you can get a 40" samsung lcd (D550 I think) for $525 if you bargain hard so better $$ per inch are available.

  • Got one for my parents-in-law, anyone know if you are able to change delivery address after the order is placed? I entered their home address during the checkout however it was still my address showing from the order confirmation. Looked at online faq, says you have to call up to cancel then re-order? Dont really want to do that!

  • SOLD OUT!

    • Bah, I bet that's Daylight saving time. which make it 10:25 now…

Damn you Anna Bligh! I want DLS!!
