    Now, what should I buy?

    • +3

I picked up this which is my favourite whisky $55 after discount and cashback is amazing!

      • +1

Just picked up a bottle of whisky too lol

  • -6

    So much text. TLDR.

    But I’ll ask a question.
Is this on top of regular % or just replaces?

    • +2

$20 bonus is over and above the advertised store cashback rates which still apply to the transaction.

    • +2

      on top of regular cashback!

      • -2

        Thank you!

Cashrewards trying to increase their 'Active' member numbers before IPO.

    • I don't know why you were negged, you are correct. They did a pre-IPO raise to fund increased mainstream marketing - it literally said that in the paperwork

    • -1

IPO is based on registered users not active

They spout they have XXX registered users who have earned $XXXXX in cashback.

Active or not, registered is what matters for the IPO

      • +1

I agree, but doesn't hurt to be able to push Active numbers. Twitter, FB etc talk about users but Investors often delve into how many actually use it.

      • +11

Exactly. Can remember eBay Australia saying they have 30 million users. Awesome news for investors. Must be totally legitimate… until they notice the population of Oz

        • Hahaha thats gold!

        • Did they include people from overseas using 'via eBay Aus' on other eBay sites or something?

  • +1

Sorry, you're not eligible for this offer. :'-(

  • +3

Not eligible, fine, no needs to think of what to buy

  • +1

No dice here. How do you become targeted for these sort of offers? Not use CR for yonks?

    • +2

pretty much. Alternatively, create multiple accounts and use some sparingly, a-la flybuys

  • Omg, i got one. What to buy now?

  • Wow, got the email for my account. Never got these targeted offers until now!

  • +10

Are you even are a real Ozbargainer if you received this email??

    • -1

See starbearer's comment above. Are you a real Ozbargainer if you didn't?

    • Ekk I can't form sentences- turns out I did get this and real ones should have more than 1 CR account. I found one never been used before!

  • +1

    i tried. i failed.

Sorry, you're not eligible for this offer.

  • No love for me…

  • I would suspect one of two categories of customers got this

    1) Regsitered accounts without having done a CB in a long time
    or
    2) Users who are High Value

    • 1) here, normally just use SB,so I think CB is trying to get some customer back :D

      Free $20, Will take it.

    • I’m category 1 and received it.
I’m not much of a consumer so didn’t use Cashrewards that often, but since they reduced the available categories on amazon I never use it anymore.

    • I’m middle category :(

    • Don't think I fall under any of those categories.
Used CR only recently back in July 2020 and my lifetime reward figure is only $270.

      • Lol only? I've had cashrewards for years and I've only gotten like $80 cashback total tops

Guess I just don't spend enough

    • What’s your guess at high value?

  • Last time received similar email and activated the offer and spent the money, but got declined. I made sure to spend on eligible item but still failed to get cashback. So decided to not try this time.

  • My wife got this offer and I haven't.

Can I use her cash rewards account and shop in my Amazon account ( as only I have prime membership).

Please let me know if anyone has idea on this.

    • +4

Yep, it works. CR isn’t tied to your Prime account so just make sure you click through from your wife’s CR account.
      Source: done it before.

      • +1

        Thank you !!!

      • I did something similar before but the sale was tracked to my CR account, not the other CR account I clicked from. Maybe it is because my Amazon account and CR account had the same email address.

        • Not sure what happened in your case but mine was fine.
I use the same email for my CR and Amazon too.
So I logged in Amazon using my acc, and CR using my mrs's, clicked through to Amazon and it tracked fine on mrs's CR account.
Not sure if it changes anything but I always close all browsers and start afresh before opening cashback sites.

          • @zonra: I even went as far as using another browser than my usual one to make that transaction but still it did not track on the CR account I clicked from. Not sure what went wrong there.

    • My several purchases’ cash back has been declined. I realised that I was using different emails /account on cr and amazon account . Not sure if it was the case for the decline

  • More exclusions than you can poke a stick at!

  • How long does it usually take for it to track a purchase from AliExpress?

    • +1

the usual 48 hours. Sometimes if its close to the weekend (or the weekend) it wont track till monday/tuesday.

      • +1

Ahh I see because I ordered something yesterday and was afraid it didn't track

As you replied I got the notification saying it's been tracked so that's all good now.

  • Time to try a new gin!

  • Thanks. I dont use cashrewards much so I had this offer waiting :) Used it on a memory card for my gamecube that cost $20.58, so at the end of the day I got it for 58cents.

  • Got the offer, havnt used CR for 6+ months.

Checked amazon listing, nothing really to buy. Any ideas how to blow $20 on something useful.

    • +2

      Alcohol

      • +1

Actually found something on Aliexpress, outdoor cases for Wyze / Xiaofang cameras.

$23 total for 2 camera housings, hopefully its tracked get $20 back from CR.

Time to get cracking on some DYI security cams.

Non of my Amazon purchase has been successfully. May be things I buy is in electronics and from delivered by Amazon us. Not sure about this.

    • +1

      LEGO

      • +1

Not sure who downvoted u, I cancelled it out. I'm thinking Lego too actually, some of them is just over $20

        • I upvoted @sween64 as Lego is exactly what I have in mind.

  • Got me excited seeing the "Activate Now" button……

……then……Sorry, you're not eligible for this offer.

If user has already signed in, why can't the page automatically check eligibility?

From January to August I hadn't used cashrewards, only shopback. Unfortunately I decided to use cashrewards for a BWS purchase earlier in the week, so nothing for me. Oh well, back to shopback for my purchases

  • -1

Reminder to self: don't get on those terrible $2 for $50 spend deals and wait for these instead.

    • +1

Yes it sucks- likes of me were probably excluded because we used cashback recently in firstchoice deal, shopback it is from now on-if they want it this way.

  • Excited to get the email… Ineligible… WTF?! :'(((((

    • Due to an old account I didn't know I had (rookie mistake)… So I'll amend my WTF to a TY - Thank you :)

    • +2

It's a targeted offer. Not really a valid reason to neg.

    • You should not neg for that reason. There is a 'targeted' label on the post.

  • Is says "…then shop as normal via any* ONLINE or IN-STORE merchant on Cashrewards, excluding Woolworths Gift Cards."

Is this for any store/tier on CR that doesn't have 0% cashback? as there is no further info on the *

  • Thanks for posting. I didn't have it, but the GF who never checks her advertising emails has it. Also discovered a $10 off $10 spend Amazon offer for her. Happy days!

  • Does this work if you add multiple items to amazon cart?
I’m trying to reach $49 for international post

  • Sorry, you're not eligible for this offer.

  • used an account I opened but never used from years ago, and still not eligible :(

    • +4

Have you looked at yourself in the mirror recently? Accusing someone of being a racist just because you are salty about not being targeted for a $20 promotion is really low.

    • +1

Lots of companies run targeted offers. Shopback has run them previously as well, just that perhaps they haven’t posted here. To me, any cashback at all is already a bonus.

    • +1

      Really, on what basis?
Common that's a low blow. Look at the people who work for Cashrewards on LinkedIn. You will get your answer.
From what I can see diversity seems to be an important aspect of this organisation.

    • +3

CR is anything but racist. They don’t go search on their database for surnames they like and give them perks. I hope you don’t pull this racist crap in real life every time things don’t go your way as that is just pathetic

  • Bought hayfever eyedrops and cotton buds from chemist warehouse.

  • For those eligible, did you get the $20 bonus right after a purchase?

    • +7

OP clearly states it will be credited by 31/10/20….

      • Right, thanks mate!

      • +1

Granted you will be credited by 31/10
Wanting to know if we receive any notification stating your purchase has qualified for the $20 or something to that effect
        Thanks

        • would also like to know this!

        • +1

I received notification that my order was tracked for the regular cashback but got nothing for the $20

          • @Guybrush Threepwood: Thanks for that
So it’s a bit of a gamble then?
Come November many of us may actually forget about this promo, and may not chase up the $20

Would not be the first time my cash reward/ ShopBack was missed

            • +1

@docians: Set a reminder on this deal for the 31st of October

              • @kerfuffle: Too late to make a second purchase to trigger the $20, if for whatever reason (internet glitch) the first purchase failed to trigger it

                • @docians: Well, if you received the tracking notification, then you have nothing to worry about. If it didn't, I'm sure CR customer service would be able to resolve the lack of tracking and then the lack of receiving the $20.

  • Ah well I'm off to camp shopback until they release a similar offer I'm not targeted for lol.
    Really should have multiple accounts.

  • CR are doing this to put in their prospectus: We have X number of users/customers and a high proportion have used it in the last Y months… most likely not mentioning that they are paying the less frequent users with generous incentives so they can present more attractive usage rates.

  • No email but offer activated in my account.

  • Ignore, I'm a fool

  • Amazon is showing 'up to 8% cashback' and electronics 0 cashback.

If I purchase electronics items from Amazon will that be a transaction eligible for this $20 cashback?

    • $20 bonus is ineligible when purchasing from any store or tier showing 0% cashback.
