1.5 energy star rating isn't doing it any favours either.

    Liebherr? Any deals on excavators?

  • What are the genuine benefits over its competitors below?

    SRL334NMB Samsung 336L Bottom Mount Refrigerator ($999)
GB-310RPL LG 310L Steel Bottom Mount Fridge ($898.00) <- Awesome rated fridge btw

      That's a totally different product.

These are freezer only and fridge only units. They are integrated into your cupboards.

Anything integrated will not be cheap. It's for fancy houses. I've only seen them in one home, and it sold at auction for $2.4m (prob be worth $4m+ in Sydney or Melbourne)

      • Thanks, that clears up my confusion!

      • Stupid question, can't I just attach my cupboard door to a slightly more shallow fridge same height fridge in the existing space, to get the same effect?

        • I would imagine the hinge and front door on these is especially thin otherwise it wouldn't open right. Probably explains the low star rating.

I suppose if you fashion the cupboard and door to be wider than the fridge, so it extends out on the hinge side, you could. You'd also have to trim the cupboard door down to a point else it couldn't fold back.. Wouldn't be very durable.

But I don't know. I own a regular fridge. I won't want to own an integrated until a kitchen reno in maybe 8-10 years time

  • With Australian warranty guaranteed that’s so good over life expectancy of a fridge , A fridge and freezer for $900 eg. LG would do the job . It’s just a fridge .

  • These are fantastic fridges/freezers and are well worth the premium price paid over Chinese-maid 'brand-name' equivalents. They are beautifully built and are actually serviceable (external condenser) when the need arises. We don't expect them to become part of the land-fill during our life-time. That was a factor we made during our pre-purchase investigations and deliberations.

We only purchased ours last December in the Xmas/New Year sales so we were able to get them for a decent price, made even more attractive by a manufacturer's mail-in rebate.

These Liebherr fridge & freeze units replaced our Fisher & Paykel units purchased in 1987. The F&Ps were replaced finally after removalists had found new and creative ways to damage them in transit during a house move, and not for the first time either.

Disclaimer. Not connected to Liebherr or any of their agents. Just comments by a legitimate consumer.

    • I was wondering about the Chinese Maid? Do you need one to clean the fridge?

  • Completely unrelated rant - don't buy a Westinghouse/Electrolux fridge - had to have mine serviced twice in the 2.5 years I've owned it (since new).
