Bowden's Own Big Green Sucker Microfibre Towel $25.99 (Was $39.99) @ Repco

280

Super absorbent microfibre towel that literally sucks water into its fibres, so you can dry in half the time.
Ultra soft and thick fibres minimise any chance of dirt or grit micro-scratching your paint when drying.
Bright green colour, to easily see dirt in the cloth, and not wipe it back into your paint.
Nice big 40 x 70cm in size
Holds 2 and half litres of water in its fibres, that's some serious sucking.
Machine washable and loves machine drying

  • I’m waiting on graphene coating to be sold retail in this country

  • I find it unnecessarily heavy… a bit difficult to wash the cloth afterwards.

Washing machine then dryer and it's like it was brand new again

      • Yeah totally understand but usually don't use it for just a few towels.

        • I use I think 5 or 6 when I'm cleaning a car and have the washing machine on auto, it's heavy enough to detect it and it's a really quick wash. Not your fully typical type

    • Washing machine is the best way.

Also, it's best to avoid using standard detergent/fabric softeners as they can ruin the absorbancy.

Bowden's Own sell a Microfibre Wash for this purpose which lasts for ages.

      • Do you know of any cheap standard washing detergent which would be ok?

        • Just use the cheapest basic liquid detergent you can find. I use Coles one. You don’t want anything with any softeners or anything in it and definitely not powder as it will get stuck in the fibres.

          • @iShibby: Yes, also you should avoid bleach, but a lot of the brands say whiten whites - which means bleach is included?
Also avoid scented, but almost all of them are.
And to make it difficult they don't state the ingredients on the packaging.

I've invested in some decent microfibre cloths and don't want to ruin them. But I'm struggling to find an affordable wash detergent that ticks all the boxes. May have to fork out for the Bowden's microfibre wash to be safe. Appreciate anyone's advice.

  • Half price or bust. Supercheap once a year sale.

  • i heard this sucks big time.

  • Those are meant for interior….you use shams for exterior and paper towels for the windows….

    • Wow you must be a boomer. Shams are dead and paper towels are only done by old school folk

      • Not even 60…or getting there anytime soon….

If shams are dead, how come they work better absorbing water, hmmmm? Explain that….. Paper towels are still just as effective….some people still use it….

        • No chamois will absorb the water this does Zachary. I use both. The advantage of chamois' is that they're still very absorbant after you ring them out. Once the BGS gets saturated it's only good for removing sheet water even after wringing out. Wouldn't put paper towel anywhere near my car personally.

            Why not?

        • Then you're trained in the old outdated ways young grasshopper. This works to levels that you don't actually believe until you use it that out all shams to sham both natural and synthetic. Paper towels arnt great eithrb because they might clean the glass well but they leave behind lint. I glass cloth is more effective without the annoying particulates paper leaves behind
