Yeah I'm hanging out for $1500 too (or $1000 for the X34p). Just thought if anyone has been waiting and doesn't have the patience, this is the best price since 9 months.
COVID has ruined my plans for a ultrawide….
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/498068 Acer X34P was $847.20 November last year!!!!! $1299 now at most stores…..
Megabuy has refurbished X34p for $849.00 + Delivery right now.. Never bought from them before though so not sure what a refurb would be like.

Nah for that much go new. Refurb not worth it unless you're going to sell the monitor again within <2 years.
Sounds like you and me are in the same boat.
Overclocking a monitor, incredible.
I was contemplating the LG or AW, went with AW in the last deal due to it having an actual GSYNC module as opposed to just being compatible. If you have a low to mid tier GPU from what I gather it is worth to have the module if your GPU dips to lower frames every now and then.
Of course if you have something like a 2080 it won't matter.
Or if you're playing Microsoft flight simulator.
Too bad it ain't 144Hz.
you wouldn't be able to tell the difference
24
Literally nobody can tell the difference.
very few people have the hardware to even get games to that high without a significant decrease in graphic quality too.
I got this monitor and i still play at 60hz lol
Is the shopback 3 or 6%?
shopback doesn't stack
3440 X 1440
Gimme 1600 minimum! For work purposes, gotta love veetical res.
You will not get that with 34 inch ultra wide monitors. Try a 32 inch 4k monitor that is not ultra wide. Also for work this is an overkill anyway, why pay for 120 hertz when you can buy with ~ 600 one that is just 60?
Price wise it's on par to the 38" due to the discounts.
I have a 4k 43" at home. But I would consider replacing it with something a bit smaller. 43", due to lack of a curve, isn't as productive as I had originally thought it would be (too awkward). At the time of purchase I was looking for smaller 4k, which didn't exist without going WAY smaller
Seriously… Come on LG. Give us a 38 inch CX OLED and we can all die happy. Except for the rest of the monitor industry. They'll just be…. "Why didn't we think of this earlier 😭."
Looking for exactly the same monitor, around 38 prefferably curved 4k, so more vertical space for work. Have not found anything suitable yet.
It may not be big enought, Dell S3221QS is a curved 4K monitor closest.
38" Dell.
I just posted a deal that might suit your requirement.
Cashrewards are doing 12% on alienware in dell.com.au - although I'm not sure it can be used with this offer due to discount code. Worth a try if you are pulling the trigger on it
Doesn't stack. ended up buying it anyway.
Even at this price I'd want HDR. If this had HDR10 I'd bite.
I'll probably wait for the G9 to go sub-$2k.
If this had HDR, it would be useless HDR400 and would most likely look worse with it on.
Even the G9's HDR is crap, only worthwhile ones at the moment are the PG27UQ and the PG35VQ
Can you elaborate on why the G9's HDR is crap?
Only 16 zones for local dimming. HDR requires a range of luminance in order to look good. With only 16 zones what happens is if you look at a lamp in a dark area, the screen brightens to show that lamp at 1000 nits and that entire zone around it, even if areas of that zone are completely dark. What you end up with is a washed out image, with dark areas that are bright when they shouldn't be. Essentially what you're monitor without hdr would look like now if you cranked it to 1000 nits.
The PG35VQ has 512 zones which allows it to dim the parts that need to be dark and brighten the parts that need to be bright much better, but even that's not perfect and you'll get what's known as 'Haloing' around small bright objects against a dark background like subtitles etc. Only perfect solution at the moment is OLED that can dim individual pixels.
Hope that gives you the info you're looking for
@cille745: Very interesting.
Thanks for explaining!
the LG leaves this thing for dead
Pulled the trigger on this, couldn't find stock for the LG.
Dell Warranty > LG Warranty.
LG 144mhz > Dell 120mhz (24mhz but supposedly can't dell difference).
Dell has proper Gsync
LG Has HDR400
Not really, as the guy above posted the Dell has it's plus points.
I found some other reviews comparing the two and Dell was the winner for single player games, for competitive FPS the LG would come out on top. This is due to how consistent you can keep your FPS up.
damn missed out on this deal
Why would you pay this much for an IPS when you can get a VA qdot for only slightly more?
cuz VA is crap.
nah i've tried VA qdot myself. Also, ask anyone else and they'll say it's better
Can anyone please send me their order number? I just checked with Dell, it looks like they can do price match on existing orders.
Cheers
pls let me know also!
Still waiting for the good person now…
Please let me know too! will up points!
@linkumpoot: Hi there, we are a corporate customer, probably it is why they can do price match for us, and I am not sure if DELL can do price match for residential customer.
@Herre: How did you guys go?
Any Luck?
PM me, happy to help
Thank you so much mate! You are truly amazing!
Good Price, puts it in a similar price to to the LG 34GN850 (No Stock that I can find though).
The LG has 144Hz (160Hz OC) compared to this 120Hz.
I think this has to go below $1500 to be a buy for me. There's stock and Dell warranty which is great.
