No PayPal, too risky for the amount if anything goes wrong.

AliExpress has an amazing refund policy, i've used them for a decade, got my money back heaps of times!

      • +1

how long did it take to get your refund?

        • +16

@tjioer don't believe him, if you try and get a refund they refuse, they only honour refunds for accounts on a high tier so if you are a new account you are stuffed and left without a refund, happened to me on a $40 item

          • +3

@jayboi: happened to me on an $80 item, they were terrible about it and sided with the seller, just fwiw.

          • @jayboi: That's not true. My new-ish account got the refund quite quickly.

        • +6

Never had a problem getting refunds with Aliexpress. usually processes in a week.
All depends on their item listing (they keep a record of this for mediation purposes) and how you support your request during mediation, basically, don't be a rude self-entitled idiot.

Depends on the seller you're buying from as well. gotta get things from the legit sellers not just because sellers have the same thing for cheap. I had a few instances where sellers were kicking up a stink saying im lying or that I've changed my mind because I'm not happy and how it is not reasonable.

        • +2

          @tjioer I had purchased a drone.

When it didn't arrive, the seller said they're out of stock. Seller asked me to mark it as return item so as to not get impacted by AliExpress rules while insisting that I'll get my refund.

After going through the return process, the seller stopped responding. Saying that a dispute has been raised and they have to wait for that to finish.

I kept on contacting the AliExpress Customer support. Here's my experience:

          • Quite difficult to find a live contact for AliExpress. They have some AI Support and that defaults to "no issue, you just need to return the item".

          • Each case representative I was able to reach said that seller shouldn't have done that. They'll take care of it immediately and then… nothing.

          • AliExpress has strict respond periods. You don't get any notification. So if you don't respond within those times, your dispute is automatically closed and you lose the refund.

          • AliExpress still sided with the seller at the end. Saying that I was to return the item so no refund. Even after showing all of the conversation screenshots between the seller, myself and the customer support reps that I never got the item in the first place.

          • Finally ended up contacting my bank, giving them the evidence and they refunded the money. Not sure what happened on AliExpress' side.

They have the worst you mean? whenever I receive a damaged product, they refuse to refund me even after evidence

        • +4

I have had no issues with AliExpress either. Have bought fair bit from them lately and have dealt with one bad seller that marked as something as shipped but never was and got refunded by AliExpress. One word of advice is never give into a seller's demands, e.g. if they increase price or offer a refund via PayPal, you say no to that and choose the dispute option that actually suits the situation. Also if you choose a seller with feedback in the high 90% rating they're pretty safe.
Shipping is quite slow at the moment, taking about 3 months for stuff to arrive with standard shipping.

        • +2

They are the worst if you're at the most basic membership level. Once you spend more and level up they're far more reasonable.

          • @Clear: yes exactly that is what I was trying to imply on the above comment

            • +1

@jayboi: Woops missed that comment. It's unethical but their reasoning is because of all the new accounts that pop up with stolen credit cards and so forth. You can see it from both sides.

As a counter point to the below, I've generally had a positive experience, the bulk of my purchases are low value items (sub $20)

On 'lost' items i've been able to get them refunded within 2 weeks (one of them was on the highest value item i've bought on Aliexpress), there's the usual 'let the seller respond' time

This is dealing with Aliexperss themselves, not the sellers (many willl try and get you to not got to Aliexpress), but of course YMMV

      • That's not a great vote of confidence that you'll get what you pay for.

@tjioer, Here Bangoods app has one for $55 delivered which is $7 extra from this US price translated to AU pricing. and bangood has PayPal which is great

    • I had no issues with them on refunds when it was needed.

    • Been usgint them for more than 4years now … always get a refund automatically by system (without involving seller or agent) if item not arrived or damaged etc … One time i didn't like a $100 DashCam and they gave me option to return locally in sydney.

  • Shows up as $51 for me, with the coupon. What am I doing wrong?

    • The price in the title is US dollars.

    • maybe AUD $51 vs USD $35 as per the title?

edit: if you are wondering why its not $48.64 instead, its probably calculated with google's exchange rates vs aliexpress / stacking with other $1 coupons out there

      • +2

You're right. I've used Google's exchange rate to convert to AU$. I don't think any Ozbargainer would be using AliExpress conversion rates.

I got to $49AUD very tricky clicking all the coupon available

  • Thanks a lot OP, $49.45 delivered (with glacial pace aliexpress shipping). Had my eyes on this unit for a while

  • How is Aliexpress for delivery in current covid situation - any hope to get it before Christmas?

    • Very depends on the seller location.

I got some in 1 month but Banggood charger still waiting (already 1 month), Geekbuying xiaomi light disappeared.

    • +1

aliexpress doesn't send anything. they are a platform for sellers. depends on where the sellers are.

received things from Singapore sellers in less than a week to melb and have instances where I've waited for longer than 2 months after requesting sellers to extend purchase protection time.

A few of us received our Baseus charger within 8 days of ordering. That's not typical though!

  • +1

I’ve been waiting 5 weeks for mine from Banggood and from tracking info doesn’t even look like it’s in aus yet

    • +2

I've personally given up on ordering off Banggood, the last 3 orders I placed never showed up due to stock levels. My experience at least.

    • I contacted chat and they said security issue posting to Australia and it was sent back to them. I asked for a refund

  • Does anyone know if you can buy that stand separately, I have a Blitzwolf like this but it didn't come with a stand.

    Cheers

  • Came down to 50.48 AUD, paid in USD. Thanks Op.

  • What type of coupons are available for the person who gets referred?? Anything decent or are they for specific products and conditions?

  • Any suggestions on what the best equivelant of the Apple 96W USB-C Power Adapter would be for one of these?

  • What does this normally cost?

  • I bought this last deal. It took around 5 weeks to arrive

  • +1

I still haven't received mine from the last deal….. although thats from banggood

  • How does this compare to the previous deal for the Satechi Type-C 75W Travel Charger? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/561029

  • Would this be suitable/decent for Surface Pro 7?

  • +1

Don't buy it from here supposed to be blitzwolf store purchased $45 charger from exact store, fake tracking number supplied, seller kept making excuses, never sent after 60 days had to open dispute to get refund. On top of that it was supposed to be shipped from Australia but was sent from China.

    This was 2 months ago

  • How is this compare to https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/561029
    Satechi??

    • Well this has more ports, the same outport rating (75w in total for both). So this is pretty much the Satechi but better, cheaper and from China.

  • If you buy it now, be prepared to receive it by Christmas next year !

  • AU plug is a nice touch, saves getting one from officeworks.

  • What is the benefit of this over the GaN charger form the same brand?

  • will it work with macbook pro 2020 model? only mentions about macbook air

  • I have the Blitzwolf version from previous deal and the charger itself looks good. Charges the X1 Carbon at 60W.

  • Thanks I've ordered one, came to $48.94 AUD after conversion. I've already got a Satechi 75w Dual Type-C PD travel charger, but this one suits my niche needs more conveniently. I can now charge my Macbook Air, Nintendo Switch, 2 phones and 2 Pokemon Gotchas (when travel is a thing again). The Satechi came in clutch for last year's Pax pilgrimmage, but the 2 extra USB ports on the BlitzWolf eliminates the need for port micro management.

  • Which $2 select coupon works for this?

    • I believe select coupons will only show up when you have sufficient coins. The $2 is for an exchange of 20 coins.

      • I have more than enough coins and already exchanged 20 coins for the coupon but I can't use it on this order.

  • Anyone received theirs yet? Just logged on to Aliexpress and mine says delivery failed dated 23/9. Does anyone know the process here, does it go back to China then retried?
