Slightly more expensive than last time it was posted in May. Mine took 38 days to be delivered, so not bad for standard free shipping and the current shipping delays

    Off topic:

Anyone has any experience with the Baseus chargers for USB-C laptop charging:
    65w
    100w

    Thanks

    • no, but im keen to get a spare for my xp13 too. which laptop do you have?>

      • Got the recent Lenovo E14 - needs 65w

    • +1

      65w

It's on sale at the moment, $27.71+gst after the $1.42 coupon here. I haven't tried it myself, but the teardown looks good. Pity about the US plug.

    • I am using Baseus 100w Type-C 1M cable with another brand 65w power adapter for my HP laptop and mobile together. superb

      • Are you getting the full 65w?

        • yes, I'm getting full 65w

    • +5

I got the 65W version (US plug) last week, and it charges my Dell XPS 13 (9300) OK.

However there is review saying that it can get very hot (>60C, due to its DC-DC design?), and its sale has been mostly suspended in China because of that.

I ordered it before I saw the review. It seems OK when I used it to charge my laptop (~15mins), but XPS 13 only pulls 45W max.

      • Thanks for the feedback. Might do a bit more research on the overheating bit.

      • Is the 120W version free from the overheating issue?

        • +2

It can get hot as well. It is within specs, but I won't be confortable to push it to the limit myself.
There is an review here. (You don't have to read Chinese, just look at the IR photos.)
          TLDR version:
          1. 65C after 30 mins charging 2 laptops (Macbook Pro13 and MateBook13)
          2. >70C after 1 hour at 120W.

          • +1

@QuarkfiS: I still bought the 65W version, amazing value for ~30 AUD shipped (plus 3 ports). It would be great for travelling.

          • @QuarkfiS: So would you recommend paying extra for the 100W instead of the 60W? Is charging speed the only difference?

      • +3

It is not suspended in China, you can easily buy one from multiple stores on Taobao.

I have a 65w one charging my Dell laptop and phone at the same time.
        It is perfectly fine.
It is warm, but definitely not hot.

    • The 100W one says 120W on Aliexpress

      • +1

Apologies. It is indeed 120w but able to supply up to a maximum of 100w through one USB-C PD or a maximum of 60w each if charging through USB-C PDs at the same time.

        • My future laptop (T480) needs 20V at 2.25A. Would this charger be able to supply power and charge it?

    • +1

got 65w, pretty good little beast. Have been using it for last 3 months, no issues. I wish they had AU plug tho.

    • +1

Haven't tried yet but took a chance and bought the 65W Charger & a 2M 100W Cable. Will be using to charge a Lenovo E15 ,hopefully it all arrives before Xmas.

      • +2

        Can't believe it received today the 65W Charger & a 2M 100W Cable .
The fastest delivery ever from AliExpress , ordered 11/08/2020 received today 19/08/2020 using free post.

        • +1

Great to hear they have given out 2M 100W cable, I will receive it this week hopefully.

          • @UncommonName: Yes I hope you do , just check your Tracking.

            • @chrisie: It's stuck in Granville for the past 2 days. How is the performance and heat issues?

              • @UncommonName: Haven't had time to give it a good test yet, all I have done is charge my phone to see if it worked which charge real quick . Will let you know.

              • +1

@UncommonName: I can say I'm real happy with the Baseus 65W Charger. Charges my Lenovo E15 with ease , heat does not seem to be a problem as it get hot but not overly hot.
Seems to do a great job for its size and portability .

                • @chrisie: Great to know, my one is at the local post office. If it charges Lenovo E15 properly, then it would charge Thinkpad T480 as well? What is the charging spec for your laptop?

                  • @UncommonName: The Lenovo E15 Gen 2 comes with a 45Wh Battery . I am also using a Baseus 2M PD Type-C to Type-C 100W Cable to help with any voltage drop I bought with the charger.

        • +1

I received mine today as well. Really quick!

          • @eug: I still can't believe how quickly it arrived .

          • @eug: Are you happy with it ?

            • @chrisie: I've only used it once so far, works fine for me. I twisted the prongs to fit our sockets. I love how compact it is.

              • @eug: I was thinking of twisting the prongs but at this stage I'm using it with a power board which takes the US Plug. I cannot believe how quickly it charges my phone. It would be one of the best chargers I have purchased taking into account the size and power output.

    • No Au plug though…?

      • There's a Xiaomi ZMI 65w option from Amazon with AU plug. However, it is more expensive at $49.99.

        • I've got one of these off a previous OzB deal, it works excellently and comes with a decently long 5A cable also. Was about $45 or so when i got it though.

Might pick up another 2m 100W cable from this deal as well.

        • There's a Xiaomi ZMI 65w(amazon.com.au) option from Amazon with AU plug. However, it is more expensive at $49.99.

Also, the selling point of the Baseus 65W one is that it's a GaN charger which makes it more compact than a regular charger like that ZMI.

  • https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/lillhult-usb-type-c-to-usb-cord… - Ikea have 40cm usb cables for $1.50 at the moment if there is one close by…

    • And 1.5m cables for $3.50

    • +3

Ikea website didn’t mention about whether they are PD rated and the max current supported

So for mobile phone charging it should be ok, but not suggested to use it to charge like laptop or MacBook

This baseus support up to 100w which is ideal for laptop charging that use PD

      • Power output: 2A.

      • +1

Linked Ikea cables are A to C. That can't deliver anywhere near the same power as a C to C cable like the OP.

  • does anybody know where i could get a 3 or 4 LIGHTNING only usb cable - so from usb to 3 or 4 lightning only connectors

no micro / usb c etc NOT needed

  • These USB C cables are optimized for charging, but transmission rate maxes out at 480Mbs (USB 2.0)

  • -2

Things that cost next to nothing on some e-commerce sites like this one, you're basically paying them with your personal data.

    • +1

You are literally paying dollars for these crappy cheap mass produced cables that are upsold here in retail stores many times over under different brands.

Honestly who cares? You actually believe if you were to buy this cable from some ecommerce site for $1 or a $180,000 Mercedes down the street would be any different in terms of how your data is used?

If you don't want your data used you don't shop online, have an online presence, and certainly turn off your wifi and Bluetooth when you go outside. Shopping centres and authorities can and do track you using your phone's signatures.

  • Should you pick 'seller:s shipping method' or Cainiao shipping?

    • The seller's shipping method would be as bad as Cainiao

    • Not sure, I checked my last order and default shipping was Cainiao, I received the order after 38 days. Cainiao has 30-50 day estimate, so 30/09 deadline compared to 16/10 for seller's shipping method, so could be quicker.

      • You're probably one of the lucky ones. I'm still waiting on 4 orders, 1 of them posted in early May, 1 in late May both via Aliexpress Standard Shipping. The other 2 orders posted in early July via China Post Registered Airmail.

        • +1

My 3 orders from May and one from June 13 have all arrived. 4 out of 5 from late March to April have also arrived albiet a bit late, the missing item was refunded. Late June and July orders yet to arrive.

        • That’s why you order via DHL or EMS.

Well that’s what I use on DHgate

      • +1

Thanks chose Cainiao. Got it for $0.01(+$0.40 tax) using some new user coupon they automatically applied!

        • edit: my order was canclelled due to "account security concerns". Does someone know how to get around that?

          • +1

@Ag07: That usually happens when you use the new user coupon with a credit card linked to another account. Have you got another AliExpress account?

You could try purchasing via the App as that sometimes lets you use the new user coupon 2 or 3 times before it detects the same credit card.

Or if you have another credit card try that, if that fails remove the new user coupon and the purchase should go through.

      • I'm still waiting for my order from May…

        • +2

          that's about par for ali.
order, forget you ever ordered, one day get a surprise package!

  • Are any of these HDMI?

    • None of the cables in the OP are HDMI.

  • +1

I bought the whole 65 watt charger with cable…

  • Hey op do you have any DHgate coupons codes like $14 or $10 like last deal you posted. Cheers!

    • According to chollometro these coupons will be valid from 17/08. DHGate 16th Anniversary Sale more info here

      • +1

thanks the US $15 is even better :P

        • Are DHGate pricing same or better than Ali Express also how about their speed of shipping ?

          • @chrisie: using Epacket shipping during the pandemic it took around just over a month to arrive( last year it was under 2 weeks) also depending on where the seller is located in china. I bought a pair of high quality replica yeezys from a seller and paid $35 for DHL shipping back in April, which took about 2 weeks.

I currently have an order for soccer shorts in Guangzhou waiting for international deparature.

  • Slightly off topic, does anyone have experience with magnetic fast charging cables (as in the ones with the interchange USB tips)? I can't tell if they support fast charging speeds?

  • Mine got delivered after 120 days. I ordered one from a similar from the OP.
