    Nice, thanks OP.

  • Bought my wired G502 at the end of last year - and I'm so far really happy with it.

Debating on whether or not to cop a wireless version though…

    • +2

      Worth! It's lighter too.
This is also a great price.

      • Damn, shouldn't have second-guessed… Oh, well.

Currently daily driving this mouse on a PowerPlay mat and the convenience is unrivalled, but keep in mind that this mouse is still susceptible to the widely reported "double clicking" issue which happens with a lot of Logitech mice where the switches for the left/right click buttons start to fail (i.e. whilst pressed down it thinks I had let go of the button and pressed it down again). I owned mine for about half a year before it started happening and I'm currently going through the warranty process.

    • Is there anything that's known to cause this?

      • +2

Consensus just seems to be that Logitech uses bad quality switches, and replacing them yourself with better switches (e.g. from Kailh) solves the issue.

        • +1

Ahh.. Whelp, luckily mine hasn't started to have that issue yet.

What is the warranty process like? I've read good things about Logitech warranty in the past - but haven't had to deal with them first-hand.

          • @jjsu: They’ve been nice but a bit slow, just waiting on replacements to come back in stock at the moment and the ETA keeps being pushed back :/

            • @konakona: I'm currently having some issues with the G703 at the moment.

Do they ask you to send the original back to them? I don't want to have to pay for shipping back to them.

              • @Sad Dino: I haven't reached that stage yet, but from what I've read they usually ask you to show proof of you destroying the original item before they ship out a replacement.

      • I've had this issue, I think its something to do with the build up static charge. I just tend to unplug it and click right and left really quickly for about a minute or two and the it goes back to normal. Really annoying though.

    • I have this on my corsair wireless mouse, i was planning to try get a warranty claim on it soon as this issue is getting quite unbearable. I owned mine for about half a year before it started doing it too

    • I'm on my 4th G502 currently. First one lasted six months, second one lasted two, third one lasted 2 days, this one lasted about a month. Currently waiting for Logitech to send me a fifth new one since I can't go into JB Hifi and get it exchanged during covid stage 4.
Absolutely outstanding mouse though, I have a PowerPlay mat too and together they're worth the stuffing around trying to get one that will work. Best mouse I've ever owned despite the issues. When the new one gets here I mgiht look into swapping out the switches in this one.

      • @roseyhead

two days is absolutely terrible. My current replacement (but a G903) lasted 3 months and I thought that was bad.

FYI, if anyone was ever curious.

    • From what I heard, all modern Logitech G mice will have the extra double-clicking issues. In my case, I also lost the ability to hold down Mouse 1 (no drag/drop, no highlighting text, etc). The switches used are unbranded Chinese ones. Other upper tier gaming mice would usually use something like Made in Japan Omron switches.

You can google things things like "G903 double clicking", "G Pro Wireless double clicking". This is not an uncommon issue across the Logitech mouse range.

With regards to the warranty process:
      - pre-covid it took me about under two weeks from reporting the issue to mouse being dispatched.
      - they will get you to run through a pretty extensive troubleshooting process, hence the back and forth discussions for a week or two
      - now : my current return was reported mid July. I have only just been 'conditionally approved' for a warranty replacement. I don't have a tracking link yet. Still the usual back and forth discussions but they reply about once every 4 business days now.

Replacing the mouse switches yourself will require you to desolder the old switches from the PCB and resolder new ones (aftermarket Kailh or you can get japanese Omron ones too). You can get replacement switches from AliExpress or etc. Provided you are willing to do this, there are tutorials / Youtube videos out there showing how to do this.

This is similarly priced to G Pro, is it better getting that instead?

Different shapes and weights. I believe the sensors, etc are all the same. Logitech doesn't make their own sensors, its just a rebranded one.

G502 has two extra buttons side of the left click button, infinite scroll wheel, and a 'sniper' button for your thumb. All the extra features add to the weight. So it depends on what is most important to you.

G502 is a larger mouse. And how you choose to grip your mouse will likely be the biggest determining factor on which you will enjoy more.

    • Own both, would recommend g502 to start with, better grip and shape. If weight is everything then G pro

  • Can also get the g903 wireless for 160 at certain places. The newly rolled out hero version which I'm assuming they rolled out with fixed double click issue.

The battery life is insane - it says 140 hours, i've had mine running for about 10 days now and its still on 50%.

  • I think even FPS, MMO mice (with 12 buttons) are better, there's so many commands you gotta rely on the keyboard otherwise.

    • low DPI switch for snipes
    • throw frag
    • throw flash
    • comms
    • prone/crouch
    • etc
  • This sold out pretty quick.

    • Sold out in ~20mins :/

    • available quantity was pretty low to start with, IIRC
