the game honestly looks like trash…..i would wait…this is not going to hold its price….

    • -1

Did you play the beta? Yes, price never holds for PS4 games.

      • ps4 never holds price? yes they do….if they are good..this will drop like a stone…

beta reviews where bad.. game is FULL of micro transactions….yeah no thanks…..

        • -4

Which PS4 game has held its price? Look at GoW for example.

How else they're going to support years of free DLC character and story content?

          Jesus, it's not a charity.

Sorry, I loved the beta, was awesome. Not sure what people are expecting, such an entitled bunch of people.

          • @RocketSwitch: gow - 5 months it held its price, not bad, RDR2 - 9 months… This….will be under $40 within 4 weeks…is my guess.

LOL micro-transactions are a fkkrn curse…the DLC characters are already DONE and developed. Years to come doubt it.

            ……Breaking NEWS…..
You can now get the V1.2 Patch for just $10 dollars, you wont be able to finish the game without this patch because of a game ending BUG but this patch will fix it… JUST $10 today….

$60 was just the game you WANT a patch??…Sorry we are not a charity…we need to develop fixes…..

            • @bugman: LOL, as I said, PS4 games NEVER hold their price. So wait it out. Look at Nintendo games for reference if its a concept too hard to handle.

What are you talking about? They are cosmetic in-game purchases only.

Wrong again, the 15 other characters are IN development, not developed yet.

Again, wrong and assumptions, spreading misinformation and ignorance. They won't charge you for patches LOL and will release a substantial amount of free content, including ALL characters for free.

Man, you must suck at debates lol

    • +2

A PS2 game quality, so poor. Even the $11 MK better than this trash.

      • Didn't know PS2 was capable of running this trash, you must have a version no one else had.

  • Free delivery by 4th September, does that mean it'll arrive on the 4th or get shipped out?

    • Arrives: Friday, 4 Sep

Prime usually delivers on launch date, esp to parcel locker. Some have had mixed delays though.

As others have said, expecting this title to drop in price pretty quickly though.

  • +3

beta looked ok and gameplay was fun, but it's really buggy.

    • -1

probably why its called a beta

      • +8

        This naivity has to stop.

2 weeks from release, the game has already gone gold and is NOT a beta.

        • +5

I agree when a beta is 2 weeks out they're more of a demo.

  • Hmm… we’ll see about this one..

  • +1

for some reason I'm getting Anthem vibes from this…will definately wait for reviews - standard amazon launch pricing nowdays though.

    • Nothing like Anthem, this has a full 12 hour story mode, plus multiplayer. Anyway, played the beta for 10 hours, absolutely a hundred more times better than Anthem in every single way. So much more content.

Awesome game, but this price is standard.

  • +2

Yeah, definitely gonna be able to pick this up in 4 weeks for $30 if the initial impressions are anything to go by.

  • +1

This is 100% not a pre-order, watch recent youtube vids it looks baaaaad

    • -2

No it doesn't. Did you play the beta? Your comment will not age well lol

      • +4

maybe it will who knows, I loved spiderman ps4 it's literally the reason i switched over. But this game looks very mediocre to me, I'll wait for reviews

        • +1

Me too, I played Spider-Man to death on PS4… I played the beta all weekend. Let me tell you, you're going to love it. Yes, not as fun as swinging around as Spider-Man, nothing ever is… but this is awesome. Plays well, like a mix of God of War, Spider-Man and Bayonetta. Writing is first class, graphics amazing.

Oh, and Ms Marval was developed by the guy who worked on the God of War fighting mechanics… so, it's tasty.

          • +2

@RocketSwitch: Are the graphics amazing? It looks like a ps3 game from the gameplay videos.

          • @RocketSwitch: Ok, sounds like bad graphics doesn't affect the gameplay experience.

            • @Shaolinking: Not sure what you're talking about. The set pieces are mind-blowing. I was playing in 4K HDR-enabled, it looked breathtaking on the 75" TV. If you think this is bad, I have nothing left to say to you. I feel sorry for you.

For everyone else, look how bad this game looks? LOL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxT64MqI-lc So bad. Looks like a NES game, LOL!! That also doesn't show you how detailed the forest environment is after the end of this section.

      • +2

Why did he have to play the beta? He said it LOOKS bad. Which it does, based on the beta gameplays on YouTube. Not a great pre-order incentive.

  • +2

The whole Spider-Man as a PS4 character situation has really left a bad taste in my mouth. Let's be honest, he's one of the main characters people would want to play. I think I'll hold off and see if that situation changes at all.

    • -6

Then get the PS4 version. He is a licensed character,

      • +4

Yeh thats the way. If you don't like a companies marketing tactic, the way to protest it is by….buying into it?

        That'll teach em

        • +2

Eh? You expect Mario to be on PS4 too? It's Sony's, they can do what they want.

          • +1

@RocketSwitch: But it's not like that. Hence Spider-Man appeared in Ultimate Alliance 3 on Switch.

          • +1

@RocketSwitch: Sony doesn't own the gaming rights for Spider-Man, only movie rights. Hell, he's been in many of the Lego Marvel series games, Ultimate Alliance 3 on Switch was an exclusive from memory.

Sony obviously paid Marvel enough to lock in the character as a platorm exclusive for this particular game. You know what? I would kinda get it if there was a matching alternate exclusive on the XB1 that balanced it out. It would be shit, but it would be balanced. However this way, you're going to have a game released on one platform with more content (character and character story missions) than on other platforms. But the price is going to be exactly the same. That's the part that really turns me off.

    • -3

      just buy it on PS4

      • -2

The grumps are out with their negative votes, be careful

    • +1

Might be with Sony owning the rights to the spiderman franchise, and leased it to marvel to use. Where is microsoft paying to use it?

      • +1

Marvel owns the game rights, so I assume that Sony paid them a boatload of cash to lock in the exclusive character for the game. I mentioned this in another comment - exclusives are shit, but I get it, especially when each platform has different exclusives. A minor version of this would be items in Rocket League, XB1 and PS4 both have platform exclusives. It's balanced. But for this game, the PS4 version has an extra character and extra missions. XB1 users will literally be paying the same amout for a game with less content.

        • +3

That's exactly why businesses have deals like this, to force the hand of the consumer to purchase one over the other. We mad about how deals are done? Microsoft should have done something in this case for the XB1 version.

          • +1

@RocketSwitch: I'm not mad about it, business is business. Just saying that (as an XB1 owner only) it's turned a likely certain purchase into a "wait and see". Obviously Sony thought it was worth doing, probably didn't want people seeing this as a possible alternative to Spider-Man (2018) as a way to scratch that Spidey itch.

Anyway, spending the same amount for less features kinda seems like a breach of the Ozbargain terms of use…I don't want to lose my Ozbargain license. :)

  • +4

After playing the beta i'm going to hold of for 6 months or more so they can fix the issues, not keen on the trickle feed of content either

  • +5

From the Beta reviews I've watched, that's $69 too much.

    • -2

So you basing something on a Beta release, do you understand what a Beta is?

      • +4

        Yep I do.

Do you understand a Beta exhibiting this many issues 2 weeks before release can't possibly be resolved by the release date?

But hey, I'm quite happy to be proven wrong. If all the graphics bugs / menu bugs / matchmaking issues that currently exist are gone upon release, feel free to come back to the thread and roast me.

        But….they won't be.

        • -1

YOu have Beta, then Alpha then production release

          • +3

@asa79: That's not even how the alphabet works

          • +2

@asa79: Wait.. what…? That's not how it works. That's not how any of this works!

            Pre-alpha > alpha > beta > release candidate > stable release > RTM.

It's entirely possible that the public beta hasn't yet been updated with additional fixes that will make it into RTM, but it's unlikely.

Realistically the RTM will probably be very close to the current beta with additional fixes in a day 1 patch. The "benefits" of internet connected consoles. RTM doesn't need to be as bug free as previous generations.

  • "this game looks trash , from what I've seen online , the beta reviews I've watched"

I've actually played both weekends so far, with friends, we've had a blast so far.

Is the game perfect? By no means, is it fun? Heck yeah!

Only reason I might delay picking this up is my backlog of shame haha!

    • I'm with you, whilst there were some bugs (to be expected), it was great fun, particularly playing with friends. I've placed the pre-order.

  • -2

I dont think many people in here understand what Beta means

    • +5

The game comes out in 2 weeks. The discs are likely already printed. It's a demo.

      • and patches also apply after you install the game

        • lets see how well A PATCH would fix it. lols

          • +1

@Shaolinking: No Man's Sky says hi lulz

            • +2

@RocketSwitch: So you're saying Avengers will be good in 3 years after a complete overhaul and countless updates?

              • +1

@BargainEnjoyer2022: I believe the game is good now. As I said, I played 10 hours of it on the weekend, most of it multiplayer with friends (combos you can do is unreal, like Hulk smash an enemy to your friend and can then combo with you). It has a 12 hour storyline already. Filled with action and amazing writing. The new character is fantastic and plays extremely well. Ms Marval.

In 3 years time, you are going to have one of the definitive experiences in the Marval universe yet.

I have no idea where all this hate came from. When I first booted the game up I was so bias expecting it to be poo thanks to all the amazing content creators out there.

Oh boy, had so much fun. Have no idea what people are expecting.

  • +1

I think a lot of the fun depends on which character you play as. personally I found Hulk slow, janky, and awful. Yet I had fun with Thor, even got some GoW vibes throwing my hammer around.

But this is definitely the type of game to hold off and grab 6mnths down the line when they've released all the drip feed content.

  • +2

At the risk of being flamed by a couple of commenters:

    I Tried the 'demo'.

IMO, i quickly found that it got boring & repetitive.

Watched a few online reviews, and their conclusion was the same.

My guess, price of this will tank in a few week after release.

If you're on the fence, save your money and not preorder this.

    • +1

no risk of being flamed in this thread, seems like everyone hates the game anyway but will end up buying the game at a later date anyway.

      • Nonetheless, i hope you'll enjoy the game OP.

    • Surprisingly I'm interested in trying it now thinking it would've come down in price but instead everywhere seems to be $79+!
