Get Halfbrick Studios’ Jetpack Joyride For Free By Liking Apple’s App Store On Facebook

281

If you "like" Apple's App Store Facebook page & add the "Free on App Store" Facebook app, you'll be able to get Jetpack Joyride for free (usually 99c).
Jetpack Joyride is the latest game from Halfbrick Studios, the developers behind the popular game, Fruit Ninja.

PLEASE NOTE: To be able to redeem the offer, you MUST access the site from a US VPN (like Hotspot Shield). Otherwise, it says that the offer is "Not available in your country". (Since I already had all that installed, it was pretty effortless to get the app.)

Here's how I did it:
1. Download and install Hotspot Shield
2. Connect to the VPN
3. Visit the Facebook link and follow the directions
4. Copy and paste the redemption code here

(Hat tip to kspec for telling me it worked in his Australian iTunes account)

Saw this this morning, tried it, didn't work in Australia (as mentioned in the post), if you've got a VPN to the US already fine, but otherwise a lot of effort to go to, to save $0.99

    • Ok, looks like it's working for us in Australia now… can't change the negative vote to a positive one, but I've removed the negative vote!

  • -2

Yeah same didn't work for me as well

    • Yeh like I said, you need a VPN (or a proxy) so that the app thinks you're in the US.

  • +1

It's a good game, easily worth the 99c outlay anyway.

    • Yeh I'm loving it - its simplicity is a winner.

  • +1

got it on my australian account.. i redeem the code in tunes with my australian account and it works.. :)

    • oh ok – thanks for letting me know! did you need to use a VPN though?

      • +1

i actually did to get the code..i posted how to below..

        • Thanks mate. :)

  • +1

heres how i did it.. on windows 7
    1.download Ultrasurf - http://ultrasurf.us/

2.unzip it and run it.. it'll make ur browser vpn using US proxy automatically..(leave it running on the background don't close it yet..)

3.open your internet browser and log into your Facebook account and LIKE and get the free code.. SAVE THE CODE OR WRITE IT DOWN ASAP so you don't loose it..this are unique codes which can only be redeem once on iTunes..

4.close all browser and click exit on ultra surf ( *note-MUST CLICK ON EXIT in APP! or CLOSE wateva its called, it'll close all browser..or else ur proxy mite stuff up and ur internet wont work properly..

5.once Ultrasurf is shutdown, open up iTunes on ur pc or mac and log in your original iTunes account and click on redeem on the side..

6.put the code in and it'll automatically download to ur AUS account :) after its downloaded on intunes on the PC/MAC you can either sync it or u can log into appstore on the iPhone and search for the app its free cos its saved in your account already…

this might look like a long step but its very simple and quick..you won't have to make fake US iTunes account..

let me know if it works for you..

I found the easiest way to be the following (just for OzBargain readers' sake):
      1. Download and install Hotspot Shield
      2. Connect to the VPN
      3. Visit the Facebook link and follow the directions
      4. Copy and paste the redemption code here

      • +2

        more like…
        1. Run Hotspot Shield (because you already have it installed to watch Hulu and get other bargains that are IP specific)
        2. Profit. :)

i just wished they gave away "where's my water" instead.

        • haha yeh exactly – not sure how anybody on here functions without having a copy of HSS (or other US VPN) installed. it's way handy (especially in situations like this :D)

The only thing a VPN won't get you is those free weekly apps from Starbucks :(
Some people get all the perks…

        • +1

I don't have US or HSS, I just have many servers spread across the globe I can tunnel through if I need to :P

        • You've got your own servers? :O

        • Well actually I rent them.

Thanks for the tips kspec. I successfully downloaded to my Aussie itunes a/c & l had the ultrasurf open the whole time. It was really very simple.

After l clicked on "Get this app" on facebook, it didn't give me a code, instead it took me to my itunes account where l began the download. After it had downloaded l closed ultrasurf.

      • +1

Just so everyone knows, #1 has already been taken, d'oh.

Out of the kindness of my heart, I've generated a few more codes (thanks again to kspec for the idea):

  • Too much work to save 99 cents even for a tight ass like me :(

  • +1

Thanks for post. Got it by configuring my firefox to go through a US proxy

  • Why should I like something I haven't tried yet?

    • +1

      U mean u haven't tried Apple's App Store? It's pretty nice. Hehe.

  • But I don't like Apple's app store that much, and I don't have Facebook.

    • Don't redeem the offer then?

  • +1

Best game ever! Totally worth the 99c if you can't get it free..

  • Anymore codes?

    • Here's one for you: LTAAP6L9YAHW

      • Sorry, kinda missed it…
Can you email it to me? :D

        • Unfortunately, it's the last one I was able to mass-generate - they've caught onto the bug, and have only allowed you to generate one code per Facebook account. If you install Hotspot Shield, you'll be able to get one yourself…

        • Hmm it's working for me as of 8:08 am; try it again…

  • -1

I tried hotspot shield but it does not work. However, as kspec pointed out above, use ultrasurf and it worked beautifully. Download it, run it, access facebook, grab the code and done

    • +1

It's working for me as of right now; the app just takes a bit of time to generate the code…

  • Hey guys, looks like they've patched the "Refresh to generate more codes" bug; you'll all have to get them on your own now…

    • +1

wow they must have patched it just as I was writing a script to get me 100 codes >_>

      Well hey I got 5.

      • haha nice one :Þ
        oh well five's good :)

        • +1

I wonder if it's restricted by account or IP… Either way I could get a lot more :D

        • I think it's by account…

    • Thanks heaps. Grabbed code 5.

    • +1

BTW anyone who wants to add me on openfeint/gamecentre it's the same nick as on here

    • +1

Thanks that was a really neat way you created those links.
      I took code 4

  • UltraSurf appear to collect a fair bit of information:

    Your Internet protocol address (IP).
The kind of browser or computer you use.
Number of links you click within the site.
State or country from which you accessed the site.
Date and time of your visit.
Name of your Internet service provider.
Web page you linked to our site from.
Pages you viewed on the site.

Based on their privacy policy http://ultrasurf.us/privacy.html

    Is this common?

    • Probably it's common for free VPN services; the occasional use is pretty harmless. If you want to be on the cautious side, you could try Tor.

  • dam openfeint is upside down >.<

  • +1

omg no one told me about HSS working with Hulu, all shows for free :)

  • +2

Confirmed it works in AUS now :) thanks +1
