More Unadvertised AirAsia Sales: AU to Europe $947 Return Incl Tax!

530

Fresh from our deal detector - The crazy fares from 2 weeks ago are mostly back! Some highlights - Perth-London: $947 return, Melbourne-London: $1176 return. As per last time, this doesn't appear to have been advertised (that I can find), but it came up on the Adioso price drop detector.

Consequently I have no idea how many fares there are and when they expire (ie: they could disappear at any moment), but they're definitely really available at time of writing.

Some other good ones to look at:

Melbourne to London: http://adioso.com/au/mel-to-lgw-1-stop
Gold Coast to Europe: http://adioso.com/au/ool-to-europe-1-stop

To find out more options, you can always do an "international" search, ie:

We're also still in the midst of building our automated deal detection system so it can email you directly, if you're interested, feel free to sign up here: http://adioso.com/subscribe

Happy hunting!

How about the times? Sydney to Europe for 1 month during December-January would still be $950? Highly doubt it…

Yeah, there's not a heap in December (but decent amount in January). Sydney is annoyingly a good chunk harder because AirAsia doesn't fly there. Best I've found is Sydney-London mid January return for: $1176 on 3 tickets, which is still pretty crazy good for peak holiday season.

  • I found MEL-KUL-ORY for around $350 or so one way in Feb12. Couldn't find anything similar coming back within 1 mth after that though…

    • Yeah they don't extend too far ahead (understandably). I'm hanging out for mid next year but most of the flight options end around Feb…

Anyone who buys a fare with AirAsia might also be interested in using OptionTown (http://www.optiontown.com) to potentially score a cheap upgrade to business class. I've only used it once, but managed to get an upgrade on SAS last year.

Downside is having to pay upfront with no guarantees of getting an upgrade, but refunds supposedly happen pretty quickly in most cases.

  • Awesome web site. Recommendation: add Finnair.

    • Ta, we'll look into it!

  • Agreed. Awesome site! Great work. Wasn't aware that it existed.

  • Why are the prices so cheap? I bought my round trip to Warsaw this christmas for $1800 through China Southern…. and thought that was cheap.

  • What an awesome site, love it. well done to who ever did it.

  • By the time you pay for your seat (yep you have to pay extra for your seat), pay for meals and pay for entertainment (+ credit card surcharge) it's not that much cheaper than any other airline. You're better off finding something on Emirates or Singapore for ~AUD1500 when there's a good special and you don't worry about too many other hidden costs!

    • "By the time you pay for your seat" - you don't have to pay for a seat, you can remove the seat selection option, and get a lottery seat at the airport check-in.

"pay for meals" - you don't have to buy meals, you can bring your own or go without.

"pay for entertainment" - you don't have to pay for entertainment, you can bring your own book/ipod/laptop/gameboy.

"+ credit card surcharge" - for flights departing from Australia (and some other regions), there's the Paypal option which direct debits from your bank account for $0 fees.

"too many other hidden costs" - all the costs are shown to you before you enter your payment details and click pay. It's hardly hidden, and no one is forcing them onto you. You get a choice of what you want to pay for, which is the philosophy of a low cost carrier like AirAsia! If you are the type that wants all the jazz to go with your flight, then yes, perhaps Emirates or Singapore would be a better choice.

      • People like to justify paying double (via a sweet talking salesperson), by imagining that when you add on the extras, budget flights cost about the same as other airlines.

I've been paying $250 for return flights to Malaysia for years. Including bags and tax!

It's not so cheap now, but if you think flying Quantas, etc, is 'about the same' as Air Asia, you are ever so slightly deluded.

  • Good find again I think you had one for Strategic Air I took that for Hawaii great value Thanks and keep up the good work

  • Adioso Rocks!
Caught a $210 KUL-MEL fare thanks to my Adioso alerts - Unfortunately I'd booked the outbound leg via Jetstar for $400 just a week earlier!
