A Dyson corded barrel vacuum on sale. Model DC37c.

Cheapest price I have seen for awhile on corded dyson. The Dyson Ball Multi Floor has been engineered for high dust and dirt removal. Dyson cyclones are more efficient than others – more dust and dirt is flung out of the airflow and into the bin.

Priced at $379. After sale reverts to $499.

Big W is also selling the upright Dyson Light Ball for $399. A $100 saving on the normal price.

Also $200 cheaper than on the Dyson.com.au website where RRP is $599

Does anyone know what the difference is between the two? ie the Light Ball Multi Floor (aka UP16, or 214580-01/2) vs the Light Ball Multi Floor+ (281282-01). The only difference i can see is that the "+" version includes a carbon fiber soft dust brush? Doesn't seem like much to justify an extra $100 rrp, but then it is Dyson ;)

Take note: This Dyson model is an older generation.

However, the below one seems to be the same as the current generation.

This is an older model where you have to wash filter. Most other retailers and Dyson selling newer model which doesn't require you to wash filter for $400 on sale, so this isn't much of a sale.

  • This or the Miele Blizzard or any other vacuum?

    • In all honesty I think the Miele makes better vacuums, but I would look for a bagless one.

Choice reviewed the Dyson dc37 years ago. They thought it was quite good at complete carpet clean. Complete carpet clean according to choice’s method of testing is 8 passes.

Most Dyson and Miele bagless barrel vacuums according to choice score a roughly mid 60’s to low 70’s complete clean score.
Their method of testing - https://www.choice.com.au/home-and-living/laundry-and-cleani…

Both the Miele blizzard cx1 and Dyson big ball origin scored a complete carpet clean score of 73%. So they are much of a muchness. Pretty similiar really. But the Miele blizzard is currently few hundred $$ more

However the Dyson on sale at Big W Is older model (as noted above) is not the same as Dyson big ball origin.

  • Looking for a reasonably priced battery powered stick vacuum. Aldi one I got similar to this in 2016 is still going strong but dragging it's bulky motor / drum area around is becoming painful by the day.
