  • Is this a good vpn?

    • bump

    • If it's too good to be true, it probably is. This is ridiculously cheap for lifetime VPN access.

      • It’s probably not too good to be true as you can pay with PayPal and get buyer protection if needed

    • I've been using it on my NAS for a fair while now, never had any issues.
I get download speeds of 3-5MB/s so fast enough for a cheap one.
I got 1x device for like $7 like 3+ years ago, still going strong.

I've got this and it's trash. DO NOT BOTHER. I get about 1mb/s, frequently servers dont work, and i question thier privacy. Go with the $10/3yr nord/etc options and review again then.

      • For speed, it's better to use US or europeans servers with ikev2 protocol (140-170mbps). But sometime it's difficult to connect to the server.
You can use TCP/UDP protocol if ikev2 does'nt work but the speed will be slower (~60-80mbps).

Of course, it's not as good as nordvpn.

  • I've been looking for an alternative to PIA VPN since I've started getting CloudFlare Captcha checks on loads of sites when I'm connected via PIA. It's now effectively useless for me. Does anyone have experience of these guys?

    • Yeah I get that with vpn.ac too.

  • damnit i thought the Nord one for 3 years was good.. why is there such a massive price difference between all these VPNs!

    • +1

one feature that Nord has is the "cybersec" which is an adblocker on Android. I'm keeping Nord because of this. Less ads when on apps when using it.
Although the description says "ad blocker", FastestVPN for Android does not seem to have this feature. Maybe it is only for the desktop version.

  • couldn't see it listed on this site https://thatoneprivacysite.net/
but then again i dont think that site has been updated for a while.

  • But, can it get global netflix?

    • Fastestvpn unlocks netflix US (miami server and netflix server on UDP protocol) and Roumania.
The Denver server is for Disney+ US.

  • Has anyone had experience with this VPN?

Imagine thinking a lifetime VPN is a sustainable business model, at any price, but especially at under $50.

False advertising, there is zero chance this will last more than a few years. Might as well go with a decent provider than count on a "lifetime" subscription at a fixed price.

    • I agree, in order to provide VPN, they need both servers and bandwidth. Both of which requires ongoing costs. I can't imagine any VPN business can survive without a subscription based model. Without ongoing subscription, I can only expect performance will deteriorate over time as they can't afford to upgrade servers and bandwidth with increased user base.

    • My windscribe vpn is still going strong for a few years now.

  • It's better to buy directly from fastestvpn -> https://fastestvpn.com/lifetime-special-deal?a_aid=5d6d4188d…
US$20 for 10 devices lifetime plan.

    • US$18 with BFCM19

    • +1

It's better not to buy it really.

    • Thanks Justu, I\ve bought it because there are not too many lifetime deal vpns around anymore, aware that this might be a gamble. And indeed, their app on windows is horrific, but they have many instructions for various apps on their site, so now I am running it for a week with OpenVpn and I'm actually pretty happy with it, cheers.
