[NSW, QLD] 7 Frozen Meals for $27 @ Gate Gourmet (Pickup at Sydney / Brisbane Airport)

170

Gate Gourmet has again opened up another round of frozen meals and this time just in Sydney and Brisbane. I’ll be missing out as Vic is out due to stage 4. But for those who can, enjoy! (Perth is out too)

I ordered from last time around and it was decent and better than youfoods.

price increase for less meals last one was 10 meals for $25

    • Yes they have. But it’s still really worth it for the price.

      • agreed

      • I disagree. TBH two meals made a normal size meal, so that was $5 total. Frozen meals at Woolies taste just as nice IMO or end of day specials from food court/restaurants

      45% increase …. that's madness for ozb

now it's similar price per pk to those half-price frozen meals

Worth noting that it's 7 random meals. They can't be selected.

Also, good lord it's a slow loading site. Not helped by the fact that the thumbnail images are 1.5 to 2MB each.

  • Wonder why they aren't doing it in Perth.

    • borders are closed

      • Meals are prepared in state

        • or territories…

    • More international airlines operating ex Brisbane and Sydney. Perth only has Qatar, Emirates, Scoot, Malaysia & Garuda operating and I don't believe any of those are contracted with Gate Gourmet, so they likely shut down operations rather than use them just for online sales.

Saw their email - at $2 / $2.50 a meal it was worth the inconvenience of pick up near airport & random meals.
Enjoyed the 20 meals for $40.
At nearly $4 per random meal, pickup, I'll pass.

Airplane food in the comfort of your own home?

Is this for those playing flight simulation games to get that authentic pilot experience?

    • Very popular Deal (310+) last time!
      I enjoyed my lounge flights.

They packed 9 meals instead of 10 last time, and no response to my e-mail to resolve the problem. I won't buy again with this huge price increase. You can buy similar frozen meals at supermarkets at this price.

Almost $4 per meal and I need to drive all the way to their place. no deal to me.

  • To be fair I doubt they were making much (if any) profit selling those meals for $2.50 each. The meals also seem to be larger this time (from the images).

    • Last time they were clearing old stock. Otherwise it would have been donated or binned.

Photos of food on plastic trays look about same size as before. Plated it's hard to tell.

  • No deal as the price increased. Secondly last time I got more tom yum rice packets and less good ones And the rice packets caused upset stomach

    • oh wow sorry to hear… Mine was all good though. The number of choices weren’t much but was quite happy with it.

They also have a clearance pack now available. This option was not there on their site earlier today. You can pick up 10 meals for $25 with expiry dates in September. (Brisbane and Sydney only)

Sold out in Brisbane while I was in the middle of placing an order earlier today, oh well.
Based on the photos, this batch of meals doesn't looks as good as the last, and also no breakfast meals is a shame. Knowing my luck, I probably would have ended up with a boring selection like 8 spaghetti and 2 pasta, nothing fancy.
Me and a mate had multiple orders last time, some a win and others not so good (9 ravioli = umm, ok?). The breakfasts were all awesome though.
