Would be suitable for someone like me to play Microsoft Flight Sim 2020 coming next week. Local stock nearby, fast and free pickup. Otherwise you may be patient for the RTX3000 series. Please note that this card offers one each of the DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0b, DVI-D ports.

I bought my RTX 2060 in September 2019 for $420 delivered, from memory. Just before the mining boom.
There was another boom this year?
This is RTX 2060 Super which has 8g Vram
hmm would rather push a little get 2070 for $655. but pretty sure more price dropping coming soon.
maybe push a little more get 2070S for $749
push bit more again for 2080s for $1,000
pushed too far now I got a 2080ti up my arse. I've played too much escape from tarkov.
Is it really worth to pay that extra for no significant improvement overall?
not sure what the price diff is but it's about a 3% performance increase according to Tom's GPU Heirarchy
I'd love to wait for the 3050/3060 but I really want a mid-range graphics card by Christmas at the latest. Due to Nvidia's staggered release, the 3060 will probably release between Oct and Jan, and then you have to factor in waiting for aftermarket cards to be released (they usually have much better cooling solutions) and reviews for those cards and everything being out of stock and the launch price of a good 3060 will probably be much higher than this… Depending on your situation, waiting for 3000 series may not be worth it
October/November for the 3060, because it's up against the consoles.
This entire series was pushed back 2 months because of covid it seems, so the initial release schedule should be relatively compressed.
Until Nvidia announce its all speculation but most commentary I've seen agrees with Edgy that 3060's probably won't be seen till end of year/early next year. Depending on what AMD do and where their cards are competitive may poke Nividia into gear though.
You don't launch your mainstream GPU two months after a major console launch.
Show me where NVIDIA's done that in the last 10-15 years, and then you're welcome to keep up that opinion.
The 3050 will come later, but the 3060 has to launch before the consoles in order to present its value proposition very clearly.
@jasswolf: Yep, personally I'm hopeful that Ampere prices will be driven down by competition against Big Navi and the new consoles which all offer similar performance (a somewhat unprecedented situation I think?). So I'm waiting another 2 months or so before I make a decision, but I'm definitely set on buying something by the end of November. If that happens to be an overpriced 3070 well then RIP wallet I guess
@EdgyEggplant: They won't compete in terms of ray tracing and machine learning benefits like DLSS, but yes they should be otherwise competitive up to around the xx80 level.
wait till Black Friday sale 27 Nov 2020
Rumours say partner boards to release along side FEs
For an extra $22 delivered there's a raft of RX 5700 XTs on Amazon. I'd say is much better value.
21 days till the Ampere reveal.. https://twitter.com/NVIDIAGeForce
Ahhh I paid $599 for this last week, dang it.
Are you happy with the card? How is the noise and temps? I just bought it but couldn't find many reviews
Seems fine? My previous card was a r9 290 so it's a big upgrade for me. Haven't had much time with it yet tbh. Regular full load temps is around 73~, overclocked stable for me is 83~
Level of noise under full load seems fine, a bit noisy I guess?Good to know! Thanks for responding. Seems like a pretty good value card, can't expect the best noise/temps I guess.
The card runs that hot that the fans need to be working even though it's sitting idle in a picture?
… I'll show myself out now …
congratulation, you played yourself
Well that’s because he can’t play any games because the card runs too hot.
I missed the good old time when mid range graphic card only cost you less then $300 and around $600 for flagship…
I miss the times games would fit on a few floppy discs. But here we are. :’(
This deal is still on at umart. Shopping Express has it at the same price too.
This is the price the 8GB rtx 2600 super should be right now considering rtx2070s can be bought for around $650 on Amazon currently. Nvidia stopped providing rtx 2x cards for manufacturing to their board partners so these cards will become rare (and probably slightly cheaper) in the next few months
Also a good choice if you need lower tdp, lower temps and lower power draw compared to rx 5700 xt's (currently going for $599). AMD really should've plugged the hole in the market with an 8GB rx 5600xt for those who need decent 4k.
Ideal for those who need a card now and cannot wait till December/jan for the big Navi/ ampere mid rangers. Great for flight sim 2020 as Nvidia profile inspector is more tweakable compared to amd Radeon.
It was $549 at SE last weekend. I bought it, decent card but the fans are pretty loud. To be expected I guess for the cheapest 2060s by far. I also just bought an EVGA 2060 Super SC Ultra for about $100 more to see how it compares.
speaking of fan noise, and because they haven't shipped mine out yet; does using a fan curve through msi afterburner help things?
Also what kind of temps do you see getting when running the card under load? I'd reckon that the evga would be a lot quieter and durable. I had an evga 8600gts back in the day and it was a good product from them.
Fans don't run at less than 34-35% in afterburner. If you set it to less than that you'll get annoying sounds of the fans trying to start up. Temps are hitting 79-80deg in CoD:MW/WZ in a Meshify C with a slight undervolt. Going to try undervolt it a bit further. The plan is to move this into the Lian Li Lancool II Mesh which has 2 spots for 120mm fans below the GPU which I think will help a lot. At the moment the fans have to stay on at 35% idle, maybe with the 2x120 below I can have the fans come on only when gaming.
it getting cheap and cheaper
