Hope I'm not the odd one out preferring cool daylight instead of warm… I find cool brighter and think it could be better for the eyes (less strenuous)

I agree with you. I think the old 'Cool White' CFL's have tainted the white light. Newer high quality LED's with a daylight temperature match perfectly and look great when switched on. It looks as if you've just got more natural light coming in the house through windows!
I agree Cool daylight is much better than Yellowish shade of Warm. Less strain on the eyes as well.

Harvey Norman were selling some for $10 a few weeks back.
My house is filled with warm white Philips bulbs I bought from the previous deals. The latest ones that I ordered online they sent me soft white which were somewhere in between cool and warm.
I went to exchange the soft white one’s and they didn’t have any warm white ones at all. I went to another woolies nearby and found the same.
Soft white isn’t even listed on woolies website or on the price tags in store. Not sure if woolies sells warm white anymore. Can anyone confirm?

Soft white sounds nice. I find the warm white to yellow, makes it hard to distinguish my family…
I wish they sell something in between cool (6500K) and warm white (2700K), something in the range of 4300-4800K will be just nice.
