I used my first Apple product in 2007 and since then I have tried couple of times to adapt Android and Windows but always fails my latest attempt was with Google Pixel 4 but to be honest!
Safari, iMessages, AirDrops, AirPods and no lags as well as It Just Works thingy is hard to defy.
I have Pixel 4 sitting in my drawer since last one month, I used to on weekends but it doesn’t appeal me.

Windows is a mixed bag, too many variants so the normal consumer level desktops/laptops is what you see in Jbhifi, which gives Windows a bad name.
Build quality is stellar in business grade windows laptops, but also comes at a cost (still cheaper than Apple offerings lol)

They have an amazing phone gaming ecosystem, but they are blocking advances like cloud gaming as they want a percentage of the revenue stream. PC gaming is called PC gaming for a reason.

They were late to music streaming, pushing individual purchases and only changed after significant movement to spotify.
Apple do great work. They regularly innovate in packaging and feature sets, but after release they tend to let tech stagnate and only update after their competition has copied and improved Apple's original idea.

macOS has nothing to do with Linux, Unix, yes. Linux is a kernel. OS X doesn’t even ship with GNU tooling, they use BSD programs. Darwin, which is the foundation of macOS/iOS/etc. has a fundamentally different kernel. e.g. Linux is a monolith and Darwin used a hybrid kernel.

They have hundreds, if not thousands, of very talented employees. They are often innovators. They market like nobody else. They push tech forward. At release, many of their products are very reasonably priced.
The only thing that I hate about Apple is their purchase of Intrinsity, as Samsung was a client too and should have been lock step with Apple. Instead we have one company with mobile CPU's 3-4 years ahead of the competition in machines that really don't need them.

Apple design their own SoCs. They also decimate Android SoCs in performance. I don't use any Apple products but you have to recognise their hardware superiority.

They had a great decade off that purchase, but I am not sure how much longer that will last. That group is amazing at making cutting edge CPU's, but they now have 'custom' GPU's and a range of small SoC. Their scope is too wide. The potential for burn out and mismanagement is stupidly high.
Some of the people I have seen added to that group are amazing. But if Intrinsity was Apple in any more than just a name I have no doubt most of their talent would have fled like Intel's has over the last decade.

He’s one of the foremost experts in the field of microprocessor engineering and led Apple’s A4/A5 initiatives, laying the foundations for their future SOCs. He also led AMD on the Zen (the code name for Ryzen) microarchitecture. I’d say his leadership has proven time and again that it can thrust companies pretty far ahead, considering the improvement trajectories of Apple/AMDs processors, after he’d worked there.

Was Keller the person who organised the Intrinsity deals? Probably. But he seems to be a superstar manager, not a CPU architect, as if he was AMD would have blown the currently stalled Qualcomm out of the water with their K12 architecture. And Apple would have fallen out of the race once he left.
I honestly can not wait for the next few Intel releases as Keller is generally a miracle worker.

Weird, this can be applied to those non-Apple product users who feel they need to post in every Apple-related deal about how a competitor's product is better, like someone actually asked them for their irrelevant opinion. Whilst I never had their products, breadth of options and competition is good for everyone.
Not as easy to fix as Windows based PC's. I actually replaced a HDD with an SSD in a Mac the other week, was most impressed with myself…and I've been playing with PC's since the late 70's.
My first Android was an S3 after 3 various iPhones. I remember the first time I started using it I thought it was the worst. But I was stuck with an expensive toy. The power button on the side rather than at the top was a killer to get used to. A few days later it was normal and remains so. Now I look at my partner's iPhone and wonder how she can tolerate one button rather than 3.

I owned an IPhone 4, stopped getting updates and device was slowed down. Android is much cheaper, newest redmi 9 is 10th the price of new apple phone.

Unless you have locked in and intend to resell a 2020 iPhone SE in 2022, resell value should really not be a consideration for "I can afford a phone".

Not really exclusive to either Android or iOS. Just depends on the device you choose and its capabilities.
Unless you have a signed contract or an actual intention to sell in 2 years time at an agreed price, resale value or salvage value should not be taken into account when buying a phone and saying you can afford it because of that, that's more of a "I'm justifying my choice of phone because people around me say that it's got good resale value"

Aesthetics, I like the design of their products and how iOS etc looks.
Whenever I upgrade an iPhone I feel kind of a loss for the weight and feel of the old one in my hand. It's like breaking up with someone and you're in bed and you turn to go tell them something, but there's someone else there instead. The new one might be younger and better looking, but you still miss the old one after getting so familiar.
The resale alone makes economic sense. I ended up bing cash positive after trading my old MacBook Air for my MacBook Pro and taking tax back and resale into account. You can’t knock free hardware. I use both iOS, Android, PC and OSX devices. I like them all for their merits, but if I was to choose one ecosystem, Apple gets it every time.

Apple support is amazing even when your device is 22 years out of warranty. I found my iMac from 1998 and just for fun called Apple to see if they could fix it. I was amazed to see that the serial number was still in their database and after running some diagnostic step we determined that the HDD was toast. Managed to find a spare IDE HDD and reinstalled macOS 8.

Apple makes the most user friendly iPads. This is after owning 4 iPad and 5 androids. Their iPhones on the other hand is way too expensive for the specs.

Honest answer. The Apple Watch has a lot of features and just works. I’m very glad I picked up one of these. You have to have an Apple phone, with the latest IOS to go with it so I got an iPhone XS at a decent price. Apart from a Camera this is, mainly, a hot spot for my watch and iPad. It is, also, an app runner for my watch.
The iPads are terrific and my main “device” that I use. It is my communicator, my games machine, reading the newspaper, browser, etc.
However, if I want compute power I go for a Windows PC. I’m a duckling and I just know how they work. I can’t be stuffed moving across to an Apple PC and think they are a tad overpriced.
It’s horses for courses but Apple does some things well and other things not so well. I pick and choose what suits me.
My kids can buy apps on their phones and i can approve them on mine…it just works without fuss
These are from my experiences after using both macOS and Windows on a daily basis.
For Apple:
Well optimised and speedy operating system, fewer crashes, long battery life, long term software support and design. Airdrop is also another critical feature missing on Android and Windows. Security and Privacy are also Apple's strong points.
For Windows:
Great for creating applications on multiple platforms, Better suited for business deployment. The only downside is the frequent crashes which give my clients a heart attack after working on a project for hours. But I have autosave so not much of an issue.

May be weird but every other phone brand that i bought for my wife, always caused grief for her but since past 5 years she is happy with iPhone (then 6s and now 11 pro). I am still using 2013 Macbook Air and never had issues till date.
I don't love Apple, but I like my MacBook Pro and its long battery life. And that's it. I am a happy Android (smartphone) and Windows (PC) user. It's about taste and people getting used to stuff. I think MacBook Pro is beautiful and well built, but I also think Apple Watch is ugly and would not buy one. I have been considering installing Windows on my MacBook Pro but haven't done that yet.

What I love about Apple products is my friend's asking me to fix something involve an apple product but having to figure out what they've renamed it too. Then I have to find out where they've hidden how to fix and then finding out it actually can't be changed or you have to take it to the Apple cult compound, I mean Apple store because it's being blocked off from the user.

I believe people when they talk about the Apple tax. But on the other hand, the resale on Apple hardware is excellent. Like you can get 20-30% back on 6-8 year old hardware. I feel like I get my Apple tax back :)

The entirety of the iMessage conversations that he was having with his new found overseas love interest were being viewed by his wife on the family iPad back home.
