Agreed. Got some on the last deal. Gave them away, burnt flavour.
Jumping on here to agree. Got the "house blend" and it just wasn't nice. I've never had starbucks and this didn't sell it to me.
I like the blonde ones. The coffee I mean.
The blonde is the only one that is decent (even for a lungo). I've tried all the others, and yes, they have a burnt almost bitter aftertaste.
I don’t mind the Columbia one. The house blend is crap though.
and here i was thinking it was just me. i never got why it was so popular in the US i even thought maybe i went to a bad one but no they all have that burnt taste it seems it is there brand.
it's not the same as coffee at an actual Starbucks.
The Kirkland beans (at least some of them, the ones I got) are made by Starbucks and I think they're pretty reasonable? The House Blend beans were a bit RS last time I had them.
currently the same price at my local woolworths
Woolies has it for $8
$4.83 at Woolworths Floreat in WA this arvo, i bought 9 boxes hence the reason i know. Likely just a local one-off store discount
As shown by other user

thanks, will pop down to my local woolies tomorrow. I find starbucks pods are better than LORS
My local woolies has it at $4.83, bought some yesterday
The orange Single Origin Colombia are the best ones. Beats pods from Nespresso themselves.
i don't think so….SB pods tasted a bit burnt and obviously worse than original capsules
Nope I disagree.
Totally disagree.. Why would they taste anymore burnt than regular Nespresso when they are also made by Nespresso?
They are the pods that nespresso rejects.
Oh, wait, that’s tuna.
Because they have the name Starbucks in them.
@Clear: The coffee is developed by Starbucks but taking Nespresso capsule pod technology so it fits Nespresso machine. Altho they are both Nestle products, Starbucks ones are produced in different factory.
If it didn't taste burnt then it wouldn't be Starbucks. If you think Starbucks coffee is ok, you'll probably like these.

I'm not a fan of Starbucks coffee normally… not sure if Nespresso version will make it any better.
Same. Love the story from the 2000 olympics when the CNN crew brought cartons of Starbucks coffee with them from the US because they wanted good coffee.
This is a true story.
And looking back now, It was also a sign of the end of CNN as a credible news source.
I like the Espresso Roast one
These coffee are second best if you ran out of Nespresso pods.
great price! also currently available at woolies for the same price, for those who are not Prime member
Was very excited to see nespresso pods from Starbucks at some point, total disappointment. I find Lor (onyx 12) the best.
Ordered 1 to each of my close friends with dumb names :) Hope it makes them smile in these shit times
Minimum quantity: 5
On Nespresso Espresso
You can get 24 pack of Mesona for less than $22 from Asian shops (eg: Tong Li).
Or $12.49 for Yeos. lol.
$10.99 for a 24 pack of Yeo's at Spud Shed. They have soy bean milk, grass jelly, lychee & sugar cane.
No available anymore
That's odd. I was at the one in Stirling, and they were $12.99 there?
House blend and Sumatra are the best! I honestly can't taste the burnt like ppl have said, I love them very much!
Same…
Are these compatible with the L'or machines? Infact which pods are generally compatible with L'or machines?
Nespresso compatible pods. L’Or also have their own pod for certain machines called Baristo which are basically double shots. Baristo machines can also take standard Nespresso pods as well.
Great, thanks.
These are actually made by Nespresso, so you can recycle them in the Nespresso system.
I recycle all aluminium pods at the Nespresso store… Am I not meant to ?
i was tossing up keeping my pods in a bag to recycle at the local nespresso store - keen to know if they'll accept tainting by other aluminium pods being pod into the recycle bin… .abit hard for me to seperate them out and take them to the store otherwise (i know… being abit lazy)
So I did a little digging.
Nespresso state that they only recycle their own pods. "Apparently" they use a proprietary silicon lined aluminium capsule ("for freshness") that is only recyclable using their "patented" recycling process.
Starbucks (by Nespresso) pods are also apparently Nespresso genuine pods; and can be recycled through the Nespresso Boutiques or collection points (or by mailing them in).
Other pod companies however use either a similar aluminium product (though not identical according to Nespresso IP) or a recyclable aluminium.
For those that use L'or, illy, or Moccona pods, there are collection facilities in most major cities (in Australia) through the Terracycle collection policy.
You can find a location near you by filtering the Accepted Waste Stream to L'or and Moccona capsules.
I couldn't find anything on the new Vittoria range, but on the Vittoria website it states: "Please note that unfortunately our Nespresso** compatible capsule range is not recyclable yet at this time. However, we are continuously working with our supply chain partners to explore ways to improve the ecological footprint of our capsules, while adhering to our highest standards for product quality."
If there are other aluminium Nespresso compatible pods I have missed, please let me know, so I can look those up for my own interest as well.
Cheers.
@Tiggrrrrr: Just logged in to +vote you, thank you for that info mate :)
@Tiggrrrrr: This is great. Thnk you. I can now recycle the L'or and Moccona pods I have just 5 minutes down the road. Can you please find out about Lavazza?
These are often $5 at woolies/coles/foodland on special
I used to be a hater. Hated the taste of their house blend in store when i'm interstate or overseas and couldn't understand the love.
Then i tried some of their speciality coffees during a xmas period and was hooked.
The Blonde is awesome straight or flavored in a white choc macadamia.
Since i switched to Soy, i can also handle the house blend- yet they have other better coffees including their original coffee "Verona" which is much better. I guess the taste buds of euros and americans is different to aus.
Yes the pods are Exactly the same as the coffee they use in store.
Blonde, columbia, and cafe verona are awesome. Better than Nespresso and i'd go so far as to say it's up there with the best coffees ive had in cafes around the world
Are there any Nespresso compatible pods that match the quality and taste of the actual Nespresso pods? I find the Nespresso pods to be a tad expensive.
Sorry, I should be more specific. The Nespresso pods that I prefer are Arpeggio and Ristretto.
It really proves coffee really does appeal to different people depending on their taste.
Like many here I found Starbucks pods (just like their stores) like they've been over-roasted giving that burnt taste.
My go to pods are generally the L'or signal origins range, Colombian and Papua New Guinea. Find them both great for my morning commute (3 pods at Lungo size shot).
Also trying out a few of the Vittoria range, the Ristretto is great, haven't started on my packs of single origin Nicaragua or Zimbabwe.
After drinking Nespresso pods for the first couple of years after getting my machine, I find it hard to justify the $1+ per pod price tag just for the convenience of having them delivered, against L'or appealing to my tastes more as well as being 60c normal, anywhere down to 40c per shot when on special.
When buying Nespresso I buy the Arpeggio or Roma.
$7.30 per sleeve. Generally use the buy 9 sleeves get one free or similar offer, so works out to $0.66 per capsule.
Nespressos aren't $1 / pod? Their new reviving origins are expensive though - $13.50 a sleeve or so, for "premium" coffee to help conflict zones - but quite nice. THe other stuff is sub $8 from memory?
How do you find the vittoria? I tried a few when they came out recently being a new pod line - they all had regular pods that failed to pierce or filter water through properly that i actually complained and they sent new ones out (head office), but they still suffered the same problem. Ended up returnign them to woolies and got L'or and some other Dailey street and other home brands to "try" to see what i liked.. THink the L'or have turned out to be the next closest after markets… some times moccona does the trick , but yeah haven't found too many great ones that taste as good as nespresso (although unfortuantely they're much more expensive).
It comes down to which pods you choose, how many you buy and your location but for me it was close to $1 a pod ($49.50 for 5 sleeves and post) as I am nowhere near a store to pick them up.
Saying that looking through the site they have varied a little in price (some up some down) since I've purchased a couple of years ago.
I drink my coffee black, no sugar and again tastes may vary so what I appreciate could be completely different to someone that takes it with milk etc.
I've only just started on the Vittoria, but so far the Colombian is not bad, smooth taste. Can't really taste the butterscotch they mention in their tasting notes, but I think I can sort of smell it coming through?
Also no issues with their pods in my machine.
I had no end of trouble when trying Lavazza pods, the plastic instead of aluminium is just not good.
I'd have to ensure each pod was dropped in perfectly, and after the pour that each pod was actually cleared as well.
Years ago I won a few packs of 'podlisious' I think they were called, tried two pods before the rest were passed on, if there was an international roast of pods, they'd come close.
Didn't like the taste of them last time. Tastes burnt, like Starbucks.
